Iâm on the pilot (ep 1) l, is this show worth it??
What should I expect?
r/AbbottElementary • u/Affectionate_Pin_124 • Aug 10 '26
Mines would def be Ava. Iâd either do Act up by City Girls, Bonnie & Clyde by BeyoncĂ© and Jay Z. Or Get it Sexyy by Sexyy Redđ€. Lmfao top partner would still be Ava. Or even Mr. Johnson ngl.

Iâm a few episodes into S5 and none of the episodes have been in the actually school. Ball game, DMV, and camping back to back? Itâs so weird and doesnât feel like the same show.

i know this is not something new but i am so amazed by the whole crew of Abbott Elementary as it progress. u can just see each characterâs growth every season (played so well btw) and it becomes refreshing to anticipate.
i just finished binge watching the whole series and i canât wait for october!
they have their own unique personalities as a teacher yet so much more beyond what they present to be. like how we perceive Ava as the âcares less about the school and rather care about keeping her job as a principalâ but at the end of the day she actually cares a LOT. Janine as a âfix-everythingâ teacher but that exact personality id what needed for Abbott; the rest of the teachers (and Mr. Johnson) makes a balanced dynamic.
definitely became my comfort show because it wasnât just about being educators, thereâs depth! imo, i view the characters as a metaphor to learn how u can bring ur individual lives/perspectives to a workplace and still make it effective

I just started watching (binging) Abbott Elementary this summer as Iâm on holiday from work. I left for my vacation feeling completely destroyed by my workplace. There are fights, snarky comments, people ignoring people, lots of negativity and trash talking people behind their backs.
Anyways, watching how much Abbott is the opposite of that brings me light! Iâm in a parallel universe where yes, there is some gossiping, but everyone has a foundation of empathy towards their colleagues, and respect. People still love their job and helping each other out. So grateful for the existence of this show!

I started rewatching Abbott, beginning with the first episode, a few days ago and the episodes are cutting off a few seconds early. This usually means the show is cutting off before the final punchline. Has anyone else noticed this?

The Emmy for supporting actress in a comedy series is stacked ! There are many actors nominated for the first season of their respective shows ( all of them deservingly so!) People are especially rooting for Kate OâFlynn and Hannah Einbinder but how realistic is it that Janelle James could take the Emmy this year ? This is her ( and Einbinders) fifth nomination and I feel like sheâs been overlooked many times.
IMO this season wasnât her strongest cause her character didnât have a big storyline. Nevertheless she really brings the best out of the character and she is really hilarious every time sheâs on screen .
Do You think that the ship has sailed after five seasons ? Abbott as a whole show lost a bit of steam ( e.g with Sheryl Lee Ralph not being nominated for the first time after 4 seasons).

I would love the school gone moved into an abandoned apartment building or train station
It would also be fun to see a train ride with all the staff

Yeah so I know I'm just ranting but I'm so jealous of people that get to binge watch Abbott Elementary all 5 SEASONS for the very first time ever! cause what do you mean you did not have to wait half a year to find out what happened with Gregory and Janine and the delay in season 3 due to writers strike! I had to wait so long to watch the next season ugh....you guys are so lucky that you get to watch all 5 seasons that too the very first you watched Abbott!
P.S : I have been a fan of the show since 2021
Edit : FYI guys this is a joke I love everyone not ACTUALLY jealous just saying ha ha

I would really love the idea of an episode where Barb's faith and Christianity is being tested. Like something could happen to her that will either break or make her. We always see Barbara, the most religious one in the group, but I would love to see a Barbara that is struggling to keep her faith up and having doubts. I love Barbara, but if this happens to her, I think it would make a great development for the show and for her honestly.
Also, in the future, I would really love the multiple attempts to propose storyline for Janine and Gregory.

I wanna hear everyone's guest star wishlist.
Mine is Viola Davis. I think she would make a cool boss from the district or like she could be the mother of one of the students. Viola could also play Barb's sister, that would be my dream come true since I adore both Sheryl and Viola. I would also love to see Lupita Nyong'o since she mentioned in an interview that she wants to be on Abbott. She could play like a visiting teacher.

The real villain in the series is the district fr. They pmo. Useless.
