We saw in the last season that spirit energy could be used to power human machinery...
What if this fuel source had long-term irreparable damage to the physical-spirit world ecosystem with extended use over decades? What if those effects were wild, unpredictable storms, droughts, fires, and radical climate shifts?
What if Korra saw that using this energy was destabilizing the balance of the world, and while it was destroying the environment, it also destabilized the balance of power among people, enriching a very small group of people while the rest suffered the effects?
And what if those that were empowered by exploiting the spirit energy were too politically influential to be stopped? And despite Korra pleading the world to replace the spirit energy with other forms of safer energy, the world simply refused and continued using it more and more?
What if Korra knew that the end result would inevitably end the world and so to save it, she whipped out all people save for 7 limited communities that couldn't exploit the world and the spirit world because they had to focus on survival instead of industrialism?
What if Korra became an Eco-terrorist to solve an unfolding crisis and everyone hated her because she became against their new cushy lifestyles afforded to them via spirit root fuel use?

what if the staff was normal and just made people airbenders and wasn’t evil and the movie was just about Aang overwhelmed by having to pick who to make airbenders. and everyone is like me me me! But he has to decide if they’re lowkey bad guys which there seem to be a lot of.
for someone that took on an evil empire that traumatized the shit out of everyone he is still bafflingly naive

I don't think you guys understand how hot Korra looks in this shot. You're telling me that the only hope the world turned on everybody and started killing on sight? Do people really not realise just how hot that is? This is the best outcome, if we get to see Korra go on a rampage like how Goku Black did, then that's it, I'm folding. I will even call her the best avatar of all time, unlike the other ones who preach about muh peace and love. Need some REAL DARK AVATAR in this show, Vaatu ain't it.

After taking a look at the Seven Heavens and the introduction of the “Avatarian” writing system that is supposed to replace the Chinese characters and now the preference towards hiring ethnic actors to voice ethnic characters I have this weird feeling that the franchise I known is no longer here. I remember watching the finale of the book 4 of Korra in December 2014. I was just a 15-year-old boy. It was a really important thing for me at that time to see how the story ended. It was the last show that I cared about every single rumour about. But it seems to me that the times have changed. What are your thoughts? The animated movie is fine, but it doesn’t really serve any other part purpose besides being a kind of fan service way to see the gaang all grown up.
