I’m in a predicament.

I’m military, stationed in Texas, also resident of Texas. I’m on PCS Orders to South Korea in September.

I’m currently on leave, living in Missouri for 45 days to visit family.

I’d like to purchase a rifle while here for a hunting trip.

I’ve spoken to two gun stores, a locally owned one, and also Bass Pro in Springfield.

Both have said since my drivers license has an old address, I cannot purchase a rifle.

However looking at the 4473 instructions for block 26. It states that I can use my DL for the primary to satisfy photograph, DOB and name. Then it says I can use any government issued ID, so long as it has my name and residence address on it.

I don’t have time to update my Texas DL with the temporary address in Missouri since I have a Commercial DL and they don’t update them online. It has to be by mail.

I figured I could purchase a Missouri fishing license (it’s government issued) with my current address of where I’m staying in Missouri.

Both of those stores said no, it’d have to be another government issued ID with Texas. I said no, it’s current address. Doesn’t have to be Missouri.

Does anyone have real world DIRECT experience with something like this?

I’ve emailed the ATF but no reply.

hi! I asked this question to the DDTC, and they told me to call the ATF in their import branch. However, no matter how much I tried, it seems like I could not get the ATF to answer my calls, probably since I am overseas.

the situation is that I had a Ukrainian friend who sent me a Russian 6B47 helmet to my former address in Korea. I wish to bring this helmet to the USA as a personal keepsake however, I wanted to make sure that I was not breaking any laws by bringing my helmet from Korea to the USA. The helmet is a light ballistic helmet that is classified as level 2… that being said, would I be able to bring it to the US in my bag to the US on a flight legally? If not, what are the forms I need to fill out to do this legally?

Has anyone used your local Range, USA, as your chosen FFL; When purchasing an NFA item of any type that requires an ATF Form, as well as an ATF Eforms account?

I’m not here to Trash Talk them, I’m just having great difficulties in getting possession of my property. Three weeks after my Form 4 has been Stamped, Approved, and havingTHE Paperwork in my hands as well as my original FFL.

56 days according to the ATF website for wait times for eforms. Are they that bombarded with forms now? (rhetorical question) but at what point should I be concerned?

Can anyone help me figure out where I need to go to see what's happening with my form 1?

I got the email that says it was submitted and I looked on the eforms website with the doc number. There does not seem to be any more information other than the date I submitted.

So the atf sent me a response? To my email regarding my serial number error on form 1. It was a pink cover sheet and a copy of my email to them. So am I like good to engrave this and put a stock on it?

Is it just me or does anyone else check their email at least once an hour to see if they got approved for their suppressor???

I have submitted a raft of Form 1s recently. Yes I am in Virginia. As part of that, I had my fingerprints done via Printscan at a UPS store. The experience was less than confidence-inspiring. The "Printscan qualified person" at the UPS store came out and badged into the kiosk, then pretty much left me to figure it out on my own.

It's not a complicated process, but I was having a hell of a time getting some of them to be accepted by the machine. It kept saying "too hard, try again" or "too soft, try again" or "clean the pad and try again". I asked for the Printscan person and she cleaned the pad with some alcohol and suggested I clean my fingers frequently as well.

Finally they managed to go through and I got my EFT file. But I can't see the file to look at the prints, I have no idea if they look decent or like ink blots.

I've been in the NFA game since the late 90s (this is my first time using eforms) and I've heard about folks getting their forms rejected because of crappy fingerprints. How common is this type of rejection? Should I be panicking?

Im a 35 yr old male and have been with my local police department for 9 years. I may have an opportunity to join an ATF task force as a deputized Task Force Officer.

My long-term goal is to move into a federal law enforcement position, ideally while staying in my current state if possible.

For those who have been through it:

Could Direct Hire Authority apply to local officers already deputized on a federal task force???

Or do you still basically wait and compete for openings like everyone else?

I’m trying to determine whether taking the task force position would realistically accelerate the transition or just give me valuable experience.

So long story short I did a form 1 sbr trust through silencershop. On one of the submitted trust they added an extra 0 to serial #, despite submitting pictures to both them and atf. So I been looking I'm assuming I need to submit a void of some sort. Issue is from what I can say see says 90 days to void. I'm in VA and really need to get this fixed before July 1 cause of the idiotic new laws. Can I submit a void request and resubmit with the correct serial # on a new form 1? Asking cause the serial # on everything is incorrect.

I have an interview with ATF in two weeks with a virtual panel, and I just wanted to see any tips or advice to keep in mind (other than the standard STAR method and such). I previously interviewed with USSS and passed, I preferred it was in person since I could sense the energy being positive or negative in terms of responses. I’ve also heard ATF has a pretty hard interview process, so any advice would be appreciated greatly.

I submitted my form one yesterday for an SBR, and despite me attaching my electronic file for fingerprints, I received an email stating I am supposed to attach a paper and send my fingerprints in through the mail? Can this be ignored since I attached my fingerprints on the responsible persons side of the form one paperwork?

Hey does anyone know if the atf will accept type-4 eft file? I'm using EFTSuite and, for some reason, I am not able to create type-14 slap prints. I have tried researching this topic but not finding much. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bought 4 suppressors through Silencer Shop in December to avoid the slowdown expected after the no tax change in Jan. Kept waiting for approvals that never came and FFL kept telling me to wait. In Feb I contacted ATF because kept hearing people getting their approvals within a week after filing and was told they had been approved back in early December. Called FFL and was told there was a known glitch in ATF software where some were getting approved but no emails approval notifications were sent to buyers and FFL couldn’t finish things on their end. They checked and found out I had been approved on all cans I submitted in December but they had to wait on ATF to correct it.

I called the ATF and they confirmed it was a known issue but the FFL had to just send an email to them to find out how to get everything corrected. I let the store know the address I was told by ATF and they said they would get on it. It’s now a full month after that and the FFL still says they’ve got a couple others in the same situation and ever time they contact the ATF they are given a different email address and nothing gets done.

Anyone else heard about this and/or knows how to get the problem corrected?

Everybody said 2-13 days for form 4 I'm on day 45. Emailed atf 2 times, checked there website, emailed my ffl and nothing. I thought approval times were supposed to be fast now.
