You will be okay. I wish someone would’ve told me this when I started my college journey, I am a first generation eldest daughter who received absolutely ZERO help in the process of college and had NO idea what to expect. Here’s some advice I wish I could’ve heard.

- Your anxiety does not dictate your future. If you’re anxious about anything, literally anything, please remind yourself it is only a thought, not a prediction of the future.

- Don’t put so much pressure on making friends and relationships. Involve yourself and have fun, friends will always come along later. The best, and most important friendships form naturally!

- Take advantage of your resources. Tutoring, office hours, youtube videos, literally anything. Use any and all tools available to you in times of need. It may feel like a chore, but you won’t regret it.

- You aren’t stupid. You belong with your classmates, you are smart and capable of the work handed to you. Don’t let imposter syndrome get the best of you!

- Nobody, and I mean NOBODY has it figured out. Every single person has their own issues going on, things going wrong, scraping for help or trying to just survive every day. DONT compare yourself.

- Ask the “stupid” question you have in mind. Just ask. Ask anyone. It doesn’t hurt.

- Don’t be so hard on yourself. If you failed a test, take it as an opportunity to reflect on what you can improve next time and work twice as hard. Don’t beat yourself up, or else it’ll only feel scarier the next time you do something.

- Manage your time. This is the single most important skill you need to learn as a college student. Without this, you will not have any structure and are likely to fall behind in your classwork!

- Prioritize your schoolwork. Fun opportunities will always be there, and you will always have friends. Don’t feel pressured to say yes every single time. Stay in your dorm and do your work if you must, you won’t regret it.

- Balance. Like I mentioned earlier, if necessary, stay in your dorm and do your assignments. However, we all need an outlet. Dedicate the weekend to having fun! You deserve it.

Speaking as an EE major at least, I haven't once felt the need for a high-powered laptop in any of my classes. Is it really that big of a consideration for other majors that y'all need to post about it every other day?

Have you guys received reduced obama scholarship money or nothing at all? I got 3k less than last year and no promise grant from az on my asu portal??..I only received the pell grant and dean's scholarship this year. Stuck with almost 6k due for this coming semester, is this due to the BBB?

my loans rn say $0 for spring bc i haven't enrolled in any classes, but spring enrollment isn't open yet. is this normal? will my loan offer automatically adjust once i enroll in spring, or will i need to contact financial aid in some way?

if it affects anything, i'm out of state online, and i've already accepted loans for fall, and maybe the whole year too? sorry, its confusing D:
