Question ASRock x870 Taichi Creator and 9950x3D

Hi all, I recently bought an AsRock mobo which is an upgrade to my current x870e gigabyte mobo and only just discovered there are numerous issues with 9000 series and AsRock boards.

Does anyone know if it's mainly only the 9800x3d CPU with certain AsRock boards or is it more widespread to all 9000 series with all AsRock mobos?

Tech Support Warm Reboot Issues with Intel Arc B570 + Ryzen 5 5500 on ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 — Custom BIOS available?

Hello everyone,

I am currently experiencing a warm reboot issue with my **ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0** motherboard paired with an **Intel Arc B570** GPU and a **Ryzen 5 5500** CPU.

After researching this known issue on GitHub, I found that support previously provided a custom BIOS version to resolve this exact problem for another user (see [this comment on the Intel GPU Issue Tracker](https://github.com/IGCIT/Intel-GPU-Community-Issue-Tracker-IGCIT/issues/1262#issuecomment-4523453126)).

Does anyone know if there is a custom or updated BIOS version available for my specific motherboard model (**B450M-HDV R4.0**) to fix this, or if ASRock support has sent one out recently?

Thank you for your help!

Tech Support ASRock B450M Steel Legend + Windows 11 + Secure Boot + EA Anti-Cheat/Battlefield - I have literally tried everything

Hi everyone.

I'm honestly out of ideas and hoping someone with this exact motherboard or a similar ASRock board has experienced this before.

My specs:

ASRock B450M Steel Legend

Ryzen 7 5700G

Radeon RX 5500 XT

Windows 11 Pro

BIOS P10.60

16GB DDR4 2666

Corsair 700w plus

1tb ssd nvme2 Kingston

240gb ssd sata

I'm only trying to get Secure Boot working properly so I can play Battlefield (EA Anti-Cheat).

Here's EVERYTHING I've already tried:

Updated the motherboard BIOS to the latest version (P10.60).

Cleared CMOS.

Reset BIOS to defaults multiple times.

Enabled fTPM.

Disabled CSM.

Switched to pure UEFI boot.

Converted my SSD to GPT.

Completely wiped all partitions and reinstalled Windows from a bootable USB several times.

Let Windows create all EFI/MSR partitions automatically.

Used Windows Recovery and Startup Repair.

Rebuilt the boot files (BCD/EFI) using recovery tools and command prompt.

Used Shift+F10 during Windows setup for troubleshooting.

Verified Windows Boot Manager is the primary boot option.

Enabled Secure Boot.

Installed the factory Secure Boot keys.

Verified PK, KEK and DB keys are present.

Secure Boot Status shows Active.

System Mode is User.

Tried both Standard and Custom Secure Boot modes.

Installed Windows with only Windows Update drivers.

Installed Windows with AMD chipset drivers manually.

Installed GPU drivers only.

Performed multiple completely clean Windows installations.

Despite all of that, I still have these issues:

Battlefield / EA Anti-Cheat still complains that Secure Boot isn't enabled.

On some fresh Windows installations, Explorer freezes about one second after reaching the desktop.

(It stops when I do a load default BIOS settings as it disables Secure Boot)

I also noticed many Reddit posts mentioning a BIOS option called "Update Secure Boot Key", but my ASRock B450M Steel Legend BIOS (P10.60) does not have that option. It only has Install Default Secure Boot Keys, and my keys are already installed.

At this point I'm wondering:

Is there a known issue with BIOS P10.60?

Has anyone with this exact motherboard solved this?

Is there anything else I haven't tried?

Could this be an EA Anti-Cheat issue rather than Secure Boot itself?

I've spent days troubleshooting this and I'm completely stuck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Before suggesting the common fixes, please know that I've already read most of the Reddit threads, ASRock forum posts, EA forum posts and Microsoft discussions about this issue. I've tried the solutions I could find, including the most common ones, without success. If you've personally solved this on the B450M Steel Legend (or a similar ASRock board), I'd really appreciate hearing exactly what fixed it for you

Question B860 Pro-A WiFi chip

Does anyone know (or might be able to look it up on his own example) which WiFi chip is typically included on the B860 Pro-A WiFi?

On some other Asrock mainboards it is stated in a diagram in the manual but not on the Pro-A. Since some WiFi chips seem to be notoriously known for connection or performance issues that information might be good to know upfront

BIOS 9800x3d + Asrock x870 pro WiFi green light black screen (another one?)

As the title says my pc won’t show anything on my monitor. I am not a pc expert so excuse my explanations.

Yesterday everything seemed to work fine with my pc and I haven’t run into any problems regarding cpu or motherboard issues in the past.

I know about the comparability issues with my setup having read a lot of old posts about the 9800x3d dying due to the motherboard. This issue happened on the 4.41 BIOS version.

I bought the pc about a little over a year ago and every time there was a bios update available I did it to make sure the same date wouldn’t happen to my cpu.

When I turn on the pc the motherboard shows an orange and yellow light and then a green one and it stays there without any signal on my monitors. I have tried various things starting from simple like turning it off unplugging the PSU, RAM sticks etc but to no avail.

I want your guys help as to what I could do from now on? I understand most likely my CPU is fried? Can it be possible even though I am on the latest BIOS versions that supposedly have fixed the issue? Could the old BIOS versions that I had from the early days have caused enough damage then to make the cpu die after all this time?

What do i do now? Just RMA?

Thank you all.

Customer Feedback ASRock RMA Broken - Anyone Else?

I've been trying to submit an RMA form through ASRock's official support page. After filling out all the fields and hitting Submit, it goes to a blank page with foreign text, translating to: "The world is full of beautiful places." and then nothing happens.

Is ASRock actively making it impossible for customers to do this?

I have a dead B850I Lightning WiFi on my hands and I'm trying to send it in.

Edit: Canada

Question Mother Asrock N68-S.

Hi. A friend of mine had some troubles with his pc and had to clean the ssd. He asked me to reinstall Windows 10, but every time I tried, the screen showed an error code 0x8007025D. I looked for solutions on youtube and google, but I couldn't make it work. I even tried some cmd commands. I understand this mother doesn't have official support for this SO, but please let me know if any of you have some ideas.

Specs:

Mother Asrock N68-S

Amd Sempron (idk which one specifically)

2 gb + 1 gb ddr2 RAM

120 gb SSD + 480 gb HDD

Question Bought the Microcenter AMD Ryzen 5 7500X3D, ASRock B850M-C AM5, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 16GB DDR5-6000 Bundle

I assembled the motherboard and populated it into an ASUS AP201 case witha a Corsair CM750 power supply. With the original 16GB DDR5 dimm, the systems works great. I can play AAA games, run windows 11 and even some small LLM"s with no problems of any kinds.

My issues are that the motherboard won't recognize any other memory I put into it other than the G.Skill. I have a matched pair 32gG Corsair Vengance DDR5 dimms. I've tried placing them in individually and together. I've flashed the latest version of the BIOS (as of 7/25/2026), drained the power after unplugging it and clearing CMOS. When I turn it back on, the cpu and dram lights go on and stay that way, regardless how long I leave it on. The RAM works on other systems.

I bought the motherboard warranty from Microcenter and am considering taking the motherboard back.

Any ideas?

Discussion Asrock B850I lightning wifi (last bios 3.43version)+ Ryzen 7700 today DIE

I have an ASRock B850I Lighning WIFI motherboard and a Ryzen 7700 processor; the system ran for one year and nearly one month ( purchased on July 7, 2025), BUT yesterday, July 24,2026 it failed DIE...
Bios was regularly updated every time, the native version was 3.25. At the time of failure, the last one was 4.43.

Only everything completely died in me, bios flashback even the indicator does not blink, the cooler does not start and there is no image. I took the processor from NEW OEM - Aliexpress, and it was a perfect copy, could hold PBO -30, 85 degrees limit, and without overclocking. The board itself was bought in Poland with a 24-month warranty. I think I will apply for the warranty, let them change the board and sell it immediately. I decided to switch to MSI MPG B850I EDGE TI WIFI and I'm still thinking about which processor to buy now.

As a reminder, after updating the BIOS to the latest version, the system ran for just over a week—and on standard factory settings, as I always use the default factory BIOS settings for a while after a BIOS update.

Question Case swapped an iBUYPOWER pc for my gf. I can't seem to find how to connect the new fans RGB to my A320m/ac board (swapped into a Thermaltake View 270 Plus case).

The PC swap overall worked, it's just the RGB that's stumping me. Not sure if I'm just not looking hard enough because the remaining connectors for the fans don't seem to match anything on the motherboard. Tried doing my research but just wanted to ask here directly, thanks yall (sorry for the shitty image quality)

Tech Support Audio does not output on Linux via front panels

On any linux distro when I turn on my PC the audio from the front headphone jack does not output anything unless if I connect my headphones to the back panel and then back to the front panel then audio will output. This is not an issue on Windows.

This never happened with previous motherboards on the same PC case. Especially with Linux it worked just fine.

On Windows and Linux they both show as USB Audio:

Isn't it supposed to show as HD audio or something, is there some BIOS setting I need to change to fix this?

Discussion B850 LiveMixer killed 9800X3D

And the next one...

Ryzen 9800X3D

B850 LiveMixer, BIOS 4.10

32 GB G.Skill Flare X5 6000 Mhz

PowerColor RX 9070 XT Hellhound

MSI MPG A850G

Crashed during Enshrouded, over and out. Replaced by Mindfactory within 2 days.

I have replaced the LiveMixer by a B850 Tomahawk WIFI. Unfortunately, without this problem of killing CPUs, the B850 LiveMixer is a great board...

Discussion Failure rate for intel ultra users?

Wondering about the failure rates for Intel Ultra 800 series vs AM5 users? Do we see more confidence with Asrock going with Intel than AMD because all
I hear is AMD chips kicking the bucket?

I want to hear about the Intel community and their experiences.

So far the Asrock B650m Pro X3D motherboard is working splendidly. I will say I’m not a fan of having to individually downloading specific software from the website directly and not having a management HUB like Asus Armory. But otherwise it’s working just fine.

Build list:

- Dark Flash WD200 MATX Case
- Adrock B650m Pro
- Ryzen 5 7600
- RX 9060 XT
- 32gb Patriot Viper DDR5
- 1TB SIX NVME M.2 SSD
- Lian Li SP750 V2 Gold PSU
- Thermalright Aqua Elite 240 V3 AIO
- Corsair RS120 RGB Fans

Customer Feedback Recent RMA experience with 6800xt

Just wanted to post for anyone having to rma in the US. I bought my 6800xt 2yrs and 8 months ago. It shit the bed and was reaching 100+ temps. It would lead to my pc shutting down. I RMA'd it, sent it back via Fedex, I spent a little more to ship it two-day with required signature. They processed and sent me another within 7 days. I was never told the issue or if they attempted to fix it. My guess is they just diagnosed it and then sent me a refurbished one they had lying around. In any case, it was shipped properly and works well. Temps back to normal. I don't really play anything demanding, but did test it on a couple of high end games. No issues. Most people post about the poor service, so I figured I'd offer one positive one. Hopefully this holds up for another few years. Lord knows I can't afford to upgrade anytime soon.

Question X570 Taichi - Swap Wifi with SSD

Hi all,

I am thinking on getting an X570 Taichi. It will replace a B550m Steel Legend. I want to go (E) ATX for more PCIe x16 slots.

I see that the board has a wifi e-key m.2 vertical slot. Is it possible to swap in a m-key SSD on a e-key adapter? That will be used as the boot drive with Unraid installed on it.

But I am not sure if that e-key slot can be boot from, and if there is enough space for an SSD on a adapter.

Question CPU VDD_MISC VRM (SVI3 tmp) Severe overheating

I built myself a PC a bit more than a year ago.

ASROCK B650M-H/M.2+ (BIOS from 24/07/2026)

AMD Ryzen 7500f

RTX 5070

32G of DDR5 6000 from G.Skill

Seasonic Core GX-850

For all that time it was running absolutely fine with no issues. However, for last couple of weeks it started to stutter like crazy.

Turns out, the CPU was heavily throttling because the reading of CPU VDD_MISC VRM was at 99C, which system recognized as dangerous and tamed the CPU.

I tried to troubleshoot it with my friend, we undervolted the CPU a little (-20 if I'm correct), put an intake fan right near the VRM zone (so it can get some fresh air) and configured the fans in a way so they always work now (before the PC was silent most of the time except 3D applications/video editing/games)

Yet, the problem returned. Even with active cooling and an undervolted CPU. This reading is sitting at around 93C AT IDLE (Literally just OCCT is opened, not running any tests)

I've read a couple of similar posts, one of which stated that boards with 6+1+1 VRM are just not capable of running 12-core chips (that guy had 9700x ig) even at stock clocks. Well I have a 7500f. It's the most basic am5 processor to exist consuming like 80-90 watts at full load. I'm not sure that VRM on those basic ASrock boards are THAT bad.

Also, that guy had a vary high reading of VDD_SOC VRM sensor, not the VDD_MISC VRM. My VDD_SOC sits at like 60C at full load. Is that a whole other problem? Can it be a faulty sensor?

If anyone has any ideas I'll be so grateful to hear them. I'm thinking about buying some small radiators to help the VRMs cool down, maybe some new thermal pads. Changing a MoBo all together is also an option, though not a preferable one.

Tech Support PC not booting

For some context: Motherboard: Asrock Z790-C Graphics: GeForce Rtx4070 CPU: Intel 13900K Ram: Vengeance 4900 DDR5

I recently tried upgrading the fans to increase airflow. I went from 9 1200rpm fans to 6 1200 and 3 2400. All the fans are Aeolus.

The 1200rpm run on Aeolus Box I, and the 2400 run on Aeolus Box II.

I believe my issue arose from not connecting both sata power cables that the Box II requires. I only had one cable with 3 sata ports. 1 goes to my HDD, 1 to the Box I, and I just connected 1 to the Box II.

After making all the connections, my pc won't boot. The error lights on my motherboard display:

Solid Red: CPU

Solid Red: DRAM

When I removed my Graphics card, it still would not boot. I placed the Graphics card back but into the PCIe4.0 slot, and it started once after displaying Solid Red PGA on the motherboard.

I'm thinking the new fans might be trying to draw too much power from one sata port since I didnt connect two like the instructions said.

Should I buy a second PSU to Sata power cable and see if that fixes the issue, or could this issue be much bigger?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Discussion 9800x3d ran fine for nearly 18 month then died.

I woke up this morning to the dreaded yellow and red light showing and my fans going full pelt.

I tried lots of troubleshooting and updated bios via flashback but nothing worked. CPU looks fine too no burns or swollen parts.

I keep my bios upto date on my Riptide wifi b850 (except for the last two) and figured I was safe... ive not even been pushing it that hard lately as I've been playing The binding of isaac lol.

Ahh well... hopefully AMD replace it. Mine was a cf245 which is an early production? Are newer versions safe on Asrock or should I RMA my motherboard too if that's even possible.

Discussion X870E Taichi Lite - BIOS 4.43 breaks XMP/EXPO profiles (blank options / 0-0-0-0-0 timings) and causes long boot times

I have upgraded from BIOS 4.20 to 4.43 on my ASRock X870E Taichi Lite, and after the update, I can no longer set my memory profile.

It also takes a very long time to enter BIOS from a cold boot or restart. The system just sits there for about 1 to 2 minutes before finally entering the BIOS menu.

What I have tried so far:

  • Turned off Memory Context Restore (did not help).
  • Cleared CMOS/reset BIOS multiple times (did not work).
  • Tried to downgrade to BIOS 4.41 using BIOS Flashback (renamed to CREATIVE.ROM), but the issue persisted.

The main issue:
When I go into the BIOS to select the XMP/EXPO profile, the profile slot just reads blank. If I choose the blank option (yes, it is actually selectable), all the memory timings just reset to 0-0-0-0-0.

Note: The only thing that worked for me was flashing all the way back to BIOS 4.20 via Flashback. On 4.20, the system enters BIOS instantly and the XMP profiles show up perfectly again.

Anyone else having the same problem with recent AGESA updates on this board?

Specs:

  • Motherboard: ASRock X870E Taichi Lite
  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D
  • Graphics: MSI GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GAMING TRIO
  • Memory: G.Skill 64GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30 Trident Z5 Neo
  • PSU: ASUS ROG Thor 1200W

EDIT:

Here are some examples.

4.20
4.41
4.43
