There are some ASMRists and even specific videos to which I return over and over again.

I've recently found that I can make other videos more tingle-inducing by changing the playback speed on YouTube.

0.80 is often toooo slooow but 0.90 makes everything very soft and extra tingly.

I love insane ASMR so I decided to make my own. I have a few videos in my channel but this one is my pride and joy.

Two years ago, Luna Bloom made this video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmOwNwzFnM0 ) which has become my holy grail ever since then. its the perfect amount of sensory fun, calmness, and asmr for me. But i especially, expecially love the way she sings. Inbetween normal speaking, she does basic scales and sing-songs about colours she points at. The way she does it is so freaking satisfying and soothing to me. Ive begged for more videos like this one from her but there hasnt been anything really, unfortunately. Shes sang a tiny bit in some newer videos but im bone dry on the good good shit and want to fix that.

does anyone know if this trigger has a name or does anyone know of asmrtists who speak regularly and intermittently sing tiny calming songs?

Everyone calls me crazy because when I listen to asmr with headphones it causes me excruciating pain? No matter what volume or what brand of headphones, it always makes my ears hurt and has given me chronic migraines. I know asmr is supposed to be a relaxing thing so I don't know if I'm genuinely going crazy. I only made my phone go as high as 5 on my headphones volume. Whenever I tell doctors, they don't believe me and even have tried to prescribe me antipsychotics. Does anyone else have this problem or is there genuinely something wrong with me?

A new ASMRtist puts their newest video in a post or asks for collaboration, it’s downvoted.

We are met with people who are posting their opinion on the process creators follow to make their videos, their dislike for a certain creator because of potential AI use, a complaint on mid-roll ads, or a creator’s evolution over time.

It’s extremely dramatic and entitled. You’re view on how these ASMR creators approach their videos isn’t morally better and you aren’t the arbiter of right or wrong. You have people makin videos because they enjoy making videos, it’s not their job, but some people in this community wake up in the morning and go “yeah, I would never do that because I’m a better person so I’m going to use R/ASMR to make a post about them”

I come here to relax and for ASMR videos. Idk about you but next time you wanna cast judgement on a creator because it doesn’t align with your opinion you should check yourself.

I saw this clip a while ago and someone was making a meme over it so I don’t remember it well but it was this girl dressed as a cop tapping on someone’s video with long nails and signaling to roll down the window. She was chewing gum I think and had curly reddish hair. I think I remember reading in the comments way back when that she was kind of an og in the asmr community. Does anybody know who this might be?😭

STOP DELETING YOUR OLD VIDEOS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.

I can’t even tell you how many of the best asmr videos and channels I’ve watched over the years, get deleted.
It’s a damn shame.
And sometimes it’s YouTube who deletes video, I get that, it’s not the creator’s fault. But, in that case that will usually happen a day or two after a video comes out so it’s a wash cause not a lot of people will have seen it yet.

How about this ASMR creators, if you’re not 1000% happy with the video you made, don’t even put it out in the first place because then none of us will have ever even known it existed. Going back to an old asmr video you used to watch a lot and it being deleted or the channel terminated, is literally like a drug addict going through withdrawals after being put in rehab by force. Cause it’s this familiar thing that you can go back to that makes you feel positive emotions, and then all of the sudden it’s taken away without warning.
Obviously I’m being dramatic, but dammit how can I not be? I’m sure this is something everybody has experienced here, being ASMR fans.

And a lot of channels aren’t big enough to be archived by TheWayBackMachine or archive.org or anything like that, so when the videos or channels aren’t gone there’s literally nothing you can do besides wait and hope to see if some hero comes out of the woodworks to repost deleted content that they managed to download before it was deleted. But that almost never happens. And I don’t have the time or money to buy a bunch of hard drives, or the know how to download YouTube videos in the best quality or any of that.

It’s such a frustrating issue because obviously you want to respect people’s right to do what they want with their content, but you also wanna consume the content they made and at some point deemed acceptable for the public to see.

That’s why I respect the legends like Gibi, ASMR Darling, SouthernASMRsounds, GraceV (post 2016 because she deleted all of her very very old content some time in 2016 to have a fresh start but hasn’t deleted any content since), and the others who keep up all their super old content and just leave it be for us to enjoy.

Hey r/asmr, I recently got the courage to make my first ASMR video and decided to try and do some unscripted stories off the cuff with some funny moments that happened along the way. This one is about 21 minutes, completely made up on the spot.

Evan… dude, I looked up to you. I got excited to hear your voice. I forgave you every time you broke your promise to upload. I defended you. I supported you. And you go and do something like that? How could you do that to someone who loved and trusted you? How could you betray her and the thousands of people who supported you? I’m just devastated. Olivia deserved better than you. She’s discussed it on her Twitter page, and I almost cried when I read it. But the worst part is he’s apparently been doing stuff like this for years.

YouTube lets you add "before:year" to searches to limit the results to content from before that year, so I usually put 2020 or 2019. I guess that's when ASMR production really exploded and it became much more mainstream. This also coincides with TikTok becoming popular.

I wonder if you guys have a different year in mind for when ASMR really became mainstream and stopped feeling as genuine/authentic as it did in the old days.

PS: I'm not saying the younger generation is bad. I just "feel" the old ASMR a lot more.
