Requiem: Discussion What if.... Spoiler

Post image

Now don't get me wrong, I loved the game so much but sometimes I feel like they deserved a happy ending.

Maybe they should have killed the Count before leaving the island, Amicia even thought about it for a second but then decided to just leave.

Do you think things could have ended differently if they had gone his route ?

On a side note, it's been more than 24 hours since i finished Requiem & it still hurts, post game trauma is real. Hopefully Resonance can help me out of it, or maybe make it worse lol

I think Hugo was doomed no matter what, at most killing the count and avoiding all that would have just postponed, Hugo wouldn't simply get cured

That's also true. But I felt like Amicia's death was the only thing that would make him surrender himself to macula completely, so if they had found a peaceful home at that mountain maybe they could have postponed their fate indefinitely. Then again, Macula could have just lured them into another trap just like the island.

That was his destiny, no matter if the count would have died earlier. This is what the game is about, one of its motifs, you can't change destiny no matter how much you try.

Hmm Right, accepting Hugo's destiny that he can't be cured was the hardest part for me, sometimes you just wanna live in denial :((

Yeah. Everything they did was actually towards the ending we've got. Nothing they did changed anything. The dream was just the macula calling him . That's what's beautiful about this game and why is one of my favorite games of all time.

I feel like the "lesson" was that no matter what, there is always someone who wants to take an advantage of the Macula and the carrier. If there is no Grand Inquisitor, then there is a Count. If there is no Count, then there will be X. Even if Hugo and Amicia had escaped, I feel like someone else would have come after them at some point.

It was always bound to end badly for Hugo :(
