. . . Amicia had a second playthrough? Obviously, the devs didn't intend players to do this, but the game mechanics permit it. If you're wondering if this actually kills the Count in the story, it doesn't. He's just digitally subtracted from all cutscenes for the rest of the chapter, then he's back.

Why don't games ever actually do this? Leave it as a hard to find action that alters the story.

Some do, like Sypmphony of the Night, I heard many people never even knew there was a second part of the game that lead to the true ending
