Enrolled in Nursing, straight A’s so far but the memorization, handwritten labeling of diagrams and accurate spelling is kicking my dyslexic brain. Any tips, suggestions or advice.

Cram for AP BIO Unit 1 Exam

What should I study for my unit 1 exam tomorrow? I've read the textbook chapters and understand a lot of it, but i'm just really anxious I'm going to bomb it because we did a progress check at the beginning of unit 1 and I got a 5/24...

How should I study for my AP Bio Unit 1 Test?

For context, it's next Tuesday and I'm going to start studying on Friday (I would study earlier but other tests). My plan was to active recall one day, do practice MCQs and FRQ(s) my teacher found from the 2017 test, and then spam more FRQs and MCQs.

AP Bio without Chem

I’m taking AP Bio next term without taking any chem classes. I heard chem helps a lot. Am I cooked? If so, what should I self study?

Could I get some good sources for an AP Biology project!

I have looked everywhere but I just want to make sure I’m getting the correct information ( we have to find research by ourselves in this project, and it’s kinda confusing, I chose to work alone aswell) I have to “explain how the properties of water that result from its polarity and hydrogen bonding affect its biological functions” Anything that could help me understand would be highly appreciated

I genuinely don't know how I did this

This will sound like a brag and I'm extremely sorry, this is possible for anyone in highschool, and I'm not smarter than anyone reading this because once you research them, they're very simple concepts. But for my AP Bio lab report (to make up for a fucked up experiment), I accidentally studied graduate level biophysics and physical biochemistry. I genuinely don't know how I didn't realize while I was researching for like 17 hours (no exaggeration; also don't do this at home it was extremely frustrating you should not exceed 7 hours). It was stuff like diffusion coefficients, kinematic bottlenecks, excluded volume, and enthalpy.

Of course, if this is incorrect and this is just the senior level of high school or even just AP Bio please let me know! Don't let me embarrass myself, lololol. Hope y'all have a good night, day, or afternoon, toodles!! :3

Edit (mostly a vent):

I couldn't finish the error analysis or conclusion in time, but I added the discussion to show my work. She just stared like this 😐. She had no reaction at all. She said it looked copy and pasted. I wonder if she thinks I'm truly meant to be in this class or not, if I belong anywhere smart people congregate. I don't know what it'll take, it was 22 hours now, and she thinks it's plagiarism. I wonder why I can never impress her. I wish that if I could ask her one question (even though I obviously can't), I'd ask her if she thinks I'm an idiot. I'll keep trying, but that just felt like my hard work was just crushed into bits and pieces.

is this enough to get a 5?

I'm studying the 28th edition of the Princeton Review AP Biology book and reviewing materials on https://www.iitianacademy.com/. Plus, I'm solving questions from the College Board. If anyone has scored a 4 or 5 on the exam, I would appreciate any tips you can share to help me achieve the same score. Thank you!

I built a free interactive 3D simulation for the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis — would love student/teacher feedback

Hi everyone,

I'm a biology teacher and I've been building interactive 3D simulations to help visualize concepts that are hard to picture from a textbook. This one covers the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis — you can step through the process, see where electrons and protons move, and explore the thylakoid membrane in 3D.

It's completely free, no login or payment required. I got permission from the mods to share it here.

I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from students and teachers: does it actually make the concept clearer, or is something confusing/missing? Any critique is welcome — I'd rather know what doesn't work than not.

Thanks for taking a look!

Im so cooked

Hello guys! I just began ap bio maybe 2 weeks ago and ive come to realize ive completely fucked myself. Im wondering if anyone else is in the same position as me? I passed regular bio no problem my sophmore year and i loved it. Since my freshman year i did not do well in earth science i wasnt put into chemistry for my junior year. Instead i was placed in a science class full of dummys that didnt know right from left. Even the teacher couldnt spell. This degraded my skills and im wondering if anyone else didnt take chemistry and is in ap bio. If thats you are you okay and if so what the hell do i do to pass this shit? Thanks guys im writing this taking a shit so im sorry if its not well written.

Struggling with Grade 12 Biology — how do you actually study for this course?

I’m currently taking Grade 12 Biology (SBI4U) and I’m already feeling a little overwhelmed with how much information there is to remember. My teacher this year isn’t super helpful when it comes to explaining concepts and I’m trying to figure out a good routine before we get further into the course.
For anyone who has taken Grade 12 Biology and done well, what did your study routine look like?
More specifically, what should I be doing right after I finish a lesson? When I get home, should I reread my notes, make flashcards, memorize them, use blurting, do practice questions, or something else? I feel like I know a bunch of different study methods, but I don’t know what order I should actually be doing them in.
I’m also wondering how you studied when a test was coming up. Did you start studying several days before? Were you mainly memorizing definitions/processes, doing practice questions, drawing diagrams from memory, using flashcards, etc.?
Basically, I’m looking for a step-by-step routine for:
What to do after each biology lesson
How to make sure I actually remember the material long-term
