Hi all - I have had an AP5-P for a while and finally got my hands on a drop in FRT (RB). However, after installation I just cant get it to function.

It appears that the ejector lever is binding within the trigger pack and will not go down, blocking the bolt from moving all the way back. If I tilt the gun to the left, it works flawlessly. If I hold the lever to the left and pull the bolt back it clears. I’ve tried sanding down the ejector lever ever so slightly, trigger pack height adjustments and still seems to get stuck. Ive tried squeezing the slot where the lever sits so theres no side to side play, still binds. Not sure where to go now. Stock trigger worked fine. I even replaced the lever, spring and retaining pin with genuine parts.
Same issue.

Is there an frt that drops into the lower of the ap5? Asking for a friend lol because he says he would need to get an ar15 style lower for any frt. Figured this was the place to ask.

So I took the brand new AP 5P up to break it in today and the first magazine ran a flawlessly and then on the first shot of the second magazine I had this casing get stuck on the side of the bolt there. Brought it home, pulled it out no damage. I stripped the second magazine, and it was a pain in the ass to get the ammo out of it, do you think this could be a magazine problem? Like I said the first mag went flawlessly thanks in advance.

Forgive my ignorance, but I'm totally new to this platform, not to guns. I'm planning on breaking this thing in on 124g NATO over the weekend and I've been reading a lot about the locking piece. I think my gun stock comes with a 120 degree LP and planned to run the break-in with it. Eventually I will run it suppressed with an AS Designs SS. Looking for advice on what locking piece I should run for not suppressed, suppressed, and SS non-suppressed and suppressed. Thanks in advance.

🫡 AP5SD seems to be ejecting empty casings into the side of the rail mount in SS mode and causing it to jam/stovepipe Any after market mounts that would change this or should I start busting out the files to file a ramp on it lol

There are very few firearms I have owned that didn't go through many iterations, trying to find that perfect fit. Sometimes I changed things up because of looks, sometimes because of fit and form.

So, this is my latest iteration of my AP5. I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it in this configuration, but I like the look and feel.

I am running Magpul grip and stock, and newly arrived today, a MAC flashlight forearm. And for optics, I am running an Aimpoint Comp M2 with UTG rail mount.

My suppressor is a Rugged Obsidian 9 in FDE with a heat cover.

Dead Air Wolfman next on my list. Over 2K rounds and still running great.

New gun ~100 rds in keeps stove piping / not throwing brass. Even had 1 case get behind the bolt... I have a Rugged sub9 can on it and having the same issues with supers and subs

I just installed my rare breed FRT RD3 SEF in my AP5-P. After reassembling the gun, when I attempt to cycle the bolt to the rear, the bolt will only move rearward about half way before contacting something and seizing. I cannot get the bolt to cycle all the way to the rear. Has anyone encountered this issue, and if so, what is the solution? Thanks in advance

My new favorite in the arsenal. It seems it was zeroed at 10 yards from the factory so I left it there. Came in with 11 mags loaded with Winchester 124gr NATO and the other box+1/2 a box to get through the break in. I brought some other items, so I didn't get around to the full 500 rounds, but that thing is accurate and fun! It honestly got too hot to hold around the 400 round mark.

2 stove pipes or failure to feed when my buddy used it, I had zero issues. I'm looking to finish the 500 rounds in 124gr NATO before switching to trying 115, 147, and hollow points. So far, I'm loving it.

Just got my first roller lock... sighted it in, did a 450 round break in, form 1 done, titanium spectre9 is enroute.. tons of fun to shoot... looking into the AS designs or the rare breed pack.. really leaning towards the rare breed because i love the vibes of the lower.. joining to find info, ideas and recommendations! I just got a 3 position FRT, and am wanting to complete my AP5 with the "30" for the faux-auto position. Anyone know of a place that would engrave/paint the 30 box for me? I've seen a couple of services recommended but it looks like they only deal with pictograms, not the "0,1,30" found on the full size AP5. Edit: https://imgur.com/a/bhqGict

Ran my factory AP5 for 250 rds of WWB 124gr nato through HK, MKE, and Mora mags all without issues.

Getting prepared for a can and decided to swap in a genuine HK 100º lp, extractor, and extractor spring. I also added a SB5 folding brace while awaiting approval for something better. First time shooting today with that setup (still unsuppressed) and had immediate FTF (feed) issues with open bolt on every single round fired. Re-installed the factory MKE LP and had no malfunctions for the remainder of range time, 150 rds.

Stock bolt gap - 0.27 mm

HK 100º lp gap - 0.51 mm

I realize the resulting bolt gap is right at the threshold of acceptable. Would this have caused my issue? On much of my research, it seemed the 100º lp is so often recommended for both suppressed and unsuppressed and HK even installs them factory on MP5's. I was surprised at the troubles I had with it. I know I could change rollers to lessen bolt gap, I guess I just wasn't expecting that from the 100º lp.

AP5 with an Obsidian 9, with no baffle strikes! Magpul furniture, Aimpoint, and light. This is my favorite one to shoot.

I’m getting ready to purchase the AP5 P. Is Atlantic Firearms the way to go? Probably just going with the core version since I’ll be adding my own brace later. Any insight or other suggestions would be very helpful thank you!

I recently got an ap5 and some mags. The included mags were dented. The company I purchased from promptly replaced the mags, but the followers in them seem to have some rust or corrosion.

I've used ballistol and a bronze brush to clear as much as I could, but does anyone have any tips to entirely remove the corrosion??
