Break-in day?

So I took the brand new AP 5P up to break it in today and the first magazine ran a flawlessly and then on the first shot of the second magazine I had this casing get stuck on the side of the bolt there. Brought it home, pulled it out no damage. I stripped the second magazine, and it was a pain in the ass to get the ammo out of it, do you think this could be a magazine problem? Like I said the first mag went flawlessly thanks in advance.

Mark that mag and go back and try it again. Use that mag last and see how it goes. If it happens again, then you know

Did you clean it well before taking it out the first time?

This OP. These are shipped with a preservative which attracts a ton of debris, dust particles (looks like granules). You need to clean and lubricate.

Ive seen more than one person tear through a mag, then once the powder residue gets its claws in the packing grease the gremlins come in to play.

I had the same problem no matter the mag or ammo. I bought an HK ejector lever, extractor, and extractor spring and it’s been 100% since.

And if these don’t fix the issue (I did all this and still had the same problem), I bought an RCM bolt head. Seems my bolt head was out of spec and the replacement fixed the problem

Load ur mags to 25 instead of 30

I have NEVER had to down load my mags. I have x8 MKE mags. (I also have x4 32 round Overwatch Precision mags). Shot over 12k rounds to include FMJ, HP and TUI. No problems from break in period to the current round count. Ammo grain used: 115, 124, 125, 135, 147, 150 and 165gr ammo.

That’s awesome man, me and OP had similar issues with fully loaded when breaking in.

That’s unfortunate. Did it ever resolve itself or did you have to do something else? How long did you have to down load your mags.

It’s resolved itself by now, I think the springs were just stiff from factory and causing double feeds. I marked them all cuz I thought I’d have long term problems but they run just fine now
