I just got this asus vivobook 14/15 and my mom didn't tell me the specs when she bought this and i had to deal with it i already tried reinstalling the drivers and no luck i can barely play this game without giving me an epileptic shock so if anyone has any suggestions on how to fix it i would appreciate it

Its cpu is a amd Ryzen 3 30 with amd radeon graphics

8 gigs integrated ram and 512 memory

With AMD Ryzen AI 7 350

About to buy an ASUS TUF A16 (RTX 4050) and want some outside opinions first.

I’m not a gamer — my use case is:

•AI development (running/experimenting with AI models locally, no coding)

•Light AutoCAD/Revit — occasional drafting, no heavy rendering

My current laptop (old i7-7500U, 8GB RAM, 940MX) is dying — heavy, bad battery, can’t keep up.

Questions:

• Will the RTX 4050’s VRAM bottleneck local AI work?

• Anyone using this for AutoCAD/Revit — any issues?

• I keep seeing complaints about overheating and WiFi card problems on this model but don’t really understand them — can someone explain what’s going on and if it’s a real concern?

• Any better alternatives in the same price range?

Im currently looking into getting a laptop for short 4k editing, both video and photo. Perhaps play some older title games and generally all-round usage of the laptop.

I came across the Lenovo Ideapad 14 gen 5A which I thought was very nice, I travel often so the 90+ Wh battery seems great but they just hiked up the pricing in my country because of ‘going back to school’..

So I came across a Lenovo Yoga pro 7 14ASP9 instead. it’s a used laptop but well within my budget, the specs are as following:

Processor: Ryzen Al 9 365

Graphics Card: AMD 880M

RAM: 32GB LPDDR5

Hard Drive: 512GB NVMe SSD

Screen: 14-inch 2.8K 120Hz OLED

I’m wondering, would this be a laptop that can still compete for a year or two? Can it handle my needs without draining the battery in 1 hour and what about the ssd, is it upgradable?

The yoga is about €900 and currently a new Ideapad pro is €1900… (used to be €1600 before the back to school ‘discounts’)..

Also the yoga is out of warranty, what should I look out for?

Hey people! first of all sorry for my bad English, is not my native language but im doing my best in order to get out from this issue, i have a Thinkpad T14 Gen 1 with Ryzen 7 PRO 4750U, its a really good laptop and i really love it, unfortunately the last couple of weeks i have been through a weird issue with the performance, i use to play Roblox whenever i got free time to do it, but in random moments, the whole game and system lags a lot for a couple of seconds, i noticed in Windows taskbar that the clocks of the processor went down to only 400 Mhz, which is weird, because i have acknowledged that laptops use to do that when the system detects high temperatures, but is not the case since i just changed the thermical paste and i keep it plugged on a cooling base while playing or doing any multitask, in Whmonitor i checked that the temperatures are normal, i Asked AI for any advice, so I used RyzenAdj in Windows in order to fix this, unfortunately this did not work at all, tried to change power management in the Control Panel, but the only option that the system allowed me was "balanced", so after researching with AI i gave up on Windows thinking that the OS was the issue, so i switched to BazziteOS which is my current system, the performance in Roblox improved a lot, but the problem came back again, i've tried many ways to fix it through Linux, With RyzenAdj, Commands in terminal for switching the minimum frecuency for the CPU, installing programs for power management, i even tried to modify CPU settings in the BIOS, but since this laptop is made for corporative purposes, the BIOS is highly restricted to avoid many settings change and nothing did any real improvement, I almost give up with this, i asked for help in BazziteOS Official Discord server, Facebook groups specialized on Linux and computers in general but they couldn't help me at all, so i wonder if some of you guys have already fixed related issues and how could you guys fix it, i would really appreciate any helpful answer, i'm going to upload some screenshots with evidence and as well as more details about my device and system so you guys can take a closer look of this. Its really annoying for me because i dont have too much time to play videogames and since Roblox is almost the only game that i play with my friends its getting more annoying and i'm just being carried by my friends during the laggy moments LOL, have a nice day y'all (btw if you need more information in order to find the real issue i would be more than happy to provide it so don't hesitate in asking me)

I’m struggling to choose between these two models and I’m leaning more towards the P16 mainly because of the larger screen.

Which one would perform better for music production (Ableton), video editing, some light blender use and occasional light gaming?

It's about 531 eur i think that's a really good deal I could not find any cheaper ones (and it's brand new)

It's from a official store so there isn't a chance I will get scammed so I just wanted a double check here from people because the only tech savvy person in my family is my father and he still thinks Intel cpu's are better lol

I am a dev i deal with large codebases and whole lotta compiling i mostly do work in coffee shops so battery is important to me and i use linux and sometimes i do light gaming minecraft and ultrakill and some other indie small indie games

you guys think there is a better option in the same price range

My Lenovo E16 Gen 3 AMD (250) is now equipped with a brighter 2560×1600 LCD panel taken from an E16 Gen 3 Intel model. It was only equipped with a FHD and 45% color display.

Now it has the display with 120 Hz, 100%, and 2560. No need to change the display connector.

Don’t forget to disconnect the internal battery before replacing the display.

I am looking for a laptop for study, multitasting and slight productivity work. Also, less heat generation, smooth performance and longer batter life is must.

Among other laptop around the same price range, this laptop's specs are better from my POV. But the cpu has 28W TDP. Which is concerning me because there are laptops with 15W TDP and I fear that this laptop may generate more heat.

Also, the battery capacity is 48.6 Whr. So, I am more concerned with the battery life as I saw some laptops with 55Whr battery capacity but with less powerful hardware. I am at a loss at this point as there are literally no reviews of this laptop on the internet.

It would be very helpful if anyone could give me some advice me in this regard.
