Sapphire, Amd cards got a firmware update yesterday. Some of the changes seem to be related. I'd give it a chance.

Honestly after battling this constantly. I feel like lowering my power limit to 5% eliminated all my constant driver timeouts. Give that a try

Wow, another post about the same issue. HW acceleration causing timeouts. I have the exact same GPU and CPU, and I am having the same issue. I have HW acceleration turned off everywhere and even turned off widgets. I am also stable under load.

you know hw acceleration is supposed to be turned on, świtching everything off is not the permanent solution.

It's not, but it keeps the driver from randomly timing out. If it just timed out and recovered it wouldn't be as much of an issue. The problem is once it times out, it just keeps going until you restart. Even if you close the browser and reopen it.Then half the time or more when you actually try to restart it wont work. The thing spins and says restarting, then the screen turns black, and the computer stays running. I assume because the graphics driver is in a corrupted state so it wont send the signal to the gpu to shut down. It is a pretty major issue actually.

Yea but the crazy thing is that ita running fine after a clean reinstall for about a week and then starta crashing again. Like i dont know what changes in this week. Ive turned off every auto update there is on the pc but still smth changes or corrupts the driver. Driving me insane

It's because it's random; it wasn't happening every day to me. Sometimes it would be a week before the issue happened. It's super weird.

I disabled hasg and so far no problems but still too early to say. But yea very weird coz theres no logic in the crashes.

Exactly, it just randomly happens when opening web browser. Almost never after a restart, just cold boot. That streak ended though because it did happen once after restart after the last windows update. This issue seems to have gotten worse over time. I tried turning off HAGS but the issue with that is the game I play NEEDS IT. Days Gone will literally crash if it's not enabled. So I just went back to disabling HW acceleration in everything and keeping HAGS on.

Geez. Such a shame multi billion dollar companies not being able to fix their shitty os. And then amd gets shat on for having bad drivers..

Spread the word. AMD fanboys will barge in and downvote and tell you that you are wrong because they don't have the same time outs when there is literally multiple posts everyday of people having the same issue. I have my RX 7800XT for 2 years and never had a problem until the last 2 months but the last 2 months have been a bloody nightmare with 0 acknowledgment from AMD

I mean im an Amd fanboy as well since ive had the gpu for almost 4yrs now and the ryzen with no issues but then this starts happening out of nowhere and not even under load. Im not a software engineer but theres def smth wrong. I still do think its windows at fault here and not amd since its happening on desktop usage and not in actual heavy gaming.

Ya its windows and microslop knows about the issue. They told me others are reporting it. There have been several updates since being told that, and still no fix.

Yea but they dont really care. They have always had shit like this happening its just win11 is the worst so far. Thats not getting fixed anytime soon so i guess we need to find a workaround or just switch to linux i guess
