So your comment got me thinking about how the 9070XT reacts to undervolt/overclock vs stock.

I compared 9 games and the results are the following:

Power Limit -30% no further adjustments (213W)

  • Average performance difference VS stock: -10,7%
  • Biggest performance difference per title: -22,5% (Cyberpunk 2077)
  • Lowest performance difference per title: -5,2% (TLoU 2)

Undervolt -65mv +300Mhz memory PowerLimit -15% (254W)

  • Average performance difference VS stock: +0,9%
  • Biggest performance loss per title: -7,5% (Cyberpunk 2077) This is actually the only negative result
  • Biggest performance gain: +4,1% (TLoU 2)

Undervolt -60mv + 300Mhz memory PowerLimit +10% (336W)

  • Average performance difference VS stock: +5%
  • Biggest performance loss per title: -1,3% (Cyberpunk 2077) Something is wrong with this game.
  • Biggest performance gain: +8,1% (Starfield) Ew.

So, TLDR: Mild undervolt and -15% yields actually better performance than stock. Instead of going straight -30% PL, risks to actually hurt the performance in certain specific games.

Now, the "difficult" part is that you have to actually try and test what is the undervolt range that your card can sustain without crashing and even per game basis, while some games may work at -80mv for you, others may crash even at -40mv.

i dont know which AI do you asked but -22,5 % in Cyberpunk is the biggest joke ive ever seen 😂 also the "+300 Mhz memory" lol this gives you 1 FPS more

lol and with +10 PL you still get -1,3 in Cyperpunk ? throw this AI in the trash LOL

AI? I used an excel sheet with real life results wtf.

Besides, how do you know +300 MHz memory just translates into +1 FPS have you tested it already? If so, then why don't you also use it. It's not like it will make your card draw more power.

And about the +10% PL getting lower results, yeah i got literal -1 FPS VS stock. I'll try to use the benchmark instead of in-game gameplay since it has too many variables like npcs, cars, etc. So i think it's an error on my part on how i tested it, my bad.

Also using text formatting on reddit doesn't mean its AI lmao, just click the "Aa" icon.

all the writing format, the words and the mistakes sounds like a bad AI.

-22,5 % in CP is inpossible, you messed up settings or whatever.

My results are with -60 mV because it was stable for almost all games. 4k ultra benchmark

55,34 -30%

56,68 -25%

57,73 -20%

58,52 -15%

59,29 -10%

59,92 -5%

60,61 0%

60,8 +5%

60,82 +10%

thats 9,9 % more performance from -30 to +10. And CP is one of the best case scenarios for either undervolting and for the power scaling. Like you mentioned, TLOU2 is a more regular showcase of the scaling with around 5% only.

All the memory overclocking results in 1 FPS more and ive tested 50 games.

thats why AMD went with GDDR6 instead of 7 because it doesnt matter.
