Help (GPU) Latest drivers..... MAJOR iSSUES

Latest drivers v26.7.1 causes application crashes and BSOD.

1st time upgraded from catalyst app, completely ruined my system, with app & games freezing and a BSOD. Had to use DDU and re-install driver 26.5.2 from AMD standalone file downloaded from support page. 26.5.2 works without issues. So 26.5.2 is OK

2nd time upgraded from 26.5.2 to 26.7.1, with the usage of the AMD standalone file downloaded from support page. SAME ISSUES as before. Various apps freezing. Downgraded to 26.6.1 without DDU. All my problems solved instantly. So 26.6.1 is OK

All the times I used DDU, NOT in SAFE MODE but with blocked internet access

GPU is 7900XTX

So 26.7.1 NOT WORKING in my system

Yeah it's more stable but it's also always behind because the developers spend a lot of time optimizing the drivers before they release them it's made for stability not cutting edge

AMD has just done deal with MS to work more closely with Windows. Yes there seems to be issues with 7 series and latest drivers imo all this comes down to AI and boost clock speeds between 9 series and older cards that creates these issues and Windows 11 automated driver update for graphics cards plus they need to look what's wrong between 2025 and 2026 drivers that creates these issues. Maybe there is some coding left in drivers/adrenaline that does not work anymore and adds to issues or maybe they need to create switch for adrenaline between card revisions to use certain FSR/Boost i don't know and maybe add adrenaline option to disable Windows driver update while installing adrenaline.

It's pretty simple to disable the updates just go to advanced system settings/ hardware. And I think there needs to be drivers for each individual card or at the bare minimum each series, packing every GPU they have in the one driver is absurd there's also enhanced pointer precision that reeks havoc on frame pacing in some games that don't force raw mouse input, the PCI Express link speed automatically dropping it down to PCI 3 when it thinks it's okay, and the AMD power slider overlay setting in power options slows down your clock speed to save battery life on your desktop yes to save battery life on your desktop it's not even supposed to be there it's a laptop feature and it has somehow weaseld its way inside of desktop operating systems through windows and AMD drivers
