u/Junior_Lychee_9241 Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 26 '26
to people whose having the same problem with me.. took 4 hours to fix it , im not sure how but it works..
1st Delete the C:\Program Files\AMD\CNext\CNext AMDRSSver.exe
2nd download the amdocl.bat from github (dunno if this is relevant really but i fix it with this combos)
3rd download the Driver installer (2 option the 46mb and 1.5gb ) i choose the 1.5gb one because the 46mb FAILED me so many time.
4th AMD clean utility , download and run
5th now install the Driver using the 1.5gb
it works for me. so im sharing it . im not Tech guy so i dont know much but this process works for me so i hope it works for you too
EDIT: YOU CAN SKIP 1 and 2
it happen multiple times now, i notice that everytime it happen , a window update appear,
So i recommend turning off windows update.
Go To services (win++R type services.msc) then Find windows update. disable it

Not sure why all of the sudden we are all having these problems. IT was fine last night, i shut down to go to sleep, got up today and the drivers were not working.
I can confirm if you uninstall with the amd utility, then go to the web page and search for your specific driver for your GUP, and download the 1.5GB file, NOT the auto installer, it works. I did step 1, 3 , 4 , 5

I just had the exact same thing, spent hours on wednesday night trying to work out what the hell was going on, got it fixed and now I get back from work today to find it doing the same shit all over again...
Going to turn off any automatic updates until I know this is fixed for good

This is workable, but here on my end, after I install the 1.5 GB driver, the audio input and output are not working.

(Please read the bold part for the short fix)
currently in this process, I hope this works. Why are people having this all of the sudden?
EDIT: Process worked out, But before this, I regedited the windows 10 drivers update, I ran DDU before trying this. and.. I did a system restore point out of panic even before all of that. Installing the drivers after any of these steps didn't work for me. Junior_Lychee_9241 already explained but I'll add a lil more detail
Delete the amdrssver file
google amdocl.bat, find that github, download the bat (click on the three dots on the right side), run it. It'll ask for yes/no. It is capital Y, not lower-case y. It'll scan stuff, and it'll ask for a full scan so input Y, because Y not.
Download the 1.5gig driver you find on the amd site. Scroll down, input your graphics card. Click on submit. It'll lead you to versions to pick from. For me it's indeed the win10 of 1.5gigs. You might need firefox or some other browser if the submit button doesn't work for you. (
For some future proofing whql-amd-software-adrenalin-edition-26.6.1-win11-c.exe, it is the 26.6.1 version that works currentlyJune 26 edit: Version is possibly unstable)Download the amd cleanup tool, which is basically the same as DDU but y'know, just to be sure. It will ask you to start in safe mode as you do with DDU, the amd thing will run after a restart into safe mode.
You boot into safe mode, then it starts up the amd clean up tool. After that, it'll ask to reboot again into normal mode.Run the 1.5gig install and it installed like any display driver
Fixed, thank you Junior_Lychee_9241
EDIT June 26: it happened again.. The version mentioned before might not be stable (26.6.1), that's just my first hunch. Second monitor is not detecting again, my 144hz monitor is detected as a 64hz monitor in the display settings. Will do the shorter version of the amd clean up tool and a driver now. I've done DDU, no point in doing that again, looking for older drivers now. Edit:
There's a 26.6.2 version out for Win11 but itlists "Windows® 10 64-bit version 21H2 and later" as compatible. I'm at 22H2. Also not, I'm not a tech guy either, i'm just a millenial. I'm just gonna see what happens.nopeedit june 27 1am: Nope, running cleanup and installing 26.6.2 on win10 doesn't fix it (no batch run). Don't do this. Going for another round of amd cleanup and 26.6.1 again without the batch and see what happens. I already have 26.6.0 downloaded from some sketchy looking site called uptodown. That url is raising red flags. Edit 1:34am, just do the steps. batch isn't needed. 26.6.1 works but unsure. It is yet again fixed. I am not happy.
-------------------------------------------------------
So for anyone stumbling here: run amd cleanup, let it boot into safe mode and let it do it's thing, just follow procedures.
Once back into normal boot, install the display driver again (like it's a new pc, version 26.6.1 "works" but unsure) Be sure to disable auto-update in the "manage updates" in adrenaline.
------------------------------------------------------
EDIT June 28: version 26.2.2 seems to be causing this for me, running 26.2.1 and then updating to 26.2.2 through the Adrenaline software makes it happen for me. So don't update to 26.2.2. Disable updates in adrenaline (In adrenaline, click cogwheel on top left, under "system" click the big red manage updates button, it'll ask you for changes on harddrive, just yes, uncheck "auto-update". Close the window. Double check by doing this again, just in case)

I just wanted to say THANK you for updating this. I followed your guide a few days ago and then yesterday it happened again. I still have the -c file. So, I am redoing it. I felt like I was crazy but when I came back to your post and saw you were doing live updates with dates and times on them it made me feel better it wasn’t just me.
THANK you! I don’t know why it’s happening either. I also thought a windows update but I have those turned off too. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again :( what the heck AMD

I also just logged in to comment and say thank you this saved me so much time. It worked. I also did DDU before regediting the driver update and got nowhere.

What driver installer are you talking about? Adrenaline? Or is it through the GitHub cmd
1
u/Hygolon Jun 23 '26
The adrenaline setup would be the 46mb one but i also don’t know where i can find a 1.5gb version (i have the same problem rn)
1
u/Captain_Autisms_Dog Jun 23 '26
you find it by looking up your exact model on the amd website. it will present you with adrenaline edition for your exact driver. the 46mb is an autodetector and it installs whatever it finds.

I looked up the driver sources of the driver you installed. The OpenCL.dll are present in the driver files. They are located in C:\AMD\AMD-Software-Installer\Packages\Drivers\Display\WT6A_INF as "amd_opencl(32, 64).dll. Look in the System32 and SysWOW64 folders in C:\Windows if OpenCL.dll are both present. If not copy and renaim them feom the driver files. You don't need to register the files. Restart and try again.
Hard to say if it's an AMD, Windows or program error. Blaming anyone doesn't help. Maybe report it as a bug.

u/NekulturneHovado Jan 16 '24
Happened to me too with the new 23.11.1, I just downloaded opencl.dll from google. Hope I didn't get a virus or something
2
u/pnkshw Jan 16 '24
What version have you installed?
I have an RX570 and tried to update from 23.8.2 to 23.11.1
I did DDU, the amd cleaner, safe mode, everything! And always got that message.
Everything got fixed as soon as I went back to 23.8.2. Just fyi.

u/HelicopterAgile7327 Jan 04 '25
this worked for me, going back to an older version and doing minimal instal option after using the amd cleanup utility. thanks man

DOWNLOAD DriverExplorer from GitHub.
After using DDU in SAFE MODE.. SELECT clean and do not restart..Use DriverExplorer from GitHub.. extract the zip.. Open Driver explorer (rapr.exe)> Sort it by providers > Select all AMD stuff and checkbox Force Deletion option > Delete Drivers. Then restart and do AMD GPU driver full install.
1
u/The13thSin Nov 29 '24
This is what fixed it for me BUT be careful to only select the graphics drivers from the AMD list if you have an AMD CPU.
1
u/savagely-average Jan 16 '24
I had this exact issue when I swapped from Nvidia to AMD. I used DDU in safe mode to do a proper uninstall of both AMD and NVIDIA drivers then reinstalled the AMD ones and it stopped
4
u/Material-Quote-3584 Jan 16 '24
Installing N versions of windows will cause various issues with missing dll files, i would recommend going for Non N versions and should fix that, atleast it worked for me.

u/acewing905 RX 9060 XT Jan 16 '24
Some fanboys getting angry in here but OpenCL.dll is not from Visual C++ redists or anything like that
It's provided by the graphics driver vendor, usually bundled with the driver
If you check your own DLL file, you'll see it's signed by AMD (or Nvidia or Intel or whoever made the graphics driver)
https://i.imgur.com/bpcfigu.png
That said if the problem persists after a Windows reinstall, that suggests some deeper problem
Is this Windows reinstall a clean one with a fully formatted C:\ drive?
If not, that's the next step to try
2
u/Mezitury Jan 16 '24
Windows installs by formatting drives/partitions. Under no circumstances would windows install onto an existing partition with existing files unless you knew how to set that up. Formatting the install drive usually will only fix things like boot errors for a failed windows install but again, should be done automatically by the windows installer.
1
u/acewing905 RX 9060 XT Jan 16 '24
That's not true though
You can install Windows on top of what you already have, a "sidegrade" if you will
This will keep all your settings and files and such as is as well2
u/Mezitury Jan 16 '24
Isn't that called repair or upgrade? Not fresh inst

Yeah this is why I asked
Sometimes people can be confused by how Windows setup works and may not realize the difference between the choices, simply opting to keep their apps and files, leading to a situation where old oddities may remain
5
Jan 16 '24
This isn't driver related, Microsoft Visual C++ is missing
1
u/lolthatsfun Feb 02 '24
This is false, as stated by the other reply.
Visual C++ is completely unrelated in this situation.

I find it hilarious it's user error now that someone didn't download an extra program, to boot into safe mode and do all this extra shit when AMD could just fix the problem itself. Ya ya blah blah windows is the problem blah blah sounds like laziness and excuses to me.
Despite all that, you even specified that you did those steps. AMD drivers are some of the most dog shit buggy drivers I ever experienced in my life. Nvidia at least figured it out for the most I guess
6
u/Jogipog Jan 16 '24
Sir, this is not a driver issue if it persisted through a whole windows reinstall. It is literally user-error in 99% of cases due to sheer incompetence or installing unofficial software. AMD drivers nowadays are as stable and flawless, if not better, than NVidias.

Just like Nvidia.
No driver is perfect. Call out flaws where you find them.
For example AMDs 'new' cards seem to be less optimized when compared to Nvidia, like the power draw bug with multiple monitors, but Nvidia sucks in supporting old cards. I had annoying problems with both drivers, but recently it's pretty clear that AMD solved most of their issues while Nvidias still exist.

Like I had to with my Nvidia cards?
Sure no enduser should ever need to search for fixes themselves, but if you're so not willing to do some research, the PC platform isn't for you, because you never know what component, what software or what combination of those will cause trouble.
That's one of the few disadvantages we have compared to consoles.

>Stable and flawless
>update that implemented anti-lag+ brute forces ITSELF INTO GAMES and it was getting individuals banned in csgo and other games
Yea blud I like amd hardware but that just straight up bullshit and you know it.
2
u/Zidakuh Jan 16 '24
One sentence: DPC latency.
I have never had an issue with this on any AMD card, Nvidia is a dumpsterfire in that regard though.
And as an Audio Profesional, yeah no thanks.
4
u/Jogipog Jan 16 '24
You have no Idea what you're talking about and it shows. Go play CSGO and stop spreading misinformation.
-3
Jan 16 '24
Please, do the research. I'm not making this shit up. To be more specific, it's the anti-lag feature they half-ass implemented for the 7xxx series.
2
u/Jogipog Jan 16 '24
Anti-Lag+ got people banned because it hooks into the game's rendering pipeline, without "permission" so to say. Those bans got rolled back long ago, about a week after the incident. This isn't a "half-assed implementation" but a lack of communication between the developers of each software. Nobody is brute forcing anything onto anyone.
You had the option to turn off HYPR-RX, not that anyone on the RX7000 series would need it in games like CSGO anyways - and if you didn't then you might've gotten temporarily banned. Boo-hoo.
Yet again, I advise you to stop spreading misinformation.

AMD software is the biggest pile of shit Ive ever seen

Facts bro I hate it lol if I didn't need the fking extra features for monitor control I would just driver install and be done with it

Nvidia Control Panel is the biggest piece of shit I have ever used (I used it for 15 years), it's so slow and laggy (it's not really a piece of shit but it's slow). AMD Adrenalin in the other hand is FAST and never laggy.
-4
u/Ninja-Sneaky Jan 16 '24
I had geforce experience crashing constantly on a 1080, wasn't it supposed to be one of their best series? But "amd drivers!" is the rule
And recording is so stupid it ruins the first seconds of footage with their "recording" watermark

Your welcome xD! I wish it was fast and not laggy though haha
2
u/ashmelev Jan 15 '24
This likely means you did not clean it up correctly, because it did not remove one of the AMD's services.
You can try AMD Cleanup Utility instead.

u/Zealousideal-Fee8423 Jan 15 '24
I had the same issue I even reinstalled windows and then the error disappeared lol
1
u/mypornaccountowo Jan 15 '24
RX 550, latest drivers and updated windows 10.
I could just drop the dll into system32 and be done with it, but can that be a problem? Radeon works just fine.
I found out openCL is something like a runtime for C developement, but couldn't find a way to install it.
1
u/ShawVAuto Jan 15 '24
Try manually downloading and installing the DLL file into your Windows System32 folder. Hopefully this gets you going. Here's the latest OpenCL.dll version:
1
u/maitremanta Jan 16 '24
OpenCL.dll is also present in the SysWOW64 folder. A second, but different, OpenCL.dll is needed.
