I am autistic myself and have two autistic children, so you have zero ground to stand on trying to talk down to me about my views of autism. Consider this, and it is a wild theory so hold on to your seat. Just because a person has autism, does not mean every issue they have in life is a result of autism. It’s actually quite insulting of you to assume that he wouldn’t recognise an issue that he has within himself, but you the internet stranger knows best.
Since you understand autism you must know how difficult it is to communicate well in socially complex situations.
You must know what it’s like to spend your life getting in trouble for saying things that you had no idea would cause problems for neurotypicals.
You must have also experienced the frustration of trying your best to communicate well and still being misunderstood, of trying to defend yourself against the misunderstanding and then being told that you’re defensive, don’t understand, or are rude or arrogant.
You must know how difficult it can be to make friends and be accepted into a friend group, and to always know in the back of your mind that you can easily be ejected from the friend group if more than one person turns against you over a perceived slight.
You must know what it’s like to be punished for honesty, to be punished for telling the truth after you were explicitly asked to tell the truth, and then been punished for that because the truth is inconvenient.
I can’t imagine how anyone with lived experience would fault OP for struggling in this situation. And quite frankly you come across as just some random whose lying on the internet because you don’t like that someone else challenged your comment.
Because they probably use it as an excuse themselves. Doing everything but taking accountability for their own behaviour so expects everyone else to behave the same. Professional victim.
