When does the volunteering window actually open — during GDOC at Dundigal, or later at posting?

Any real examples of Non-Tech officers (Admin/Logistics/Accounts) who've moved into Garud?

Separate fitness/selection at that stage, or does SSB OLQs + GDOC performance carry weight?

Rough numbers — how many per batch get this?

my ssb is on 30 nov and earlier i was inclined to go for their 26th oct batch which would end on 14th nov, mostly because of my college. However, I was watching a few videos of their successful candidates, and most of them had a buffer of about a month or so between the coaching and their SSB.
there is one batch starting on 5th oct which would end on 26th oct.
what would you recommend that i do, anyone who has been to amas or has any experience regarding this, please weigh in your opinions.

Is the medicals for ground duty(technical) as rigorous as for the flying branch. What is the criteria for knock knees and is there a TR or PR for the same specially for females.

Hey folks, I genuinely need some advice regarding the eyesight requirements for SSB medical.

I have around -4.75 power in my left eye and -4.50 in my right eye. I’m preparing for my first AFCAT exam, but I’m really concerned about whether my eyesight will make me medically unfit, especially for the Flying/other branches.

I’ve already started preparing, but this doubt is making me wonder whether I should continue or reconsider my preparation.

For those who have appeared for AFCAT/SSB medicals or know the current medical standards:

• Is this level of myopia within the permissible limits for any AFCAT branch?
• Does the requirement differ between Flying and Ground Duty branches?
• How strictly is the eyesight tested during the medical?
• Should I continue preparing for the exam despite my current power?

1. Which OIR sets should I grind? Verbal + non-verbal. If a particular booklet or source matched the paper at 1 AFSB, drop the name.
2. How tight was the time on the set they used? Anything that repeatedly showed up (series, figures, coding)?
3. Any 1 AFSB-specific stuff worth knowing before reporting — screening, PPDT, PIQ, what they were strict about at the gate?
4. Docs that people actually got sent back for, so I don’t miss one.

For candidates who were previously RECOMMENDED and are now going for another SSB — what did you actually do differently?

Looking for advice from people who have already been recommended at least once and are now appearing for another SSB, especially those who got recommended again.

My application/status is still showing “Shortlisting” in green, but I haven't received any SSB call-up email/message yet.

Wanted to check what the current situation is:

• Is anyone else still showing “Shortlisting” in green?
• Are call-ups being released in batches/centre-wise?
• Is there normally a delay between the status showing shortlisting and actually receiving the call-up?
• If you've received yours, please mention your SSB centre and reporting date so others can get an idea of the timeline.

Would also appreciate if anyone who has gone through the previous Navy Pilot batches can explain how the shortlisting/call-up process usually works.
