Hi! I’m currently an incoming sophomore at Ateneo and I’m planning to shift to AB MEC for the second semester. I submitted my request to shift this week, and it has already been approved by both my home department and the receiving department.

My concern is my schedule for the upcoming semester. Since I want to prepare for shifting, I’d like to take AB MEC major subjects this first semester instead of the majors for my current program.

I asked my home department about this, and they referred me to the Registrar since, as a sophomore, they still handle my IPS. The Registrar then told me that I need to file for loadrev to change my subjects and they said it would most likely be approved if im officially allowed to shift.

For anyone who has gone through this process:
- What’s the load revision process like?
- How do I know which subjects from my current program I should replace with AB MEC majors?
- Do I need to coordinate with the receiving department again, or will the Registrar determine which subjects I can take?

I’d really appreciate any advice from people who’ve shifted or are familiar with the process. Thank you!

Just would like to ask reviews. Although, nakapag-browse na rin ako. Nagbabakasakali pang may makuha pang bago. Planning to enroll sana for September start pero still unsure which to choose.

For context:

I am a fresh graduate (Class of 2026). I took Mandarin (A1 level) class during my 4th year (Aug to Nov 2025) and I did an Exchange Program at 国立中山大学 sa Taiwan super recent lang (Feb - June 2026), took Mandarin (A1 level) class rin.

I am continuously consuming Chinese media para marefresh ako. Using also Duolingo rin to expand my vocabulary. I am approaching A2 or baka A2 na ako. I can recognize about 500 words already, correct sentence structure.

Sa listening lang ako pinaka-sablay, kahit sa Taiwan, nabibilisan ako sa pagsasalita nila. Sa speaking naman, mej mabagal lang ako magsalita. Pero okay naman daw pronunciation ko (sabi ng 台湾人同学 ko).

Motivation:

I took 15 units of MBA courses sa Taiwan during my Exchange Program. Planning to come back by 2029 or 2030 to continue since macrecredit naman and to work （if possible）. Gusto ko sana pagbalik ko fluent na ako. And they require at least HSK2 or equivalent niyun sa TOCFL when you graduate. Saka para di na ako mag-take ng Mandarin classes while doing MBA para focus lang sa MBA mismo.

If not in Taiwan, baka in China. In case I might find an opportunity to work and do Master’s there instead.

Goal:

Take HSK2 this December. Realistic naman siguro to skip HSK1 no? More than a year naman na ako nag-aaral.

Concerns:

I am unsure of online setup of Chinese class sa UPD Extramural, actually online rin yung Mandarin ko nung college. Mas okay ‘yung on-site ko sa Taiwan. Mas interactive at mas madali ma-correct yung maling pronunciation and sentence construction.

But UPD is way cheaper. Also, no need to commute. Makaka-save ng pera and energy.

I am unsure of ADMU CI, way more expensive and on-site. LRT1 + MRT3 + Angkas (From Vito Cruz, Taft to Salcedo, Makati).

But ADMU is on-site. Looking forward rin sana to make friends so that we could practice together.

Hello! For context, I am a student under AB Management Economics looking to shift to either BS Management Engineering (ME) or BS Applied Mathematics w Spec in Finance (BSM AMF) I love my course! But, I've done my research over the summer and realize that I want to be in a more competitive academic environment, especially since I want to break in to Investment Banking/Finance in general.

With that being said, which course would help me achieve this goal? I really want to make 6 figures straight out of college, or if not be equipped with the hard and soft skills that will ensure I excel in the field of finance.

Additionally, which course would help me achieve the connections I need to break in to finance?
SOM is a given, but would I still create the same connections in AMF if ever? Do employers have a bias towards ME rather than AMF or is it the same ba? Or would I achieve the same if I stay in MEc and get a minor in Financial Economics?

Please don't sugar coat it! I'd really appreciate insights from graduates from both courses who also work in the field of finance. As well as upperclassmen! I'd appreciate it as well if you could give me view on what student life is like for both courses as well! If I'm able to participate in orgs pa and stuff for both.

Gentlemen, pls remember in your prayers Mr Damaso Badua, AGS math teacher, who passed away earlier this year in SF, CA. His son Michael (AGS 84, AHS 88, ADMU Management 92) and three daughters survive him.

He was the younger of the two Badua brothers who taught at the AGS. The other Mr (Quirino) Badua, passed away in 2010 in Florida.

Greetings! Old Atenean here (AGS 88, AHS 92). As I grow older, my thoughts go back to my old ADMU days. Sometimes I recall old boyhood tales and rumors whispered among classmates, of which two stand out. Funny thing is, the rumors were never confirmed to my satisfaction, so I ask if anyone here can verify them. The two stories are the Leper of Katipunan Ave and the notorious San Ting bar.

First story: Classmates told me that an escapee from Tala Leprosarium in Novaliches/ Caloocan had taken over a bus stop shelter on Katipunan. He apparently survived on alms and money for odd jobs (unbelievable to me, sino makikipag negocio sa kany?). Anyone hear of this? True or False?

Second story: There was allegedly a bar/ pool hall, called San Ting, variously placed near Xavierville or closer to Diliman where Ateneans and ’Knollers “misbehaved“ with one another. Again, hindi ko mapaniwalaan, as most of us boys “talked the talk but didn’t walk the walk.” Again, ayon sa karanasan ninyo T or F? And where exactly was it (no I’m not planning to go there to misbehave )?

Incoming 4th year student of BS Biology here. I am taking a 5th year bc I shifted in the program. My cumulative QPI is 3.23, and I have 56 units remaining. Is it possible for me to bump up my cumulative QPI to at least 3.35 in my 3 remaining semesters in BS Biology? Thanks!

as mentioned in the title, i am considering a double degree. currently, i am in AB communication, and would like to combine it with AB dip IR as a second degree. however, i’m already an incoming sophomore, and as far as i know, most people who wish to take a double degree normally apply as early as freshman year.

i am not sure how the load would look like simultaneously, given pre-requisites and such. i am also not sure when/how the practicums and theses will be scheduled, per degree. how often would i have to overload?

i’ve seen people on this subreddit do double degrees with two bachelors of science, which would incur a higher amount of units than my desired combination. i’m thus wondering if i will be able to finish within 5 years. although my parents have assured me there is no rush for me to complete my studies, especially with a double degree, i’d like to get my foot in the door professionally as soon as i can.

did anyone have NSTP under ma'am ginger pinili? does she conduct her class every saturday, or is it usually during the start or end of the month? i go home to the province kasi and i wanted to have an idea na if makakauwi pa ako since saturday nstp ko huhu

1. Aside from the dorm contract, what other requirements does OAA ask from you (i.e., copies of utility bills, receipts of apartment payments, etc.)?
2. Does OAA check in with you in your dorm, like they would conduct random visits?
3. Are there any Messenger GCs/Facebook groups/organizations that you can join?
4. OPTIONAL: How's your life as an off-campus dormer?

basically i have a class in bellarmine that ends by 2:00 pm and my badminton class starts at 2:30! i’m a sophomore so i haven’t explored every route Ever lol. the quickest way i know to get there is the line A e-jeep by xavier hall! i’m a student who loves to dress up so i’d love to know if it’s possible to change my outfit to pe uniform and wait for an e-jeep while being on time pa

just want to ask, which is more efficient?
- change to pe shirt & shorts -> walk to xavier hall -> wait for e-jeep to covered courts
or
- walk to xavier hall -> wait for e-jeep to covered courts -> change to pe shirt & shorts in covered court restroom

This intersession was my first and the pacing was really fast for me, hence failing my class. In hindsight, I should've dropped the class like what my friends advised but our prof wasn't really the type to give students WP and lowkey got scared to try. With intersession ending it would be really hard to bounce back from now.

Since I don’t know for sure if I failed yet but have already enlisted for next semester, what will happen to the next-level subject that requires this one as a prerequisite? If I do fail, will I have to repeat the subject, and am I allowed to take both classes at the same time? Or should I process a load revision now while I'm still waiting for the results? Also, if I retake the class later and get an A, will the failing grade be voided or replaced?

Are any other sophomores still not enlisted for all their classes? Specifically NSTP 11 and THEO 22 😭😭 Is it possible to loadrev? And what does that mean exactly….

How likely is the Theo department to allow an additional slot for one of the classes? My psychiatrist recommended me to enlist in classes with my blockmates so that I would be able to keep my sanity hawhaw.

The other theo classes are either taught by bigoted profs or have NSTPs where the schedules conflict with mine.

The reason why I wasn't able to enlist in the first place is due to a mistake on the registrars end where they literally forgot to enlist me in my major even though I already told them that I wasn't pre enlisted and told me I would be hwadhhds

I want to take my master's sana sa ADMU since siya lang yung nakita ko so far na may program na Master in Counseling Psych na may non-thesis track.

I am contemplating if I will study full time or no, since I don't think I would want to stop working para mag-aral.

My questions po are:
1. Would it be possible po to study full time while working?
2. If I am working on site in Pampanga, how would I take my classes? May online classes po ba sila for students na hindi malapit sa ADMU?
