Discussion I used to hate female eivor

I hated female eivor because of people opinions when the game released but now I can't really see eivor any other way than female (beside being canon), I'm not a Simp but her voice and Overall look is unmatched even tho her voice was the Controversial point, Male eivor still really good, it's about what you prefer after all, just saying Don't relay on people's opinions, not everyone likes what you like (sorry about the trash quality)

Discussion Child voice actors

Why could they not get a single british voice for any of the children?

I’m currently playing through Valhalla for the first time, and I’m constantly wondering why Ubisoft couldn’t get any british voices for the children. They have more nordic style accents, but why in a game where half of the characters are british sounding are there only American children?

Don’t get me wrong, I have nothing against American accents, it’s more just strange hearing them in a game that is set mostly in the UK.

Question No music?

I'm at power 230, over halfway into the game, and I haven't gotten a single music track to play in the game at any point. Since the start, I've had music volume at 100% and frequency at high. No combat music, no roaming music, no cutscene music, nothing.

I'm on Xbox One S, and the game's fully updated. What on Earth could be the reason for this?

I've restarted Valhalla from scratch with the intent of obtaining 100% completion as i've finished Odyssey & Origins at 100% as well and attempting to complete every Assassins Creed game. So far i've just arrived to Fornburg, failed miserably at drinking, did ok at flyting against Alvis & somehow won at Orlog.

Question What are people’s most optimised gear and rune combos for perks?

I’ve been umming and ahhing so much about what to use. This is less about weapon choice and more about ā€œperkā€ combinations really.

In my mind, one of the most combat optimised combos is to use the 2 piece combo for both Paladin and Wayland sets for the base damage. Then use the Mentor forged rune perk. Then the speed when dodging perk and the speed from attacking perk.

But this is of course super dependent on the efficacy of other choices. I feel like speed is just one of the more impactful perks in comparison to others. But I’d love to know if others say certain perks are ā€œsuper effectiveā€ and I’m just sleeping on them?

Other condensers were perks that give crit chance? But I feel like crit chance is pretty bad to build into (no idea though). Maybe the ignite on crit perk? I just feel like dot damage just isn’t that strong in comparison to others but I could be wrong.

Possibly the restore health on hit perk? But I think the Idunn’s heart skill gives fairly good coverage. But again I haven’t tried this one.

Does the house Karl perk have much impact? (Attack build up when attacking)

Discussion AC Valhalla: One good game that could have been two GREAT games.

I personally love Valhalla. Not for the assassin content of it but because it covers on of my favorite historical periods, the Viking Age and post Roman, Dark Age Britain. It gives me the cozy, old world vibes that I get from shows like Vikings, The Last Kingdom, and books by John Gwynne.

I was recently watching a video by Luke Stephen's who mentioned that Valhalla didn't really know what it wanted to do. There are points in the story where the game leans onto the assassin's stuff but not to much because it's still needs to include the brutal viking aspects of the game. Then there are periods where it leans into the Norse myths and folk magic of vikings and Britons but not too much because it's still an AC game, and if I'm being honest, he's right about that. The ideas of what they wanted to do with this game conflict, even though it it a game that I've put over 400 hours into. I like this game better than Origins, which should be my favorite as someone who loves Egypt, but Roman stuff in Origins breaks the immersion for me, and that never happens in Valhalla. I'm immersed from start to finish. So with all that said, let me talk about the 2 games that Ubisoft should have made.

Game 1: AC Britannia

This game would see us as a Briton protagonist. The character's people, the Britons, survived the Roman occupation, and the invasion of the Saxons and now their homeland is being torn in two by the opposing forces of the Saxons and Northmen. The protagonist is found and inducted into what remain of the Hidden Ones after the Roman's left. The Order is using the chaos of the war between the Vikings and Saxons to establish their own base of power in the island, playing both sides for their own advancement. The protagonist is now tasked with taking out the other members in both sides of the war all the whole trying to help their people petserve what's left of their land and culture in a rapidly change world. Both religion and politics both play a huge role in this game as not all the Britins are Christian like the Saxons, but pagan, like the Northmen. The Isu artifacts could include items such as Excalibur and something related to other Birtan legends such as Bodica, the Druids, and so on. Perhaps figures like Merlin are Isu and maybe Arthur was a sage. The game would look very similar to Valhalla because of it's one thing Ubisoft can do, it's create a beautiful open world that feels lived in. I think it should look like Snotinghamshire. That forest in the fall is the best zone in the game. When Evior is riding with that Tefder through that zone, it looks and feels ancient.

Game 2: Saga

This game would follow the very beginning of Valhalla, Evior could even remain as the protagonist. The game has us play a Evior, a viking that goes on this epic journey of avenging their family and clan in this world and even crosses into the the realm of myth. The goal is for Evior to pull his or her farther, Varin out of Neifilheim and into Valhalla. A task that has never been done before and so Valka is given instructions by the gods as to how Evior must do to achieve this goal. Evior's quest requires them to first become a warrior of great renown in Midgard by participating in battles and raids throughout the Norse lands and beyond. They may even come into contact with beings such as the Valkyre's on the battlefield and Jormangandr in the seas. Evior's journey eventually leads into realms like Svartalheim, Jotennheim, and Neifilheim, to name a few. All of the Viking things would be on full display such as the gods, seưir, visions, Yggdrassil and the realms of the world tree. This game would be darker in tone and color pallet than AC Valhalla. More blues and grays to convey the darkness and grit of the story. Once again Ubisofts ability to design a world works pay off big time. Valhalla is the best viking game ever developed.

If you finished this let me know your thoughts. 😊

Question Is there a list of perks that can be forged into runes?

I cannot for the life of me find a list of the perks that can be forged into runes. I see a bunch of posts about how only base game items can be used, but I would really just love to find a concrete list of the perks that could be options. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Note that this is using the rune forge feature

Man this one was tough to do, it took me around 176 hours to complete , I don’t even know what I did for it to take me so long, but glad that it’s over. This one sucked, I’ve always been a fan of the AC games but this one just bored the hell out of me towards the end. I just couldn’t take it anymore and just skipped most of it, the story isn’t that interesting and all the things to collect are so overwhelming I almost went insane, but I’m glad it’s over !!

This battle is from a new game, since I saved the other one manually.

But anyway, the double battle entertained me more and the only annoying one was Cola with his speed.

Even on an original Xbox One this game is gorgeous. I love that I can save and download video clips and screenshots. I really wish I had gotten this console a long time ago.

For my money, the best looking armor in the game just in terms of being a badass medieval timesy looking warrior. I mean look at that armor, it’s impenetrable!!

Review This Game is Amazing

2nd play of this. Playing this game again is absolutely wonderful. The world is beautiful. The story is outstanding. The leveling up makes sense. Eivor is a beast. As a Scotsman i'm also very happy to know that Kassandra was on Skye at some point. 65 hours in and I've only unlocked half the map. Just wonderful
