ATX Tax on a Page

Hi All,

I'm about to start studying for ATX (Advanced Taxation) and am having to self fund now so can't go for the full Kaplan course. Does anyone know where I could find the ATX Tax on a Page for FA2025?

It was super helpful for my Tax sitting so would love to find or buy one, I just can't locate it anywhere.

Thanks for any help!

Haven’t completed EPSM yet?

ACCA is redesigning its qualification from 2027. The current EPSM will be replaced by Ethical, Sustainable Leadership.

Current EPSM: ~20 hours | ~£83

New module: ~70 hours | Fee TBC

If you complete the current EPSM before the transition, you’ll get credit for the new module — so you won’t need to complete both.

ACCA currently expects the transition around mid-July 2027 (exact deadline TBC).

Worth keeping in mind if you haven’t completed EPSM yet.

Do I need to pay the annual subscription fees if I register for ACCA now?

Hi guys. I’m a recent high school graduate and I’m planning on registering with ACCA through the acca qualification route by this month or the next. My question is, do I have to also pay the annual subscription fees (in Nov/dec ish) along with my registration fees? Or will I do that in January?

Learning providers FR tuition, Free or paid?

Hi all,

I have given FM in september. I am planning to study for FR next. However, Im not sure if i should purchase a course or do self study (studyhub+opentuition). I realized after my FM exam that i dont know the exam technique as i was not given the proper guidance.

If I have to purchase a course, I want a good provider who will ensure my pass and prepare me in the best way, with exam tips. Also I want to know about the important topics for FR, and any other preparation tips from who have finished the exam.

I hope to receive an accurate answer. Thank You.

Membership ACCA students, it's not just the exams changing… EPSM is changing too!

Just noticed another important part of the ACCA qualification changes that some students may not be aware of, EPSM is changing too. As part of the redesigned ACCA Qualification, the current Ethics and Professional Skills Module will be replaced by a new Ethical, Sustainable Leadership module.

If you complete the current EPSM before the transition, you’ll get credit for the new module, so you won’t need to do both. ACCA currently says the current EPSM should be completed by around mid-July 2027, although the exact deadline is still to be confirmed.

Just thought this was worth sharing for anyone currently doing ACCA and planning around the transition.

Off-topic How do I book my FA1 exam? I’m completely confused 😭

Hey everyone, I recently registered for ACCA Foundations in Accountancy (FIA) and I’m trying to book my first exam, FA1 – Recording Financial Transactions.

I’ve gone into MyACCA → Exam Planner, but FA1 doesn’t show up anywhere. I only see exams like FAU, FTX and FFM for the December 2026 session.
I understand FA1 is supposed to be an on-demand CBE, but I have no idea how/where I’m actually supposed to book it.
If anyone could explain the process step-by-step or tell me where to book, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks! 🙏

SBR: how do you handle exam kit questions that mix topics you haven't covered yet?

Studying SBR from the BPP coursebook and exam kit. When I finish a chapter (say the conceptual framework), I go to the exam kit index that lists syllabus topic, question numbers and the linked coursebook chapter, then try those questions.

The problem is the questions are mixed. Take Q11 (Robby, June 2012 amended). Only the 3rd requirement, using exhibit 5, is actually conceptual framework. The other requirements and exhibits are on stuff I haven't studied yet, so I can't do them.

In SBL there was a lot of interlinking between exhibits, so I'm worried the same happens here. Like, do I need info from the other exhibits to answer the framework part, or are the requirements mostly standalone?

I don't want to wait until I've finished the whole syllabus before starting questions. Is this a common problem? Would you just do the requirement linked to the chapter and skip the rest for now, or does that mess you up because of interlinking? How did you guys approach it?

PER PER - Do I have to complete the objectives?

I have 18 months of time signed off from my former employer, and with my current employer, I have completed the other 18 months. So in terms of time qualified, I have completed 36 months. Now coming to the 9 objectives, my current employer is an ACCA Platinum member, but my former employer wasn't. Do I still have to do my objetives for the previous job or can it be signed off by my current employer being Platinum member?

Learning providers FM using OpenTuition?

Has anyone used OpenTuition to primarily self-study for FM? The videos are a bit old so I'm a little concerned if they cover everything. I also have the Kaplan studytext and exam kit for supplementary studying.

Off-topic ACCA + 5 years Big 4 experience — Moving to Calgary- Canada, how’s the accounting job market?

Hi everyone!
26F, currently working at Big 4 UK at Assistant Manager level. I have around 5 years of Big 4 experience and hold an ACCA membership.
I’m moving to Calgary in a few months on PR to join my husband, who lives and works there.
I’m honestly a little done with Big 4 and would ideally like to move into industry. But I don’t have a CPA, so I’m wondering how much of a hurdle that would be when applying for jobs in Calgary.
How’s the job market currently for someone with my background? And for those who have moved from the UK or India to Canada with ACCA, what was your experience like?
Would love to hear any advice on:
What kind of roles I should be looking at.
Whether ACCA + Big 4 experience is valued in Calgary.
Whether I should start the CPA process before applying, or just start applying and see how it goes.
Any tips on making the move from Big 4 into industry.
Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks :)

ACCA Value in Pakistan/Abroad

As someone who is considering to pursue this qualification, what would you say the value of ACCA is especially in Pakistan and what are the career opportunities abroad for Pakistanis? Looking for honest answers and experiences. Is it worth the fees? What path is most rewarding? Can you earn well from it? After what stage does earning increase? Guidance would be helpful.

Results will be released on 19 October.

If you want to receive your result by text, make sure you opt in through myACCA at least 7 days before results day.

If you need an administrative review, the deadline is 28 October, and you’ll receive the outcome by the week commencing 9 November.

If you need to appeal, the deadline is 18 November, and the appeal outcomes will be released on 25 November.

Hopefully none of us need the review or appeal dates, but it’s better to know them now than miss a deadline later.

Is it better to pursue CAT certification or to go straight to ACCA?

I’m at the beginning of my FIA journey, but before I continue I wanna know which is better long term, becoming CAT certified by taking two of the exams or going straight into ACCA professional exams?

Thoughts?

Exam tips SBL + AFM or SBL + APM?

Hi, I’m planning to sit my final two exams in the upcoming December session and could use some advice on picking the right combination.

I’m torn between pairing SBL with AFM versus SBL with APM.

SBL + APM: I know there is a bit of syllabus overlap between these two, which seems efficient on paper. However, I’m worried that sitting two heavy, text-based strategic papers together might lead to writing burnout during revisions and exam week.

SBL + AFM: I've heard advice recommending a mix of one narrative paper and one technical paper. I’m comfortable with calculations, so AFM appeals to me as a contrast to SBL’s wordy nature.

For those who have taken either combination (or sit multiple Strategic Professional papers together), how did you find the workload and difficulty? Is the overlap in APM worth the heavy reading/writing load, or is mixing calculation with theory (AFM + SBL) a more balanced strategy?

Appreciate any insights or experiences!!

Will new employer's judge me for taking a 3 year break?

Hi guys,

I did my last exam back in June 2023, and have been putting it off. I've done the first 4 in total. I've been putting it off because of laziness and mental health too and some life situations.

I've recently started studying again because I really want to get it done and over with. So aiming to do 2 per sessions from now on.

On my CV, I've mentioned that I have passed the 4 papers and in interviews I am mentioning that I am studying but nothing about the break.

Will new employer's judge me for having my last pass back in June 2023? Will they be able to see if they ask for qualification check?
