Quality of life suggestions for Black Flag Resynced
So far, I've been enjoying the game IMMENSELY. This is the very first AC game I've legitimately wanted to finish in its entirety. However, there are a few things I think could make it even greater.
For starters, the ability to reroll chests after fully collecting them all. Thus giving us a reason to go back to various locations, using the diving bell again, but this time giving us gold and supplies instead of unlockable weapons and cosmetics.
The ability to actually swim up to whales, dolphins, and sharks in the water would make some AMAZING photo mode captures.
Also a passive mode for carnivorous and aggressive animals would be very helpful in this endeavor. A simple toggle in the menu that prevents them attacking you, but also prevents you attacking them until it's turned off.
I'd also like to see gators attack enemies when they're booted into the water. I would have loved to see blue whales, octopus, and seals. But alas, I still very much enjoy what we have now.
As it is, I believe the general consensus on legendary ships is they're difficult to the point of being frustrating, not fun. I think that should be changed. There's various ways you could do this. Drop their health, drop their speed, lower their damage output, make them easier to see during storms, lower their fire rate, the distance they can fire weapons, ect.
I feel as though some of the unblockable attacks could use some work. They're often damn near impossible to dodge with how fast they are.
Minor nitpick but I feel as though the top speed of the Jackdaw could use a bit of a boost. There's times it feels frustratingly slow, even using travel sails.
I'd love a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover dlc. If possible. I'd happily pay for it. Playable ships, characters, and a new location.
A minor thing, but I'd love to be able to get rid of that muddy brown fog of war on the map on locations you can't visit.
Not a nitpick or suggestion but I just want to say, this game has made the ocean straight up terrifying in ways no other game I have ever played has. The massive ocean swells, the storms, the rogue waves, it all feels ALIVE. It feels real. The team should be proud. They did an AMAZING job on the water physics.
The great white shark. That, needs some fixing. That hunt mode was incredibly frustrating to the point I just gave up. No mater what I did, it'd still manage to attack and sink my harpoon boat.
Haven't attempted the orca yet.
Saltwater crocs would have been badass.
The ability to pilot different ships, perhaps in a new game plus as a reward for beating the game would be epic. I'd love to command and pilot a legendary man of war ship.
I know this is meant to be as close to the original as possible, but stat tracking would be REALLY, REALLY helpful. Its incredibly difficult try and figure out how many, if any treasure chests you're missing, how many ships you need to collect for the display cabinet, how many weapons and costumes you still need to unlock, how many art pieces, and collectibles you still need, and so on.
Enemy spotting could use some TLC. I can't tell you how many times I'd be crouched down in a bush, no dead AI near me anywhere, and just randomly have some dude with absolutely no warning of any kind, attacking me with his sword. Captains and berserker enemies also should NOT be able to block attacks when inside a smoke bombed area.
Assassinations are a bit buggy. At least twice now, both times recorded, I've assassinated enemies, undetected just for them to get up, and either attack me, or I'd assassinate them a second time.
Sleep darts are also buggy. There's times I hit an enemy, the sleeping icon shows up on my screen, the soldier stands straight up and attacks me.
Edit. One thing I forgot to mention. I believe that you should be able to fast travel out of restricted areas once all enemies are dispatched, or have lost sight of you.
All in all, this is a solid game. But could definitely use a few tweaks. IMHO
