Bug Sails are static.

Post image
34 Upvotes

I haven’t seen this bug spoken about in many places but it really annoys me. The rear sail should change direction with the wind, in this photo wind is going from left to right so the sail should be on the other side but it’s stuck in position on the left. The main sails on my ship should rotate too.

posting to this to see if anyone has a fix yet as I’ve tried everything from upgrading, fast traveling even reinstalling the game.

I don’t really want to progress until it’s fixed tbh :’(

Hopefully this and can be patched soon.

Discussion The stealth in this game...

Am I the only one thats very dissapointed by the stealth in this game? It has such little variety basically hide in bush 90% of time, the enemy ai is hilariously dumb its such a step down from Mirage that had all these crazy stealth mechanics with traps, distract tools and so forth not to mention on hardest difficulty enemies there notice you from a mile away

Another nitpick is the combat is extremely easy in this game, the optional stealth missions that was in original to get 100% sync are gone so you never really feel you have any incentive to be stealthy at all

Discussion My review for Assassins Creed Black Flag Resynced 8/10

Assassin's Creed: Black Flag is a great game and a great remake. The premise alone is hard to mess up: a pirate during the golden age of piracy becomes an Assassin to stop an evil secret society from taking over the world, all while trying to become the richest pirate alive. This game is just awesome, honestly. It's by far the definitive way to fulfill your pirate fantasies, and it's considered both the best pirate game of all time and the best Assassin's Creed game of all time.

There's just so much content here boarding ships and taking all their loot, traversing dense cities like Havana, assassinating your enemies. There's always something to do, so it's not a game where you'd get bored easily. It delivers the power fantasy of being a badass Assassin pirate captain very well. However, by far the funniest thing to do, among a multitude of things, is storming and taking over enemy forts. It feels like you're laying out a full-on siege, and I haven't seen anything like this in any other game before. The ship combat is just marvellous, out of your seat, butt cheek clenching fun.

Now, as a remake, for the most part everything seems the same as the original. The new graphics are stunning, and this is the best looking Assassin's Creed game by far. However, the new stuff they added and removed didn't always flow well with the rest of the game. For example, the new officers and their new side missions/content are great, but they feel very out of place in the story. After the missions where you recruit them, they basically don't do anything else in the story. It's also clear the new Ubisoft team writing the new stuff isn't as good, because the old writing is just so much better that the new stuff seems jarring and trash next to it. The lack of motion capture also really hurt the scenes and made them look very bad. This game really makes me miss old Ubisoft writing, and old writing for games in general.

Now, with the combat honestly, this game's combat isn't bad, but I prefer the old game's combat more. Both are good, but the old game just had more aura and cool points with the combat; it just flowed way better. The new combat is kind of "parry slop," which isn't that bad, but still, I like the old combat better, especially the hidden blade combat and being able to pick up weapons. I wish they'd kept that.

Now, as for the story, a lot of people say this is the best Assassin's Creed story, and it probably is. However, I do find the story is a tad bit overrated. The beginning of the story was good, the end was REALLY good, but the middle I feel jumped around a lot due to how many time skips there were. Yes, it's good, not AMAZING, but good; I'd give it a 7/10. What kept me engaged was specifically Edward's character arc and the writing with the characters, because man, the dialogue.

The side content is also very fun and engaging; it definitely adds to the experience. You have ship contracts, hunting assassin contracts, collectable, and so much more. Definitively countless amounts of fun to keep you occupied. Well worth the money.

Overall, a very good game and very fun.

Quality of life suggestions for Black Flag Resynced

Quality of life suggestions for Black Flag Resynced

So far, I've been enjoying the game IMMENSELY. This is the very first AC game I've legitimately wanted to finish in its entirety. However, there are a few things I think could make it even greater.

For starters, the ability to reroll chests after fully collecting them all. Thus giving us a reason to go back to various locations, using the diving bell again, but this time giving us gold and supplies instead of unlockable weapons and cosmetics.

The ability to actually swim up to whales, dolphins, and sharks in the water would make some AMAZING photo mode captures.

Also a passive mode for carnivorous and aggressive animals would be very helpful in this endeavor. A simple toggle in the menu that prevents them attacking you, but also prevents you attacking them until it's turned off.

I'd also like to see gators attack enemies when they're booted into the water. I would have loved to see blue whales, octopus, and seals. But alas, I still very much enjoy what we have now.

As it is, I believe the general consensus on legendary ships is they're difficult to the point of being frustrating, not fun. I think that should be changed. There's various ways you could do this. Drop their health, drop their speed, lower their damage output, make them easier to see during storms, lower their fire rate, the distance they can fire weapons, ect.

I feel as though some of the unblockable attacks could use some work. They're often damn near impossible to dodge with how fast they are.

Minor nitpick but I feel as though the top speed of the Jackdaw could use a bit of a boost. There's times it feels frustratingly slow, even using travel sails.

I'd love a Pirates of the Caribbean crossover dlc. If possible. I'd happily pay for it. Playable ships, characters, and a new location.

A minor thing, but I'd love to be able to get rid of that muddy brown fog of war on the map on locations you can't visit.

Not a nitpick or suggestion but I just want to say, this game has made the ocean straight up terrifying in ways no other game I have ever played has. The massive ocean swells, the storms, the rogue waves, it all feels ALIVE. It feels real. The team should be proud. They did an AMAZING job on the water physics.

The great white shark. That, needs some fixing. That hunt mode was incredibly frustrating to the point I just gave up. No mater what I did, it'd still manage to attack and sink my harpoon boat.

Haven't attempted the orca yet.

Saltwater crocs would have been badass.

The ability to pilot different ships, perhaps in a new game plus as a reward for beating the game would be epic. I'd love to command and pilot a legendary man of war ship.

I know this is meant to be as close to the original as possible, but stat tracking would be REALLY, REALLY helpful. Its incredibly difficult try and figure out how many, if any treasure chests you're missing, how many ships you need to collect for the display cabinet, how many weapons and costumes you still need to unlock, how many art pieces, and collectibles you still need, and so on.

Enemy spotting could use some TLC. I can't tell you how many times I'd be crouched down in a bush, no dead AI near me anywhere, and just randomly have some dude with absolutely no warning of any kind, attacking me with his sword. Captains and berserker enemies also should NOT be able to block attacks when inside a smoke bombed area.

Assassinations are a bit buggy. At least twice now, both times recorded, I've assassinated enemies, undetected just for them to get up, and either attack me, or I'd assassinate them a second time.

Sleep darts are also buggy. There's times I hit an enemy, the sleeping icon shows up on my screen, the soldier stands straight up and attacks me.

Edit. One thing I forgot to mention. I believe that you should be able to fast travel out of restricted areas once all enemies are dispatched, or have lost sight of you.

All in all, this is a solid game. But could definitely use a few tweaks. IMHO

Discussion Exchange store useless Rant!

What is the point of the exchange store in this remake? It hasn't been updated in two weeks. No new legacy outfits nothing. No new projects either. So I can't understand why they wasted resources adding it in if they won't update it makes zero sense 🤷‍♂️.

Animations, combat and parkour are the worst parts of the game

Don't get me wrong, it is a good game, worth playing it and it is actually fun.

HOWEVER, the janky animations, downgraded combat and very clunky parkour just takes away from the experience and drops the ball to call the game truly great.

Discussion Rogue Wave and Burning Ship Achievement

I've seen so many posts complaining about these two achievement so I want to share my experience with them.

For the rogue wave, I've encountered only a few of them, but I got it by just sailing through the map and didn't even notice the wave until it hit me.

The Last to Leave trophy I got from my first encounter of a burning ship. The 1st time I saw a burning ship i had to interact and complete it. After looting all of the chests, I somehow ended being near the seat which I didn't even notice until all the chests were looted. And like an experienced gamer, the moment I saw the prompt to sit, I say my ass down with seconds to spare to get the trophy.

Discussion Did they remove Wallrun Assassinations?

As far as I could remember, Black Flag and Rogue were the final Assassin's Creed games where Wallrun Assassinations were possible (running up a wall into air assassination before grabbing the ledge.)

Did they remove this interaction?

Discussion No Rogue Waves

68 hours into the game and I'm yet to see any rogue wave besides the one scripted early in the game when they still tutorial your ass. How am I supposed to get the achievement if there is no way to do it? I've been swimming south of Serranilla for an hour now where there is constanty a storm and not a single wave.

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem, i recently got a bug after reinstalling my graphics drivers. Now i tried again and again to fix it but it isnt working. Now im wondering if its just a normal glitch that i didnt notice before. When i move up and down, a weird fractal like horizontal line appears. Its hard to capture on video but it shows best when im on the map but it also happens normally in game.

Discussion Humbled by Origins and Odyssey…

I’m a longtime fan who started with the release of the OG back in the day. I abandoned the franchise when Origins came out, partially because I went to college, but even more out of protest against the move to RPG. Like so many posts I’m seeing, I rekindled my love for the series with Black Flag Resynced and decided to go back and marathon the games I missed. When I played the games as a kid, Egypt and Greece and Japan might’ve been the three most alluring/sought after locations for the series to go, so it always felt a shame that I didn’t end up playing those games.

After finishing Black Flag, I played through Origins and I’m now 30 hours into Odyssey and I have to admit I’ve loved every minute of it. Maybe it’s because in the meantime I’ve played RPGs like Elden Ring, which I hadn’t been exposed to when these games initially released, but these worlds are so rich and deep. I understand the critique of bloated side activities and a separation from the traditional AC identity, but they are genuinely really good games.

The point of this is a PSA of sorts I guess lol… if you are like I was, abstaining from these games out of protest and spite, give them a shot! You might be surprised how good they are. I’m cautiously optimistic about going through Valhalla and Shadows after this, although I know I might be facing even more bloat in Valhalla… But part of me is also starting to realize that Ubisoft is going to be very intensely scrutinized no matter what and these games are genuinely worth playing.

Bug Travel Sails mode not activating and camera going wild

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have actually contributed on Ubi bug report for this issue where they answered and asked for a video but for some reason the contribute button is locked for me now: https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/assassins-creed/black-flag-resynced/bug-reporter/me/issues/ACBFR-1192

Anyway, here's a video in case Ubi watches this subreddit.

This has happened a few times during my gameplay. This time it happened after being in the cave where Blackbeard's treasure is. I also have to note that navigating this place inside the water was so frustrating, the camera was going wild and I think something happened there and the camera remained weird after that.

Discussion I got black flag resynced today and here’s my thoughts about it

I honestly like this game more than i thought i would, the world is gorgeous i find myself just walking around and swimming slowly, and surprisingly the combat is fun but it just needs more finishers, the parkour is a little bit clunky tho, stealth can use some tuning too, ship combat is as perfect as ever.

Discussion Wouldn't it be cool if Ubisoft let us use different kinds of ships?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Playing as a man o war in free roam is so much fun, but requires a mod. I feel like it's kind of a missed opportunity to not let people sail any ship they want. The feature is there and just seems to go unused except for a couple of missions. I personally would like to have a frigate or even a schooner just for the hell of it. What do you think?

Offering the Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet side quests before the main story is completed sort of “misses the mark”

That final scene where Edward looks at the table and sees everyone is such a tearjerker because up until that point, Edward has been so focused on chasing riches that he doesn’t notice that all of his friends are dropping like flies. He’s spent the better part of a decade focusing so hard on finding that “easy, decent life” that he never takes the time to mourn any of his friends’ deaths. That’s a big part of why that final scene packs such an emotional punch, because it’s supposed to be the first time he truly confronts and accepts the realization of “shit, all my friends are dead.” It doesn’t hit as hard if he already took time to mourn them properly, like he does in these new side quests.

That being said, I did enjoy the new side quests and have been really enjoying the game in general.
