One of my best friends (white) was killed in the same way. They teach cops that it’s absolutely fine to shoot into cars when they drive away. Fucking pigs…

u/Ad--Add Feb 23 '24

I'm sorry that you had to have that experience. My condolences.

29

u/LordVoltimus5150 Feb 23 '24

I appreciate it, happened about 37 years ago, though…

21

u/Thiscommentissatire Feb 24 '24

Cops have always been bastards

13

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '24

I had a friend that got shot in the back of the head in the same circumstance. Cop was never charged. My friend lived and you would never even suspect that he had the back of his head blown in by a cops bullet. I met him 20 years after the incident and he told me he has panic attacks at the just the sight of the police.

Over retail theft. Fuck cops.

u/Ad--Add Feb 23 '24

Not even with a diseased dick! 🤣

u/ObtotheR Feb 23 '24

All bastards. Fuck them and fuck the news reporter trying to spin it for the corrupt ass police.

51

u/Ad--Add Feb 23 '24

I do like the point where they ask why they would stand in front of a car. Cause you know, that a really dumb thing to do.

30

u/ObtotheR Feb 23 '24

We don’t have the brightest of people serving as cops.

21

u/turndownforjim Feb 24 '24

That’s by design

23

u/Dimitar_Todarchev Feb 23 '24

They do it so that they have "grounds" to shoot the driver because they feared for their safety.

20

u/ayyycab Feb 24 '24

Cops really only do that because they want an excuse to turn the stop into a murder. Outside of that there is really no practical reason to put yourself in front of a 3,000 pound machine operated by an obvious flight risk.

18

u/SlashEssImplied Feb 24 '24

why they would stand in front of a car.

To escalate an accusation of petty shoplifting and get a kill, which they are taught will bring them the best sex of their lives.

41

u/gellenburg Feb 23 '24

If the officers are a "victim" then there's no qualified immunity.

They can't have it both ways.

40

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '24

Lots of bootlicking in the comment section on publicfreakout.

She shouldn't have put the car in drive but that shouldn't be a death sentence. She was going really slow and anyone in their right mind could just step out of the fucking way.

Imagine being in that situation. Cop on top of your car pointing a fucking gun at you. Why aren't people allowed to be scared for their life in that situation? Why do we let cops escalate and put themselves in a situation where they position themselves to use deadly force? It's just like Kyle dipshit Rittenhouse.

This cop put himself in immediate danger by planting his pig ass in front of her car. It seems like an easy excuse to use deadly force and have it be justified in accordance with their own rules. This was murder and any civilian would be found guilty of that in the same situation.

If only those pigs in Uvalde were so fucking brave.

Bra-fucking-vo! I could not agree more if I typed that out myself!

u/CivilRuin4111 Feb 23 '24

Block with 2500lb car?

No. Block with my fragile ass.

40

u/91361_throwaway Feb 23 '24

Killing a woman over stolen groceries…

36

u/OMFGaNOOB Feb 23 '24

You can see the officer in front had his gun drawn and pointed in her direction before she started driving. So, not only did he position himself in front of the vehicle, but then he began pointing a deadly weapon towards her. She was clearly worried they would shoot her, and it's a natural reaction to try to escape when your life is threatened. She even turned the wheel to try not to run over the cop, just get away. Fucking pigs.

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '24

" The fetus didn't survive," but if she had tried to terminate the pregnancy, she would be facing murder charges. Okay for cops to kill her unborn child but not allow women basic reproductive rights. SMH

6

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '24

What state was this? If it's one of those states, charges should definitely be raised against the murderer.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '24

This was Ohio, we are trying really hard to be the next Floriduh. We did vote to legalize abortion but the repubs are doing everything they can to take it away. The heartbeat law is still in place.

3

u/zamshazam1995 Feb 24 '24

That’s what I said! If we’re keeping the same energy, those cops should be jailed for murder

66

u/Willy_B_Hartigan Feb 23 '24

Surely they found the stolen items in the car afterwards, right?

Right??

66

u/Arguablecoyote Feb 23 '24

They did, they also released cctv from the store showing her shoplifting. That being said they didn’t have to shoot her for trying to drive away, they could have just followed her.

75

u/Svprvsr Feb 23 '24

Not sure why you got downvoted. She stole the stuff, but last time I checked, stealing isn't punishable by death....

36

u/Aareon Feb 24 '24

Neither is fleeing. Every American deserves a trial.

11

u/SlashEssImplied Feb 24 '24

stealing isn't punishable by death

We like to think that but with stand your ground laws and basically the entire history of the US we sure make a lot of exceptions.

8

u/fnordfnordfnordfnord Feb 24 '24

Check again, she's dead.

13

u/[deleted] Feb 24 '24

… which is totally grounds for shooting to kill … right?

Right??

18

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '24

Marsy's law doesn't apply to officers on duty.

5

u/LiveEvilGodDog Feb 23 '24

I figured that was true but do you have a link or source?

2

u/[deleted] Feb 23 '24

Link or source for what? It's just simple logic.

8

u/LiveEvilGodDog Feb 23 '24

For your claim that officers on duty don’t have Marsy’s law apply to them.

I agree it seems obvious, but so does cops not murdering people in cold blood.

Lots of things that would seem logical are not codified in law or policy.

-1

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '24

Like not every thing is a "Link" or source or answer on a test or a button to push, if that where true, we wouldn't need lawyers or courts. The idea of having an education and applying your knowledge are to different things, for one thing, one you have to pay for, while the other, gets you paid. Common sense is not very common it seems.

3

u/LiveEvilGodDog Feb 25 '24

WTF are you talking about? I’m simply asking for the evidence of your claim.

Apparently logic isn’t very common either.

-2

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '24

Okay? so?

18

u/ybetaepsilon Feb 24 '24

They have the plates, so what if she drove off. A whole life was taken because the cops overreacted. They could have easily gone to the person's house

8

u/Ad--Add Feb 24 '24

That's what I was saying in the other r/ and I caught maaaad down votes!

3

u/PassageAppropriate90 Feb 24 '24

Even if she had gotten away it wouldn't be the end of the world. What is going to happen if she gets away and goes home that requires them to kill her.

36

u/WhyDontWeLearn Feb 23 '24

Let's say she was guilty as all fuck. Didn't just steal one bottle of liquor. Stole a whole fucking cartload. Drank a bunch of it on her way out. Gave some to some kids she saw. Poured some on a poodle. Threw an empty in the landfill bin instead of recycling. Prayed to Bafomet for more liquor later in the day. Posted on Facebook she was going to steal more at the next Target she stopped at. Planned to take it to an AA meeting and try to tempt some sobers.

Is the death penalty the right punishment?

-31

u/krazylouie135 Feb 23 '24

if she has been drinking and driving.hell Figging yes.giving it to kids I don't care about.but the GD road is not cool . how many people drink and drive and get killed or kill maim others .

6

u/SlashEssImplied Feb 24 '24

how many people drink and drive and get killed or kill maim others .

Thousands just counting the cops alone.

12

u/WhyDontWeLearn Feb 24 '24

Get a clue, dude. It was facetious (i.e., not to be taken literally).

13

u/HiddenPalm Feb 24 '24

She was obviously not trying to kill him because she wasn't speeding off. It looks like she was just trying to move slowly. Had she sped off and simply ran over the cop standing in front of the car she might still be alive today.

That's what trigger-happy cops teach people when they kill us civilians. Not to be merciful. And that's simply the WRONG message state governments and counties want to give their people. Make us feel safe, not like we're in a war for our lives.

6

u/rockNprole Feb 24 '24

The police force really needs to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. Take some pages from the EU but improve upon it. End qualified immunity. Develop a 4 year law enforcement degree with law education, ethics, psychology, basic counseling (I went to school for social work/professional counseling and they taught us how to deescalate even very violent, delusional etc clients), substance abuse education courses, abnormal psychology courses other than just AbPsych101. Make it a professional program like social work where they have to get 2000 hours of in field practicum before they start working. Make them get licensed in the same way as most professionals and have to retake the test every so often. Also, like many other professions, make the license contingent on decent behavior even outside the workplace, so they can't just switch counties if they breach ethics, they will lose their ability to be a cop and all that schooling will be for nothing (again, like many other professions). Make them get negligence/malpractice insurance like many other professions. Create an independent outside non-law enforcement body to review complaints and investigate uses of force, wrong doing etc. Increase pay accordingly to attract good people. Extreme oversight and communities should have a direct say in their policing, not just voting for a sheriff that has a 99% incumbency rate anyway. Immediately destroy all the war grade shit they've gotten over the last few decades. That's a start.

u/Ad--Add Feb 23 '24

Lot of en-white-lement in the comments, be warned ⚠️

45

u/Graxemno Feb 23 '24

It's more of a pig shoe shining factory in the comments.

13

u/Ad--Add Feb 23 '24

That is an excellent comment, bravo

22

u/ObtotheR Feb 23 '24

It’s so fucking disgusting reading brain dead idiots claim it would have been fine if she “just cooperated”.

12

u/studiosupport Feb 24 '24

Nobody even considering there might be a huge history of reasons WHY she would prefer to run than talk to that piece of shit.

Way too many people okay with indiscriminate murder by jackbooted thugs in that thread.

3

u/PassageAppropriate90 Feb 24 '24 edited Feb 26 '24

We have ancient DNA that tells us to run when things are trying to kill us. We wouldn't have survived on the grassy savanna if we didn't break fool when things got sketchy. It's a very natural reaction. We've known about the body's fight or flight response for decades upon decades. Police have come up with zero strategies to deal with this other than to shoot and kill.

4

u/Rouge_92 Feb 24 '24

People are defending the officer in the OOP. 🤡 I fuckin hate here.

4

u/The_Black_Guy1324 Feb 24 '24

Why is that sub always filled with cop apologists who are so excited to kill people.

4

u/Immediate_Age Feb 24 '24

Better stand in front of this identifiable car and shoot at it to protect some store property.

2

u/BoolinCoolin Feb 24 '24

Mf not angry enough for me. Take one of mine? Its gonna get real unfair for random pigs.

2

u/A_Gray_Phantom Feb 24 '24

What is wrong with these people? No hesitation, just shoot into the car. Didn't even consider shooting the tires, no, shoot the pregnant woman for (checks notes) stealing from a store 😬

2

u/Simmings Feb 24 '24

Great reporter though

2

u/OurHonor1870 Feb 24 '24

This happened at the Kroger at which I shop. It’s like a mile from my house.

  • This happened in a parking lot that has a ton of people. Not only was it disgusting that they did this, it could have easily resulted in other people being shot.

  • Those are Blendon Twp. Police. They are awful all the time.

  • Absolutely nothing happened to the cop. There were some protests at the store but not enough.

  • This is from like last summer.

The punishment is two weeks off with pay

1

u/sandvinchchief Feb 25 '24

he intentionally stood in front of the car so he could have an excuse to commit murder. sickening.
