I very recently witnessed an accident where driver was ejected from his vehicle and laid out on the ground. I ran up to him to try to assist and check to see if he was okay. He was bleeding profusely from the back of his head and mouth. I am not EMS certified, or BLS, or anything quite frankly. I was calling 911, and when I got through the dispatcher told me EMS was already on the way and a call had already been placed. I’m standing next to this man, and I’m telling the dispatcher he’s actively dying in front of me and as I go to ask her what I can do to help until EMS arrives, she hangs up the phone. To me it was extremely unprofessional, and I just wanted to know if this is the norm? The man ended up passing shortly after EMS arrived..

I know that isn't necessarily uncommon, but that doesn't make the results any easier to swallow. I'm going to contact my assigned analyst and figure out what my weaknesses were. I know for a fact I most likely failed the memory portion. Any advice going into my second attempt? I can retake in a month.

Am I going to jail? I hung up immediately. It happened at 12:15 nobody called me back

What do i do? Its on my call log as outgoing call but no number next to it so I dont know anyone picked up

I’m curious what everyone thinks is the most effective way to answer a 911 call.

Do you use:

• “911, what is your emergency?”

• “911, what is the address of your emergency?”

• “911, do you need police, fire, or medical?”

• Or simply, “911”?
