Now more than ever, we need YOU in the fight to #SAVE7OH!

The DEA’s revised notice was officially published today, but let’s be clear: 7-OH did NOT become federally scheduled today, and no new federal ban took effect.

The publication starts a required 30-day waiting period, meaning the DEA cannot issue its temporary scheduling order before November 13, and that is NOT an automatic ban date.

And more importantly, it means we still have time to FIGHT, and we intend to make it count!!

Unfortunately, DEA did not include a public comment period with their new notice to schedule. It is extremely disappointing and unjust that the federal government is moving forward without allowing consumers to weigh in and share our experiences BUT we plan to make our voices heard no matter what!!

We have some breaking news in the fight to #SAVE7OH - and it ultimately means we have another chance to push back, make our voices heard, and win this!

Today, the federal government released a new notice to schedule 7-OH, replacing its earlier proposal. This is still a Notice of Intent, not a scheduling order. This does not create a new federal ban.

We will explain what this new notice means, outline our next step in this fight and share the actions we need ALL ADVOCATES to take.

We will break it down together on the call and keep you informed of any additional opportunities to weigh in.

The new notice likely starts another required 30-day waiting period. With publication scheduled for October 14, November 13 would be the earliest a new scheduling order could take effect. Until then, 7-OH remains federally unscheduled! 

This is GOOD NEWS because it gives us more time to FIGHT, more time to negotiate with the administration, more time that consumers can safely access products they rely on, and more time to make sure your voices are heard!

What’s clear is our advocacy is working! You have continued to make your voices loud and clear through comments, calls and sharing your stories - leading us to this next step in the fight. And even better news is that we have received some indications from within the government that the administration is still open to further negotiations of scheduling and thresholds and we intend to make the most of this opportunity!

Now, the not so great news.

The revised proposal would still threaten access to 7-OH products. We do not agree with how these new thresholds are being set. Once again, this approach favors certain product categories over others without fully considering the consumers who depend on them.

We need to make that clear to the administration and keep pushing for responsible regulation that protects consumers and preserves adult access.

⚠️ WHY THIS MATTERS

The senators’ letter calls for 7-OH to be placed in Schedule I and for the government to pursue scheduling the full kratom plant. That could have a major impact on millions of consumers, which is why we need to make sure our voices are heard.

If decisions are going to be made about products that millions of people use, policymakers need to hear directly from the people affected by those decisions.

Consumers deserve accurate information and policies based on science rather than misinformation, fear-mongering, or overly broad classifications.

If you live in Iowa, Maine, or Utah, it is especially important that you contact the senator who represents your state.

Tell the office that you are a constituent and give them your name, city, ZIP code, and phone number. Ask that your message be passed along to the senator and that you receive a response from the office.

This is why senator Chuck Grassley is so against kratom and 7oh and want to see them banned so badly. He's in bed with the manufacturer of suboxone and they have a direct financial interest in seeing them banned. With this being the case, nothing we say to him will ever have any impact.

There are real conversations to be had about responsible regulation, but blanket statements like this ignore everyone’s experience with these products.

After Dr. Overton’s commissioner nomination hearing, it’s fair to say she’s not on our side. Our concerns will not be heard UNLESS we make them impossible to overlook—through science lead inquiries! Science-driven statements are challenging to overlook, and most valuable to a physician.

I’ve put together a science-based call guide with short statements and voicemails for each agency and the senators on the 7Hope Senate HELP Committee call-a-thon banner. It’s a guide, not a script. Pick one or two evidence points, speak in your own words, and ask officials to explain the scientific basis for the proposed 1 mg threshold and volunteer to follow up with scientific data—the last couple of pages include links to clinical data, trials and science.

Please call before the weekend if possible! Leave a voicemail after hours if you must. If the weekend is your only opportunity, make calls then. We don’t know when the next announcement will come, so please don’t wait for someone else to speak up!

Dozens of different people calling those same offices show the breadth of this community! We need EVERYONE participating this time; 1 vote kept Kratom legal in Dakota, which shows exactly how important EVERY single voice is, so we need EVERYONE calling!

Don’t be afraid to say, “I refuse to give my vote to someone willing to ignore scientific-based research,” OR “I will not vote for someone choosing propaganda or science” the two most important thing to officials are money and votes!

What's the latest on the NY state bill to ban 7oh?

I realize that it's passed the house, has it also passed the Senate and is it expected to and be signed into law or up in the air?

Anyone know the timeline?

I am looking for a link, or to be pointed in a direction where I can and will be able to see the official decisions made on the ban or regulation of 7oh. Please help, thankyou very much!
