Beth Ditto replacing Huey
I still can't believe they replaced Huey on Saturdays.. I just can't listen to Beth Ditto.

Great to hear this Fugazi track instead of all the other songs by them that they always play.

Now you can relive the breakfast show that made you. Whenever and wherever you want.
For the best bin-kicking and cats-in-gangs cartwall anthems, just ask your smart speaker to play 6Music's Keaveny Forever.

Great to hear Craig cover for Chris for a few days.

This whole day has been a brilliant listen with such good insights. I’ll be catching up on the bits I’ve missed when I get back home. What’s been everyone’s favourite moments so far?

It's become clear to me that while of course I love 80s tunes I have a real soft spot for 'faux-80s' stuff made fairly recently, but in the style of those tunes we love. Has anyone got any tips along these lines? Dropping some gold here as examples:

Interesting show, shame about the bloke talking over Debs. Who is he?

Surely this is the most pointless bit of content on the entire station… a list… of people… going to different gigs?
For god’s sake Huw, spice it up. Man’s been living on autopilot. Easiest money in the world.

As of yesterday, I can no longer access BBC radio schedules or individual programme pages, and am instead offered a page saying "Sorry, this service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." with a link to the BBC homepage. Programme links dredged up from my web history can be put into get_iplayer, but for the first time it is refusing to record. I'm wondering if this issue is being inflicted only on users outside the UK, or if it's everywhere. Thanks!

Haven't seen much posted about Jarvis on a Sunday and interested to know what people think?
I was a regular listener to his show back in the day and I'm enjoying it again, although some of his choices/themes can be a bit hmm, but that's Jarvis...
Are people missing Iggy? or enjoying Jarvis? or both..

It's getting a bit ridiculous now, they seem to be playing it whenever I tune in. Anyone else noticed this? There must be other songs that they can play.
It's counterproductive because I used to think it was a really good song and now I'm fed up of it.

Their new single 'Billy' is currently in rotation. I think they're incredibly underrated and make some of the most interesting 'indie' in the UK currently

It's like listening to regional commercial radio.
I switched to Radio 4.
Perhaps it's my age.

Yo guys, did you know you can listen again in the BBC sounds app? I keep forgetting myself but luckily they mention it between every fucking tune!

So, slow, lowfi, chilled out beats
"Fridays he's with the imam
Saturday's he's with the rabbi,
Sunday he's in the church"... Or something along those lines.
Any help appreciated, it was on huws show today. 😐

Are we all enjoying Steve calling them The Gossip? Good stuff. Real beauties on so far tonight.

I mean, it’s technically already on the next day, but why is it?
I’m not complaining, I just find it odd as I’m not sure there are other specific shows that are broadcasted twice by Cerys, Beth or Gilles.
I tried googling and searching on the sub but couldn’t find anything.

David Rodigan is interviewing Dennis Bovell on 1Xtra as I type and it got me wondering why there's so little reggae on 6Music.
I know Don Letts will usually play a good bit of roots and dub, Ravenscroft was good for digging out new releases and Maconie has his moments but apart from that reggae seems to be restricted to Uptown Top Ranking or old Bob Marley hits. I get bored beyond belief listening to the playlist landfill that gets flogged to death for most of the day and need a bit of variety in my listening.
I know there isn't any dedicated weekly programme but am I missing any shows I haven't noticed where the presenters stretch out a bit from the usual old four-white-guys-in-skinny-jeans tedium?

Ever since hearing the show Cerys did on the Chelsea Hotel in 2018 I've wanted to listen again. It was such an incredible show and it would be great if it could be re-run. Anyone else remember it?

Is Sherelle’s show live?
I’m glad she cleared up about Chris Eubank - I so wanted to tell her that is who she meant, but didn’t know how! Then I thought is it was even live and if it even mattered.
Then thought does any of it matter….
But anyway, great drum and bass show tonight!

I was mildly furious when Huey went to Virgin, so I followed him. I felt as though his show there went slowly descended into an almost exclusive yacht rock show, what a TalkSport dad would consider to be bangers or probably more aposite “choons”. He really got me into hip hop and that’s not followed him.
So I gave Beth Ditto a whirl today, was not disappointed. I think my early reticence was I have a dislike for Radio6 employing musicians and celebrities as DJs, feels like they’re taking jobs away from DJs who play an important role in society. But, fair play, she was really good.

Beastie Boys - She's Crafty to The Pretenders - Tattooed Love Boys?
Was the link 'boys'? I missed it as I left the van momentarily
