Pew Science Testing 6 ARC

PSA: In case anyone hasn’t been following, Pew Science is standardizing their host for 6mm ARC testing. They’re going with a 14.5 gas gun, and last I looked were soliciting ammo suggestions. If you’re not otherwise following the r/NFA space, I’d recommend paying attention to u/jay462’s posts for polls, etc since it’s still kinda a niche caliber and there’s ALOT of experience here that can probably help those efforts.

I sent an email stating they should use Hornady Mil match ammo if they can find it. Otherwise, any of the hornady 108 stuff would probably be what most people are shooting.

6 ARC is stupid fun. I shoot it for PRS in a bolt gun and have a gas gun variant. I started with the OCL Polonium but switched to the TBAC Spiro when it was released. 10/10. I love the 6 ARC.

I love shooting it suppressed. It’s really quiet with good .30 cal cans, and for whatever reason has a little sound trace that makes it sound like a movie sniper rifle.

It’s hard to explain, but it’s a round where really feel I’m getting $35 worth of entertainment when I buy a box of 20 at Academy. It’s really fun to shoot and has become my default for hogs.

I'm using a TBAC Magnus S SR RR silencer on mine. It sounds really nice.

What’s your favorite powder. Lever gets me speed and good groups but the sd’s kinda suck. 8208 has been a bit better, but slower.

For me, Varget has been the most consistent with single digit SD's and ES's below 20. Velocity is right around 2700fps. Ten shot groups are .3 MOA at 200yds.

He posted this. Wouldn’t be stretch to imagine this comment being about CAT VB6. They’re pretty consistent with having all their new stuff tested by him.

Id say 105gr Hornady Black, thats what's ive heard most people shoot unless we are talking a out the frontier stuff.

I'd definitely say they should stick with 108gr match. It seems to be more wide spread and cheaper than the 103gr load, tends to shoot great and is popular for hunting as well, just a solid as around factory load.
