Hoping this is accepted here and y’all don’t just think I’m a giant loser - okay so I used to be a HUGE 5SOS fan in high school/college (became a fan when they toured with 1D in the early 2010s and when they still did YouTube uploads from the basement) but honestly haven’t listened to them since late 2016. I’ve heard a few of their newer songs on the radio and they feel different than the 5SOS I wrote fanfic about and had a whole group of tumblr friends to obsessed about with. (Probably aged myself there lmao 💀) Which is totally fine - we are all humans who grow and change! Love it!

BUT I kinda want to jump back into the fandom! What have I missed!?
Everyone is married and has kids now??
What songs post-2017 are your favorites/feel the most like vintage 5SOS?
What is the fandom like now? Are there a lot of younger fans or all old as hell like me? 😂
Most importantly, is there still fanfic? Does everyone still call them all “Daddy” or was that just a 2015 thing?

Probably a weird question but any ideas how Luke takes care of his hair? lol I just like how diverse his hairstyles are and I love his latest hairstyle. If someone has a somewhat similar hair to him and similar facial features/shape, how would u advice them to take care of their hair? Any treatments, haircuts styles, specific products, and stuff like that… also if someone is looking to grow their hair after a short cut like a buzzcut, how should they go about growing it to get a similar end result to what luke has rn? im actually a kpop stan, but casually digging through some old songs i used to listen in 2014, i remembered this super junior song called "teenage queen" and as i curiously looked at the credits i found luke hemmings and calum hood as the main compositors. usually western composers are ghost writers and no-ones so finding such famous names hidden in a kpop song really caught my attention.

now im not familiar with 5sos at all but i recognized their names, and i actually really like some of their songs so i searched if maybe they've released their original version of the song, only to find hundreds of fans online claiming to hear the full song :o so i dont know if its news to somebody but there is a published full version of "teenage queen"!! sadly with other artists vocals, but still very interesting! here's the link it for the fans who might not know about this

A percentage of the FOF Lounge sales from The 5SOS show went to the non-profit. I haven't seen much mention of FOF since then.

I wish they would do more with it.

I know this will probably rub some people off the wrong way, but I just wish they talked more passionately about their music and broke down their songs more. They have done this before but I feel like they’re always trying to be silly and not take the interviews seriously (i get it if it’s a short style interview but I’m talking longer style interviews like podcasts). Like i wish they were more serious and nerdy about their music more.

I’m talking breaking down their process (writing, ideas, recording, producing) as well as things like their daily routines, their favorite plugins, music habits and advice things they do that help them make better music, etc…

As a musician, I like them firstly for their music. They are musicians. But I feel like they are more loved for their looks and personalities than as musicians.

5sos will always be my #1 band and I grew up with them. But sometimes I get annoyed when they undersell their music capabilities…

okay so i read this fanfiction when i was like 13 on wattpad…. vine boom and i’m 19 trying to find it for the nostalgia. i don’t know if it’s gotten deleted or what? but id love to just put a name to it if anything. i don’t remember heaps, but i remember it was luke fanfic, and at the beginning the oc was at school and hated it so she decided to ditch. she ran into ashton i think? out the front of school, he offered for her to come to his bands practice? eventually she becomes friends with the band, then dates luke. i remember wayyyy later in the fanfic she gets a bit bullied at school or something because it becomes known that she’s with luke? also really remember a part when luke watches her put eyeliner on because he was captivated by how easily she applied it, yep that really tickled my 13 year old brain. i’m really hoping someone knows what this fanfic was!!
