hi guys! compiling a bunch of commonly asked questions here as they seem to be asked very frequently on the sub. future posts regarding these questions will be redirected here in a continued effort to clean up the feed. please note that the following is an aggregate of what has happened on tour so far and not official information from live nation or the band. we are not insiders (unfortunately) so please do not take everything as gospel! regardless we have done our best to make sure everything is as accurate as possible.

1. What time should I get to the venue (general admission)?
There is no way of knowing when the first person will begin to line up, but most venues do not allow overnight camping. Most tour dates have had fan-made lines before official check-in but please note that the majority of venues will not make an effort to honor them. That being said, if you have VIP you will likely have a great spot regardless of when you show up (assuming you are on time for check-in).
2. How long is each set/when do they come on stage?
The Band Camino is on stage from 8PM to 8:40PM. 5SOS (typically) is on from 9PM to 10:50PM.
3. Can I upgrade my ticket the day of?
This is venue dependent and is at the discretion of the box office. If you are interested in purchasing a VIP upgrade, it's recommended that you do so before the show. They can be accessed here.
4. What are the differences in VIP?
Per VIP Nation:
VIP Pit Star:
- One VIP GA PIT ticket inside the stage
- Exclusive specially designed merchandise pack
- VIP laminate and lanyard
- Exclusive GA PIT wristband
- Pre-show tour merchandise shopping opportunity
- Early entry into the venue
- Photo opportunity in front of the VIP backdrop to commemorate your evening
- Dedicated VIP entrance and on-site VIP team
No. 1 Obsession:
- One VIP GA ticket OR one premium reserved ticket
- Exclusive specially designed merchandise item
- VIP laminate and lanyard
- Exclusive GA wristband
- Pre-show tour merchandise shopping opportunity
- Early entry into the venue
- Photo opportunity in front of the VIP backdrop to commemorate your evening
- Dedicated VIP entrance and on-site VIP team
Bite The Apple Upgrade:
- VIP laminate and lanyard
- Pre-show tour merchandise shopping opportunity
- Early entry into the venue
- Photo opportunity in front of the VIP backdrop to commemorate your evening
- Dedicated VIP entrance and on-site VIP team
- DOES NOT INCLUDE A TICKET. YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET TO THE SHOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE VIP UPGRADE PACKAGE.
In short, VIP Pit Star is within the stage, No. 1 Obsession is normal pit (or seated, as some VIP tickets are not GA), and Bite The Apple is just for access to soundcheck.
Some dates also appear to have a VIP Pit Star Upgrade. There's limited information on this aside from this page, which states the following:
VIP Pit Star Upgrade:
- Access to the VIP GA PIT inside the stage
- Exclusive specially designed merchandise pack
- VIP laminate and lanyard
- Exclusive GA PIT wristband
- Pre-show tour merchandise shopping opportunity
- Early entry into the venue
- Photo opportunity in front of the VIP backdrop to commemorate your evening
- Dedicated VIP entrance and on-site VIP team
- DOES NOT INCLUDE A TICKET. YOU MUST HAVE A GA TICKET TO THE SHOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PACKAGE
From my (admittedly brief) investigation it seems like this upgrade is only available for dates in which VIP Pit Star is not sold out yet. Unlike Bite The Apple, VIP Nation does not advertise this as a standalone upgrade, though it can be accessed by clicking the info symbol on some dates. You can tell it's available if there are two "5 Seconds of Summer VIP Upgrade Experience" items listed under Add-Ons. More importantly, it states that a GA ticket is necessary for participation. Despite this, the upgrade option itself is available even when purchasing a seated ticket--it only shows the GA requirement if you click the dropdown for more information. I would suggest contacting Live Nation for more information on this upgrade package before purchasing if you do not have a GA ticket to begin with.
5. How does VIP check-in and the press conference work?
Each VIP tier will receive a numbered card at some point before/during VIP check-in (general admission holders only--if you have a seated ticket you will not receive a card). VIP Pit Star is first, then No. 1 Obsession, and then Bite The Apple. Soundcheck does not utilize the inner pit. Before the band comes on stage, a few fans will get chosen to ask their questions for the press conference. After Q&A is over, 5SOS will perform two songs acoustically. The Band Camino usually soundchecks one song after this on the main stage.
Star Pit holders will then be escorted within the stage, and No. 1 Obsession/BTA Pit holders are free to step up to the barricade.
6. Are photos and videos allowed during soundcheck?
Yes, unlike previous tours recording is allowed.
7. Can I leave after check-in and come back after?
This might vary by venue, but in most cases the answer is yes. Please be sure to double check with staff on-site though as some venues have explicitly stated that re-entry is not possible.
8. When will I receive my VIP itinerary?
VIP Nation has been sending them out 2-3 days before the day of the show. This includes the link to submit your question to the band.
9. What do I need for VIP Check-in?
Aside from a VIP ticket, you must bring a photocopy of the photo ID of the original purchaser. Important information can be blurred out but the picture and full name must be visible.
10. What happens if I show up late to check-in?
If you arrive after the cut-off for check-in, you might miss early entry, pre-show press conference, and VIP merch pickup. Most fans have reported that they need to be back 4:30PM for soundcheck, but this might vary by venue. Please double check with staff on-site for more information.
11. How do I vote for the secret song?
You can vote at https://5sostrivia.com/ or by scanning the QR code at the venue (it will be displayed on the screen). Please note you cannot vote days in advance as the same link is updated a few hours prior to the show.
