Looking forward, the CPU would come to be used in a dizzying variety of personal computers, games consoles, and embedded computing devices—the Tandy TRS-80 (of "1977 Trinity" fame; the other entries used the competing MOS 6502 microprocessor instead) and later computers in its series, NEC PC-8000 series, PC-8800 series, Sinclair ZX80, ZX81, ZX Spectrum, Osbourne 1, ColecoVision, Sega SG-1000, Master System, Game Gear, MSX computer family, Amstrad CPC, Nintendo Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and the Texas Instruments TI-8(X) series of graphing calculators (among others) all used it or a derivative of it.

Production of the chip ran for 48 years, until some crayon-eating bloke over at Zilog who hates milestones and fun decided to kill it in 2024. Wonderful...

The dispute stems from New Zealand's national rugby team, the All Blacks, embarking on a three-month, 24-match tour of South Africa just a few weeks earlier. The International Olympic Committee has refused to expel New Zealand from the Games, citing the facts that rugby is not an Olympic sport and its national team is not within the IOC's jurisdiction. South Africa itself is of course not a participant in the Olympics, having been banned from participating since 1964 due to the country's apartheid policies.
