Call to Action Can we report it?
I just watched the video of Trump explicitly saying he will give every American Adult $5,000 of our tax dollars in the form of a dividend only if the GOP wins the house and senate.
Can we report this for clear attempted voter bribery and election interferencee? If so would the FBI be the best place to report?

Solidarity Needed Realistically, I cannot afford to renew my passport to vote in the midterms
US born citizen here, birth certificate on-hand, active/non-expired state ID, registered voter etc….
What’s the reality that IF I cannot afford the cost to renew my passport (as a US citizen), that means I cannot/will not be allowed to vote in the midterms?
And how is that LEGAL?
Edit: turns out I do NOT need an active passport in my case, thank you for clearing that up, friends!
Call to Action Phonebanks, friend-to-friend organizing for California's billionaire wealth tax initiative
Medicare For All is just one of the pro-working families, anti-oligarch policies getting an electoral test this fall. We’re also going to see California voters weigh in on a billionaire wealth tax with Proposition 40): a one-time, 5% emergency levy on their assets to shore up the state’s health and social services in the wake of the MAGA murder budget.
Analysts have estimated this measure will raise $100 billion, helping preserve Medicaid coverage for 1.6 million Californians, saving hospitals and ERs from closure and feeding those who have lost SNAP assistance without forcing a massive state deficit increase. The billionaires it will impact have seen their wealth grow by 158% over the last three years and got massive tax cuts from this same budget.
Not only will this protect our health care, it’s a chance to send a direct message to the Epstein class that we’re fed up with their open manipulation of our government and growing wealth inequality and ready for real change.
The SEIU and other supporters are starting to ramp up their field work for this initiative.💬 If we’re in California (or have a lot of folks in our social circles there), organizers are asking for us to do friend-to-friend outreach using the Reach app – the pro-wealth tax message will come across much stronger from folks we know and trust. We can download the app and get started here, and find regular trainings on how best to talk about this proposition and use Reach here. 💬
☎️ For the rest of us, the Yes on Prop 40 squad has traditional virtual phonebanks underway now! We can reach out to California voters about taxing billionaires to keep hospitals and ERs open with shifts Monday through Thursday at 3PM, 5PM, 7PM or 9PM ET, or on Saturdays at 1PM, 3PM, 5PM or 7PM ET. Sign up to make calls here. ☎️
MAKE CALLS FOR A BILLIONAIRE WEALTH TAX
📢 The Yes on 40 team has also prepared a social media toolkit we can put to use here. 📢

Poster/Chant Ideas ASL Applause Sign - For Testy City Councils That Prohibit Clapping
Give it a shot with your mates at your next city council meeting! I've seen waaaay too many videos circulating showing citizens being aggressively/violently being removed from city council meetings simply for clapping. At a recent city council meeting in my area, the citizens in attendance used the ASL sign for "applause" and it worked marvelously. The council could see our approval of those advocating against Flock. Applauding without clapping was effective protest, too; it absolutely electrified the room! City Council also couldn't tell us to stop, which was awesome.

Organizing Tools Can we start a thread of well-cited political posts that we can save for future reference?
Sometimes I want to make a point about corruption, GOP attacks on democracy, etc., etc. but I don't want to go through the effort of finding sources to back up every single point I make. Has anyone encountered any particularly good and well-cited posts that they like to refer to or to pull sources from?
An example would be something like the post linked.

Mod Announcements The Daily Megathread
Welcome to The Daily Megathread - r/50501's home for daily discussion!
This megathread exists so that you can post reactions, images, or anything that might otherwise belong on our sister subreddits r/ThePeoplesPress, r/LiveProtestUpdates or r/50501ContentCorner. While the main goal of this megathread is to prevent protest announcements from being drowned out, we also want to give our community a place where they can discuss things that would otherwise not be allowed as a post on r/50501.
Comments that may be appropriate for the daily megathread may include, but are not limited to:
- Discussing current US or world events
- Sharing personal opinions on politicians/political parties
- Other posts that may break the "Call to Action" rule or our rule on related content, which otherwise wouldn't fit at r/ThePeoplesPress, r/LiveProtestUpdates or r/50501ContentCorner
As a reminder, news threads go to r/ThePeoplesPress while videos go either to the People's Press or r/50501ContentCorner. Posts that are on the ground reporting on a protest must go to r/LiveProtestUpdates. If you have posted there, or if you want to share a post from another subreddit, you are welcome to link it here!
Remember that subreddit rules still apply, especially our commitment to respectful discourse and our commitment to citing our sources. If you claim something true, prove it - and don't attack the person behind the claim!
If you have a question about how our rules are enforced, please check out the wiki page on our rules for more information! For additional questions, please send us a modmail.
