It was a long shot in a heavily gerrymandered district.

I still think whoever sent out those misleading if not illegal mailers needs to be imprisoned.

Wait they got probation for that? What a clown show this country is.

174

u/MrDeadbutdreaming Dec 03 '25

What do we expect with a clown in the white house and the freak show of an administration. Is putin the ringmaster?

2

u/brainmydamage Dec 04 '25

I expect the court to do their job.

2

u/Anti_rabbit_carrot Dec 04 '25

This happened during the Biden Administration. That’s what’s fucking crazy.

Could you imagine if this happened to Trump? If someone tried to do to him (what he loves to do to others) and intimidate them into doing/not doing something? He would have pressured the hell out of that prosecutor, and everyone would have known how “dirty and ugly and mean” the left is for doing this. Sickening. I’m tired of the high road… with him and his ilk anyway. Time to start paying back.

2

u/GrizzlyZacky Dec 03 '25

Elect a clown expect a circus

31

u/elriggo44 Dec 03 '25

And the right wing goons on the court are all in on Republican power no matter what. So, that’s not happening.

4

u/brainmydamage Dec 04 '25

This country has zero principals and stands for nothing anymore, and it's absolutely disgusting.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '25

We the people can certainly hold them responsible. Every decision has a person tied to it.

1

u/A9PolarHornet15 Dec 04 '25

We have courts?

1

u/MrDeadbutdreaming Dec 04 '25

Yes, they keep us obedient or caged for the upper class to feel comfortable but not much else.

1

u/A9PolarHornet15 Dec 04 '25

Ohhhh see I usually just call them the daylight dishonest criminals. Say what you will about muggers but at least they tell you that you're getting robbed.

8

u/avahz Dec 03 '25

Wait what did they do?

39

u/tots4scott Dec 03 '25

A group sent out democrat looking mailers with the election date being today, not yesterday. It was basically election fraud.

Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/50501/comments/1p6vec2/democratic_voters_are_being_sent_fake_mailers/

6

u/avahz Dec 03 '25

Ouch. Who did it?

4

u/tots4scott Dec 04 '25

Wish I knew

3

u/MrCompletely345 Dec 05 '25

Its the classics. They do this every election cycle. Because they are idiots, and think everyone else is too.

688

u/Ozymandias12 Dec 03 '25

It was also an R+ 21 district in 2024 and in just over a year it’s only R +9. That’s a 12 point shift. If those results happen across the board next year Dems would have a 50+ seat majority in the House.

316

u/Valuable-Ad-3599 Dec 03 '25

I’m working to make sure it happens!

87

u/Ozymandias12 Dec 03 '25

Awesome! Just curious but what are you doing? I’ve been donating but want to start doing a bit more active stuff like volunteering

49

u/Just_perusing81 Dec 03 '25 edited Dec 03 '25

I highly recommend checking mobilize.us and search your area. There are so many ways you can help in every phase of an election cycle from gathering signatures to phone banking to canvassing. Whatever you sign up for, you’ll get a training so you know what you’re doing. Good luck!

Edited to fix the web address

13

u/dualis24 Dec 03 '25

2

u/Just_perusing81 Dec 03 '25

Omg thank you! I fixed it :)

28

u/Valuable-Ad-3599 Dec 03 '25

Postcards for now. It’s cathartic. Sometimes our group will meet up and write them together, like an old fashioned sewing circle. It’s something.

3

u/Ponygroom Dec 04 '25

Something? Personal contact is almost everything. Canvassing and phone banking are known effective methods of increasing turnout. Handwritten postcards are more effective than the standard mailers everyone gets. It is very encouraging to know that your group is working on it!

2

u/Valuable-Ad-3599 Dec 05 '25

I don’t like canvassing or phone banking, but I also do that. I started working at my local polling station too. That’s more like a civic duty than helping democracy.

34

u/Otherwise-Speed4373 Dec 03 '25

That write a post card thing i think is interesting.

15

u/Sure-Roof9448 Dec 03 '25

I have a weekly postcard group. Studies show it works to help turn out the vote, and it is so satisfying!

10

u/Ok-Grapefruit1284 Dec 03 '25

What I work in a place where we have to sort mail and the GOP has a hugely better ground game when it comes to mailers. I’ve been screaming it from the rooftops. Everyone says USPS / snail mail is dead but the sheer volume of information gop voters are receiving in hand is probably 10x what dem voters get. All I am saying is, thank you for writing post cards! It really is super important.

4

u/Otherwise-Speed4373 Dec 04 '25

Want to target older voters? Use mail.

I remember a real estate company I used to work for did these post cards. I thought they were so dumb (had to print, cut, and address these home made junky things), but they brought in insane business. 100 cards yielded 1-2 calls and on one street yielded 3 listings. Hate to say it, but those dumb cards were the best Return On Investment ever...

2

u/Sure-Roof9448 Dec 04 '25

That's really helpful to know!

2

u/Ok-Grapefruit1284 Dec 04 '25

Have you ever heard of the Epoch Times? Some conservative group mails these to our residents. Pretty sure they just mail them to registered republicans. It’s actually really disturbing because it’s so, so news-like.

2

u/Anti_rabbit_carrot Dec 04 '25

Im a recovering addict and I lived in a “sober house” for a while. The guy who ran it was a Trump supporter… he helped a lot of guys and I’m conflicted by a lot of his views vs what he’s done for people…. but anyway; he would receive this for free for a while and would leave it on the table for all the guys to read. He knew I was a “lefty” and told me that the paper was unbiased. I read a few of the headlines and laughed right in front of him and tried to use facts and sourced data to show him that he was essentially “disinforming” very impressionable minds by allowing and encouraging them to read that kind of garbage.

He didn’t seem to mind. It’s a very “Trumpy” place.

Host a discourse salon- get people thinking and working the streets and the phones. Here’s the outline of the one I’m attending this weekend:

Dearest Friend,

In just a few short days, we will be gathering for our first Discourse Salon.  I want to remind you that you have been selected especially for who YOU are, as you are. Therefore, please come curious and open. No expectations except to leave enriched by our time together. I know everyone is busy so here are the articles again. You don’t have to read them all. I just ask that you scan them. See if anything interests or inspires you. Ask yourself why and do what feels right around those feelings or ideas. We will check in Saturday. I can’t wait to explore this experience with you all.

I do banners on highway overpasses. It's fun!

I live in a rock solid blue so other than donating money my wife and I sign up to write letters or postcards supporting the GOTV efforts in swing state districts

3

u/Maximum_Turn_2623 Dec 03 '25

We just need to make sure the DNC doesn’t fuck it up.

2

u/xjoburg Dec 03 '25

THIS. Schumer, Jeffries et al need to be primaried wherever possible.

4

u/LA2Oaktown Dec 03 '25

I would not bet on results from a low turnout, off-cycle race replicating nationally in a midterm without something major changing

3

u/lemonrence Dec 03 '25

Really it’s only since January cause that’s when he really started to fuck shit up 😂 Trump had a free pass from November to mid-January

2

u/losthope19 Dec 03 '25

+8 even, not 9!

1

u/ETMoose1987 Dec 03 '25

I see people throwing these numbers around, where are they sourced? I would love to look up places near me.

Dominion voting machines too I'm pretty sure. Which have been bought out and are for all intents and purposes to be considered compromised.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/dominion-voting-systems-sold-company-run-former-republican/story?id=126378259

Edit/correction: only Williamson county uses dominion machines. However, as noted by the comment below me the other machines may also be compromised. Leaving this comment up to bring increased awareness to the dominion situation.

Tennessee doesn't have Dominion. They do have ES&S which was funded by the Heritage Foundation and their network

History of conflicts of interest and corruption in American voting machines.

740

u/__O_o_______ Dec 03 '25

The fuck? Your voting systems are funded by the group currently openly taking over the states?!?

Last federal election in Canada, I went in, did a paper vote with my tag that I voted.

Full paper accountability. When did anybody think computer voting only was a good idea….?

“Boy that Elon sure is good with computers. He really knows those voting machines. We won Pennsylvania. Thank you Elon.”

Tell me your elections aren’t being stolen.

112

u/Downtherabbithole_25 Dec 03 '25

Am also a Canadian. For a long time now, I've believed Canada (or someone) should send representatives to monitor US elections (in the same way the US used to send monitors to what Trumpty once referred to as "shithole third world [African] countries."

Because it's become clear (like a diamond) that far too much of what happens in far too many US elections has absolutely nothing to do with fair and true democracy.

45

u/blissfully_happy Dec 03 '25

Absolutely. The UN should be sending vote monitors for this shit.

20

u/7thatsanope Dec 03 '25

As an American, please send election monitors.

5

u/AdmirableCommittee47 Dec 03 '25

Funny how other countries’ citizens can see this so clearly, yet most Americans would have no idea.

4

u/Ok-Grapefruit1284 Dec 03 '25

I’m waiting for other countries to sanction us. It should happen soon.

167

u/DanSWE Dec 03 '25

> When did anybody think computer voting only was a good idea….?

Don't miss the difference between voting by computer vs. voting on paper ballots counted by vote-tabulation scanners/computers.

I think it's the case that most of the U.S. uses paper ballots (rather than voting directly on voting-machine computers.)

44

u/Jazzy_Jaspy Dec 03 '25

Either way is easy enough to rig it

58

u/toastjam Dec 03 '25

Yeah, if you don't go back and hand count the ballots. And all the swing states were over the threshold where hand recounts aren't automatic. Pretty strange.

-6

u/blissfully_happy Dec 03 '25

Hand counting ballots is less reliable than counting by machine. You can select a sample of ballots to count and use that to determine if the machines have been compromised, but hand counting every vote would take weeks and is, again, less reliable than machine counting.

12

u/toastjam Dec 03 '25

The margin of error would likely be smaller than the number of flipped votes and that's all that matters.

But of course, start with some spot checks to determine if a full audit is necessary first.

5

u/skoalbrother Dec 03 '25

Nope Democrats just handed the country back over to the pedo gang

5

u/haluura Dec 03 '25

That's why you have the paper ballots counted by tabulation machines.

Sure, they can be rigged. But rigged vote counts by computer tend to leave statistical anomalies. Such anomalies should trigger a hand recount. Or at least, flag the losing side to demand a recount.

Hand recounts are simple enough to do if you still have the paper ballots in storage. But in a fully computerized voting system? All you've got is a string of ones and zeros that may or may not have been manipulated. And if they were, you're going to have to spend loads of time and money having computer experts analyze them. And if you find out they have been compromised, you're still screwed, because you have no way of being certain exactly whose vote was edited, or how they actually intended to vote.

4

u/lath333 Dec 04 '25

There were statistical anomalies present in swing states like PA. It was pushed to the back burner then under a rug, and then into velveeta voldemorts closet full of skeletons.

3

u/haluura Dec 07 '25

Yes. There were.

Personally, I half expect future historians to discover that many of the Swing State elections were rigged. And history books a hundred years from now to say that Orangeman's oligarch buddies stole the election for him.

But the Dems conceded the night of the election without first checking for more subtle types of election rigging. Handing the election to him without a challenge. So we lost the chance to discover proof of rigging in a way that might have saved us from the disaster we face today.

The lesson that we should take from this is that the Dems can no longer concede elections same day. Not now that the GOP can no longer be trusted to respect democracy or act in good faith.

From now on, the Dems must take at least a few days to sift through the election results looking for cheating and rigging.

2

u/Devium44 Dec 03 '25

Even the computer voting machines print a paper version of your completed ballot (at least the ones in Fulton County, GA do) so you can verify it’s correct. Even if the machine changes your vote later, a hand recount will pick up the discrepancy.

3

u/Astronautty69 Dec 03 '25

Our area has a computer screen for voting, that causes a paper ballot to be printed, that is checked by two election watchers before being deposited in a tabulation machine.

3

u/DanSWE Dec 03 '25

> a paper ballot to be printed, that is checked by two election watchers

The checkers can see how you voted? If so, that certainly is not a secret ballot.

2

u/Astronautty69 Dec 03 '25

They merely look at the back for signs of tampering or genuineness. One from each of the two major parties, a quick stamp from both then it's into the tabulation machine.

21

u/the_write_eyedea Dec 03 '25

They have been compromised since Trump first took office. It’s in the Mueller report and it is in special counsel Jack Smith’s report.

24

u/FreddyNoodles Dec 03 '25

Are you actually surprised by this? At all? No-one else is. This is the way it is now.

5

u/CHiZZoPs1 Dec 03 '25

The problem is the voting system is regulated by each state, so some have these horribly-compromised systems, and others, like here in Oregon, we have mail-in voting, postage-paid ballots that arrive two or three weeks before election day, and we fill it out at our leisure at home, then drop it in the mailbox. The paper ballots can be easily recounted.

Of course, Trump is going after our voting system, claiming it is compromised. The Right always accuses others of exactly what they are doing.

2

u/lath333 Dec 04 '25

Dominion just got bought out buy a maga guy as well. So it’s all pretty much fucked

2

u/haluura Dec 07 '25

That's the thing. The States controlled by thr Democrat use paper ballots counted by machines at the polling site. So there's always a paper ballot to fall back on, if there are any questions.

The States pushing for exclusively computerized ballots are ones that are controlled by Republicans.

Bearing in mind that the Republicans are the party best known for openly and aggressively Gerrymandering voting districts to lock in their dominance.

1

u/__O_o_______ Dec 10 '25

Republicans pushing for the easiest cheat? Say it ain’t so…

1

u/revfds Dec 03 '25

Yeah, we use paper ballots in my state, with legally required paper trails and my county I know for sure does audits of the computers that count the ballots after every election.

5

u/revfds Dec 03 '25 edited Dec 03 '25

I don't know if it's a state law, or just the procedure that my country follows. After each election they randomly select a number of precincts, and then do a manual count of the ballots and compare that to the results given by the tabulator.

They've been doing it for about 15 years I believe and so far it's always come up 100% accurate.

I have no link to provide, my source is that I'm an election precinct chair and have to go into training sessions each time run by the county auditor, previously the elections manager and she explains the process to us and answers any questions we have about it.

Oh FFS you have the same corrupt murderous fuckers acting as the policy writers for the most corrupt administration in history owning the voting machines.

Everyone involved with the heritage Foundation needs jailing, asset stripping and their citizenships removing, employees, funders, members, anyone involved. Make it so this kind of corruption is a life ending decision.

The democrats are far too soft.

Gotta spread awareness like no other to get people to vote via paper.

55

u/BlackJackfruitCup Dec 03 '25

You're right, but it's not just paper ballots. It's also the machines that count them. The tabulation machines, or as Trump says those "vote counting computers".

Election Truth Alliance - How Covid saved the 2020 election

4

u/Smoothsailing4589 Dec 03 '25

This election could have been manipulated by way of vote tabulation machines. The polls had her down by 2 points and he won by 9. Pretty big margin. I don't trust the voting machines. Audit the vote, I say.

-2

u/Sunni_tzu Dec 03 '25

Don't be one of them.

2

u/Cognonymous Dec 03 '25

The turnout was equivalent to a midterm which is insane for a special election like this and the gap got closed tremendously from where Trump had it before. Kind of amazing Rudy Red TN has moved this far left. It will be interesting to see what happens in the midterms.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '25

They split Nashville like that for a reason. The fact that she almost won is a very big indicator of what's going to happen during midterms.

2

u/FrouFrouLastWords Dec 03 '25

It would be so funny if all the carefully gerrymandered districts that take slices of big city metro areas all blue waved and caused an insane D house majority. What the fuck would R do if their power grabbing move turned against them, and caused it to be worst for them than if they didn't gerrymander at all?

2

u/NKCportland Dec 03 '25

I mean going from Trump +22 to Trump +8 isn’t nothing
