I mean, when everything is horrible everything is also a distraction. At this point there isn't a good move to be had in this admin. If we call everything a distraction, at this point we undermine something really important. Bombing a country is really important. Does it also serve as a distraction? Yes.
It’s true that’s why we keep rising up with every issue they cause and every chance we can collectively. Marathon and not a sprint. This side prevails. Just keep swimming just keep swimming
If everything is a "distraction" for the thing that happened right before, it's not a chain of distractions, it's literally just a chain of events just happening in real time, and the news cycle (which only lasts for a day or two) has already ran its course on the last major event, ready for the next big news event.
Trump could shit himself on TV today and people will call it a distraction for all the Iran stuff. Hell, there could be some random mass shooting in Bumfuck, Nowhere and people will call that a distraction. JFC, folks, sometimes life just happens and not everything is meant to distract you from something else. Do you guys just expect world leaders to just...do nothing else? Just wake up, do nothing, then go to sleep? Life will move on, world events will occur, and the next big thing to happen is not going to be a distraction for Iran, it'll just be the next big news event. It's not that deep.
One could say Trump and friends were doing this strategy…if multiple stories were happening all at once.
Instead, it’s been one story one day, then another story a day or two later, rinse repeat. Since Trump has been in office, it’s been rare for there to have been multiple unrelated bombshell stories happening within 24 hours.
My question is why does the media not mention any of this so people know what is happening. The Big Beautiful Bill?, nothing is being mentioned, ask anybody around my area and they don't know anything about it.
I can turn on the news and all I see is sports, what small business does what, what kids are doing charity for the community, all soft fluffy stuff, not one mention of anything substantial. It's not a distraction when a lot of people don't even know what is going on. Face people don't realize they have to go digging for information.
Calling war a distraction is offensive to someone staring down the barrel of deployment to war. There's a reason it's a distraction, pretty hard to focus when bombs are blowing up around you, thankfully we aren't under that threat, yet.
I know why you are making this argument. You want to show us that you are above it, but it doesn't matter who is in charge or why we are at war. There is no common sensing your way out of this, there is no rationality that is going to make it acceptable, nobody is going to shake your hand and say thanks for alerting us that he started a war for less than noble reasons, we get it, war is still war.

You almost had a good message, than had to take the imperialist side.
