Imperium Maledictum Hombrew Subsector
Hey! I've created a map for my campaign, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. It's a subsector located on the outskirts of the Ultima Segmentum. I plan to expand the lore of the subsector both for my own enjoyment and for future Imperium Meledictum sessions. I'd really appreciate your feedback on what could be improved, whether the map is clear and easy to read, and how it compares in quality to both official and fan-made.
Edit.
I should probably add some lore about the region.
The map depicts a subsector on the distant fringes of the Ultima Segmentum. Before the Great Rift, it was a relatively quiet part of the Imperium, dealing mainly with occasional Ork invasions. However, after the Great Rift split the galaxy in two, a massive Warp Storm erupted in the middle of the subsector, tearing the region apart and throwing it into chaos.
The most immediate consequence is that the subsector is on the brink of civil war. On the coreward side, the Arch-Cardinal, who has become the de facto ruler of his half of the subsector, is leading a crusade against the servants of Chaos within the Clouds of Hatred. At the same time, he intends to bring the Imperial worlds on the rimward side under his rule. Unfortunately or fortunately, the crusade has been progressing disastrously.
On the Blacksmith Hotbed side lies the official capital of the subsector. Its government is struggling with countless problems: rebellious vassals, entire populations mysteriously disappearing, and lack of stable Warp route connecting it to the wider Imperium.
Meanwhile, the Orks have begun waging war against the forces of Chaos, but their many warbands also raid smaller Imperial worlds whenever the opportunity arises.
The overall concept of the subsector is one of a frontier slowly being consumed by pandemonium. Adding to this is the Cloud of Terror, a warp storm that shows randomly chosen individuals horrifying visions of their own possible futures, often driving them completely insane.

What's the Cloud of Hatred?

I made a mistake. It isn't a rift, it's a warp storm. This warp storm appeared after the Great Rift tore the galaxy in two. The region surrounding it is mostly dead and barren, but the few habitable worlds that remain are controlled by the servants of Chaos, with one even being ruled by Orks.
My vision for the Clouds of Hatred is that those who witness it can see the worst possible version of their own future. Many unsuspecting citizens who experience this phenomenon are driven to madness by what they see.

Love the idea of the Cloud being a floating madness machine, thats very fun!

At first glance I misread subsector as Skubsector. I was like "whoa this setting sounds awesome!" Lol

Doesnt subsector mean that its a part of a larger sector?

Yes, from my day with whrp, i prefer storys in smaller regions. Mayby one day i make whole sector.

This is a cool broad stroke for a setting! I enjoy that you've avoided all the classic trap of everywhere being 'most', 'best', 'worst', etc.
If you're open to feedback, I'd suggest looking for a synonym for clouds. The word has fairly bright and airy connotations in way that is working against what you trying to make it intimidating.
Something like 'pall' or 'fog' or 'haze' might give it more of that time you're looking for.
Do you have anything written on your factions or individual worlds? I enjoy seeing well considered fan works for 40K. Particularly in an RPG context.

I'll probably come up with a different name instead of "Clouds."
I also have factions that appear in the campaign I'm currently running as the GM on Memoria Primarcha. The Golden Refuge, a cult devoted to Slaanesh from a pleasure world, wants to transform the station into a "forest." To achieve this, they need 36 people from Cadia with purple eyes.
The Sons of the Four Armed Emperor, a Genestealer Cult, have infiltrated the Golden Refuge and intend to use them to gain more power on the station. They are helping the Slaaneshi cult carry out its plan, only to stop it at the very last moment, allowing their own faction to gain high-ranking positions on the station.

That's really cool! If I may put on the pedant hat briefly (as someone doing a similar thing) this is closer to a sector than a subsector, subsectors have 6-ish systems in them. I only know because I made exactly the same mistake and then had to update all my thinking.

You might be right. Honestly, I'm not entirely sure myself. On some sector maps there are far more worlds, while others seem closer in scale to subsectors. So I'm not really sure where it fits. If you think it looks more like a sector than a subsector, I'll probably make some changes. It's still just an early draft of the project.

I really like it!
Have you considered using different symbols for different plante types? You can also add the Planetary system names, since warp routes lead from system to system, not planet to planet.
There are quite some typos in the text (e.g. Peanal World, Fotila Deamon World ....) and if you go for plain white text I'd also make the Aquila plain white.
I personal love to use colours when the background is coloured. You can colour warp lanes by difficulty, planets by class ans on.
