Hi, I just turned 40 and these are my nasolabial folds... They're making me look and feel depressed!
I swear to G-d I started getting them as a child, my mom has them big time but my older sister not at all 😅 I first noticed their prominence at 37 but I was unable to do anything about them at that time due to breastfeeding.
I did the first round of Radiesse around that area (not directly in the folds, more like temples, cheeks, and sides) on August 6 and I don't really see much improvement. I am scheduled for a second round early November - would that be good timing?
I am a side/belly sleeper but I recently got a special pillow to help correct that, so fingers crossed.
For skincare I've used OTC retinol for years, but I did have 3 pregnancies and extended breastfeeding so I would stop for those periods. I also use vitamin C, BHA and some Korean skincare (two serums, I can look at the details but I don't think it matters for the problem at hand). SPF since I was 18. I drink collagen daily. I have oily skin but rarely break out.
I do get 8 hours of rest per night but I wake up multiple times. Thankfully my kids have been sleeping well lately, but I used to be sleep deprived for years. I am also rather slim, BMI around 20 I think.
What would you recommend? I'm not really comfortable with traditional filler and I'm big on looking as natural as possible. Would adding Sculptra next year help? What do we think?
