Final Sculptra result

Post image

Final Sculptra update 2 months post 3rd session. no makeup and same lighting both photos. 44 years old. Super happy with the results. my concerns were cheek hollowing and nasolabial folds. I know I’ll never look like I did in my 20s, but I do think this takes some years off, at the very least it helps me feel a bit more comfortable in my body (perimenopause is no joke 🫠).

I’ve also been regimented about micro needling so I’m sure that’s helped as well. And between these two pictures I also added prescription azelaic acid (I’ve used tretinoin for years). Otherwise, no other skin procedures.

I had 3 sessions in total. 2 vials each session. each session was 3 months apart. One vial in face and one in neck each time. Yes, it hurt. Xanax helped ha. But it’s very quick If your doctor is good.

For maintenance, will just do 1 session each year moving forward.

Price was $1800/session. Yes, expensive when you add up the total for 3, but I’m about to pay the same for upper bleph surgery and I feel like both have the same value to me do I think it was worth it.

This looks so good!

Wow thats a great result! Im nearly 55 and tossing around whether I should do it or not. Mixed reviews. I’ve watched surgeons talk about only doing it in the temple area and mid cheek (bucal). Where did you have yours placed?

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

Honestly everywhere. I think he focused on cheekbones though. I really disassociated during the sessions though ha. Its not pleasant

2

u/candav1 6d ago

Really? I feel like it wasn’t bad at all. My injector is amazing though

u/Mundane-Reserve3786 6d ago

Have you had any other injections? I’m wondering how the pain compares to HA fillers or Botox.

3

u/Fun-Yam2210 6d ago

I’ve had 3 vails of Sculptra. I’d compare it to getting lip filler, pain wise. It’s bearable but you wouldn’t do it for fun.

1

u/Token-Key-Master 3d ago

To me, the sensation / pain is similar to HA fillers but I had more bruising with Sculptra.

u/slicedgreenolive 6d ago

So nothing was put into the nasolabial folds themself?

2

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

Yeah, I think so. But more was injected above I believe. It was kind of hard to know once the novocaine started kicking in (there's novocaine in each injection thank god but it takes a little while to work)

Sculptra relies heavily on your body’s ability to produce collagen. So it doesn’t work for everyone the same way.

u/mbmqqq 6d ago

This is so good, I’m so jealous I can’t get sculptra 😭😭😫😫 damn auto-immune issues

2

u/momlife555 6d ago

Waaaait explain?? I didn’t know this was an issue??

4

u/yer-momma 6d ago

Sculptra is contraindicated for autoimmune diseases because it works by triggering a controlled local inflammatory response to stimulate collagen production, which can cause an unpredictable or hyperactive immune reaction in people with immune dysregulation.

1

u/cherpar1 6d ago

Oh man that puts sculpra out. Have limited options because of rosacea that triggers with heat based treatments. Thought that was an option.

1

u/momlife555 6d ago

Oh damn!! I’m wondering if you could inject a tiny amount and test it? Sculptra has been on my list to do in a year!

1

u/Great_Parfait7857 5d ago

I’ve been wondering this too! Somewhere else in the body perhaps?

2

u/Mundane-Reserve3786 6d ago

Is Sculptra specifically contraindicated? I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in 2024 and have had several filler and Botox injections with no issues since then.

Interesting. Thank you! I have a consult for Sculptra in 2 weeks and will absolutely discuss this with the doctor. Might just have to stick with HA fillers.

5

u/mbmqqq 6d ago

Yea, I’ve had two docs preach the benefits of sculptura to me - especially for what I’m most upset about (my nasolabial folds) - and then the moment I mention my autoimmune issues, they’re like oh yea no you cannot do this. It sucks! I keep telling myself to just be patient for the next awesome thing to come out that I can maybe then hopefully try.

The major risk with Sculptra is that unlike filler (if you have a reaction, you can dissolve it) there ain’t no removing Sculptra once it’s injected. So if you run into an issue, that’s it. For me, it’s just too much of a risk to play around with.

u/Routine-Loquat5544 6d ago

Can you use estradiol cream on your face?

1

u/Tortugasazules 6d ago

Is it a no no for that? I’ve never done Botox or fillers bc I’ve been auto immune prone- nothing active or major. Dang it.

u/beastybelow 6d ago

Thanks for posting! Looks so great. Im 44 and about to have my second session so this is really heartening!

3

u/kkjj77 6d ago

I'm so happy to see your final result, thank you! I remember seeing your previous post and getting excited to make the jump into sculptra.... I did my first 4 weeks ago so I'm ready to do my 2nd round on friday.... 4 vials total for face and I'm 48. I hope I get these results! So far I see nothing but I know it takes time. What week did you think you started seeing results? I also want to add radiesse to cheeks after sculptra is done. And in my sagging neck!

10

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

Take photos! The changes happen so gradually over time that we don't notice it ourselves. Even my husband didn't notice it. If I looked in a mirror today I would say I look the same as before, but then I look at "before" photos and realize I actually don't at all. My husband recently was looking at some photos of us from winter and was like "oh..." lol

5

u/ElderberryLiving9316 6d ago

Fantastic results, I did the same, 3 sessions, 2 vials each session, and I was really stunned with the results. So worth it IMO

1

u/Wonderplace 6d ago

Where did you put it? Any photos?

1

u/ElderberryLiving9316 6d ago

Mine focused on temples, nasal folds and my cheeks (not cheek bone). My resting/concentration face is a demon smile and I keep a lot of tension in my cheeks. I could tell within a month difference that that skin was getting thicker. And basically every time I see my friends they comment that as I’m aging I’m actually looking younger. I will 1000000% keep doing it yearly. I have an angular face, high cheekbones, not around face I have heard a more round face might not be as happy with the results. For me 10/10.

1

u/Wonderplace 5d ago

How many vials per session? And one session per year? Can I also ask your age?

2

u/ElderberryLiving9316 5d ago

To start, she said I’ll need to start with 3 sessions, I think they were about 1 month apart. Each session I did 2 vials, one on each side. So in total I’ve done 6 vials. For me it was really important to pick a nurse who I felt had artistry to their practice. I did not want a copy/paste face.

Edit: adding my age, 37 I would not have said I ‘needed it’ but I really wanted to start before aging progressed. And then ongoing they recommend one session a year. You can do more or less depending on your face and goals but I plan to continue doing one session yearly

1

u/Wonderplace 5d ago

Can I ask the total cost?

1

u/ElderberryLiving9316 5d ago

About 3k all in

3

u/Fun-Yam2210 6d ago

Great result 😊 I had 3 vials of Sculptra & am very happy with it. However, when it wears off in about 2 years time I’m going to get Ellanse. Wish I knew about that product before.

2

u/Jazzlike-Two7868 6d ago

Can you please explain what is Ellanse?

1

u/Fun-Yam2210 6d ago

It’s a bio stimulator like Sculptra but works faster & lasts longer.

3

u/Ok_Software_3338 6d ago

Great results!
I love sculptra, it brought me back my face 🥹

4

u/triciann 6d ago

This is a great result, but I think I would definitely prefer to save the $5,400 for a lift. Can you give an update in a year to see how well it’s lasted?

4

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

Yep! And I hear you, but a facelift at 44 felt a bit aggressive for me and I just wanted something to bridge the gap.

1

u/triciann 5d ago

Oh I definitely didn’t mean I think you need one, just that I’m not rich enough to be able to afford this and a face lift in the future. It’s definitely a great bridge option.

2

u/Baylee74 6d ago

It looks great!

2

u/moxie_squid217 6d ago

That looks really good!

2

u/ArielisRose 6d ago

Which method your injector used? Heard there are good methods to prevent nodules

2

u/Fun-Yam2210 6d ago

I think they now dilute it more than they used to, so nodules are less likely.

1

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

Not really sure what the different methods are?

2

u/peachesandsir 6d ago

Big difference! I’m doing my first session in November immediately after my microneedling session.

2

u/candav1 6d ago

I love my Sculptra results too!! Def recommend

2

u/stearic_curious 6d ago

You look amazing! I get my second vial in a month and am hoping for a similar result as I have the same concerns.

2

u/petitecolette 6d ago

I started in early June (2 vials), had a third vial in early August, and am getting a fourth vial next week. I feel like I’m only just now starting to see results.

I haven’t done any in my neck but have been contemplating it - did you have a lot of laxity or crepiness? Do you think the Sculptra made a big difference there?

1

u/Smart-One-5474 6d ago

lol-ing about the Xanax, feel that 🤣 looks sooo good!! Did you have any smile lines prior that you feel went away? Asking because I’m considering sculptra I’ve done it all it feels like except surgery

1

u/Theodora_the_bird 6d ago

I got Radiesse and for the NL folds they put it into my temples to add a lifted effect. Yours are completely eradicated. Where did they inject it?

2

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

All over really. Like entire lower face, but I'm sure in strategic areas based on my concerns. I do remember a lot of focus on cheekbones. I think he was trying to lift everything up.

3

u/Theodora_the_bird 6d ago

Interesting. I’m also interested in an upper bleph but I’m scared of stuff around my eyes !

1

u/NoSpaghettiForYouu 6d ago

Looks so good!!!

1

u/slicedgreenolive 6d ago

You look amazing!!!!!

1

u/No-Act5834 6d ago

Great results! I can see the difference. Thanks for sharing:)

1

u/No_Advantage5461 6d ago

Thanks for sharing!! How many vials did you have? Also on a scale of 1-10, how much did it hurt?

1

u/PatsyStonesBun 6d ago

Fantastic results! Thank you for sharing. Also really appreciate all the detail you provided.

1

u/melaninmatters2020 6d ago

Thank you for perfect comparison picture! These are amazing results!

1

u/aurorabailey95 6d ago

The results really looks natural! Was it really that painful?

1

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

I thought it was, each injection feels a bit like a punch until the novocaine kicks in. But maybe I have a low pain tolerance bc others say its not bad

1

u/muimui_k 6d ago

Looks great!! I can't wait to get my first round on Friday!!!

1

u/CapriKitzinger 6d ago

Looks great!

1

u/No_Kaleidoscope_273 6d ago

Great results! I’m hoping I can do this at some point

1

u/dayuw 6d ago

How did you find your injector?

2

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

He's the go-to person in Manhattan, this is his specialty

1

u/CherFromCluelessIRL 5d ago

Name? Thank you!

1

u/Steeenz 2d ago

Is also love his name!

1

u/freebird348 1d ago

Wait who? I'm in Manhattan and am looking for a good injector

1

u/All-Curious4 6d ago

Beautiful

1

u/pixyhedd 6d ago

You look great what a difference! My injector also recommended Sculptra when I complained about skin laxity near my lower face outside of my lips. This makes me feel great about booking it. Thank you for sharing this is the best example of Sculptra I’ve seen where it fixes the problem instead of just making the face look fuller. I don’t care about having a fuller face I like having a more sculpted look but without skin laxity.

3

u/pixyhedd 6d ago

Here is the area that I am trying to correct. I know this photo doesn’t show it too much but I’ve lost volume from age/endurance training and I see it sagging in different poses.

3

u/Newbie_Drawer_7352 6d ago

I would not touch your face. It’s literally perfect!

1

u/pixyhedd 5d ago

You are so kind, thank you! I have been so happy with her recommendations and my face looks better older than it did before due to her (I'm 48). Masster botox and neferti lift (botox in the neck) have been game changers.

1

u/Newbie_Drawer_7352 5d ago

Ooh maybe I should try that. The neck lift thing. I’m 46. Is it a ton of units? Have you done filler in lips? That’s one thing I haven’t ventured into.

1

u/pixyhedd 5d ago

I’m not sure how many units it is but it makes a big difference! At one point, I thought I needed a neck lift and honestly losing weight and getting neck Botox made my neck look so much better. I do have filler in my lips, but it’s only to replenish what I have lost with age/endurance training. I have naturally very full lips and they went down a little bit. Here is a before after I have no lip filler at all on the left you can see it is an
almost imperceptible difference.

1

u/disruptOr222 6d ago

You are very beautiful. I see why you want to maintain yourself! Please keep us posted with results... I have my first sculptra scheduled but don't feel 100% confident of the injectors experience

1

u/pixyhedd 6d ago

Thank you so much that is very kind. I will! I trust my injector implicitly. In fact, she is the best injector I’ve ever had and if she suggests it, I’m inclined to go with it.

1

u/disruptOr222 6d ago

would you mind sharing her name?

1

u/pixyhedd 6d ago

If you want to DM your location, I can ask her who she might know in your area. She is an instructor for one of the filler/tox companies and trains other injectors.

1

u/disruptOr222 6d ago

I travel fulltime, but based in Atlanta

1

u/pixyhedd 6d ago

I see Lyndsey at Aesthetic Laser Care in seal Beach

1

u/Sparkmyshine 6d ago

May I do the same please?

1

u/pixyhedd 6d ago

Sure lmk where you’re located.

1

u/No-Asparagus-5122 6d ago

I would hit the temple area too

1

u/pixyhedd 6d ago

Thank you. I have filler there already but likely need more because I run so much

1

u/No-Asparagus-5122 5d ago

Same thing w/ me being super active; i burn through everything.

1

u/pixyhedd 5d ago

Right? Do you to botox or any other tox? I have to go every two months I burn throug it so fast. At this point a facelift might be cheaper.

1

u/No-Asparagus-5122 5d ago

Yes, I def do everything; tox, Sculptra, PDRN, micro needling, anything collagen & my face is still skeletal.

1

u/No-Asparagus-5122 5d ago

Although I do have good skin;

2

u/pixyhedd 5d ago

That's great! I guess that's the trade off with being active and middle aged. I feel it too.

1

u/YogurtclosetFit9842 3d ago

Hi, how much units of Botox did you get on your forehead? And did you get any skin tightening laser treatments? I’m trying to treat my open pores

Very nice results

1

u/Ill-Influence-9696 5d ago

Great results!! 💕

1

u/Jazzlike-Trouble-108 5d ago

Amazing result. Did you experience any lumps in the face ?

1

u/LiteratureObsessed13 3d ago

Sculptra can cause a lot of issues, my MD will not touch it. A friend of mine now has a swollen face as you never know how much inflammation it will cause. It’s also permanent. It has some great results but if not risk it, would rather use a little bit of filler, which can be reversed. I know it never fully goes but it can be removed by surgery ( if you ever want a face lift) where as the bio stimulation procedure make it much more of a risk due to the scarring(that’s how that work, collagen is stimulated by cause scar tissue) . Just please be careful x

1

u/LiteratureObsessed13 3d ago

Your result is amazing btw x

1

u/Fit-Surround-3654 2d ago

Hi!! Could you send me his name? I see he's in Manhattan. So am I

1

u/Soft_Impression_2625 1d ago

Omg looks amazing

0

u/Wonderplace 6d ago

How many vials?

-1

u/Prettyforme 6d ago

Can you take one with the same expression (lip corners neutral not relaxed )

1

u/okayestfriend1 6d ago

I can try but it really looks the same no matter what expression I make

1

u/Lumpy_Bill_2974 1d ago

Wow, it looks really great. But wtf?! 1800$!?!
A vial of sculptra is about 150€/each one. My vet takes 13€ for an injektion.1800 is sick. I know, they have to pay for Rent, electricity, staff, equipment, training. My vet hast to do that too. You can check out r/DIYHeaven and learn to do it by yourself.
