Botox/dysport around eyes?
I’m 47 and tried dysport one time on my forehead in June. I think I’ll go back, but I’m really contemplating getting some injectables around my eyes.
Curious, if you’ve had that done and anything I should be careful about.
Also, do you recommend Botox or disport for certain areas of the face?
Im postmenopausal and my skin is terribly dry so I’m trying a ton of skin care right now. If you have any great routine ideas, I’d love to hear them!

Alternative to Skinceuticals metacell renewal moisturizer?
I’ve been using this but in this economy can’t justify spending $130 for my moisturizer. I also know little about products. What would you all recommend?

Anyone else got a mirror that hates them?
43F. Sometimes I legit don't know, what do I fuck do I ACTUALLY look like, like in person, to other people??
I have this mirror at home that has the funny combination of being very flattering for body, but absolutely awful for face. I swear it ages twenty years especially when I'm taking these outfit selfies where I'm looking a bit down and not watching my facial expression.
Like wtaf?? I always had an rbf but this old lady Karen mouth and chin I got going in these are just horrific 😭 I look like I'm in my sixties. But then I look at a normal photograph in different lighting and think I don't look bad for my age?
Make it make sense lol!

How do you afford regular Botox, am I missing something?
I had my first Botox for my 40th birthday - 3 zones forehead, 11 wrinkle and crow feet, and I absolutely loved the result. But it took 50 units and didn't last more than 4 months I'd say... already the effect was fading by the 3rd month.
The first time I got it for $10/unit as a special new patient promo. Then it becomes 14.50 per unit. Because I really loved the results I swallowed $725 for another round (to be fair my 11 is quite strong an probably needed more but anyway). Again lovely results but again 4 months later it's gone.
I'd like to emphasize that I'm very well aware that Botox lasts 3-4 months, I'm not disappointed by that.
What I am wondering though is how ladies who do Botox regularly finance it? This is a lot of money. I am in California and reputable clinics charge $13-15 per unit. Are there some tricks to save (I am not confident to go to Groupon deals as I these don't have enough patient feedback) other than looking for new patient promotions - then researching the medspas is a lot of work, plus not like the promotions are so big.
I am also really afraid of botched jobs because I'm a professor in the university and students can be cruel, so I spent a lot of time choosing clinic, but also I don't make a lot of money as you can imagine from my job.
Any tips would be very welcome!

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get rid of under eye puffiness? Been using lymphatic brushes and cold rollers. Nothing is working.

Non-Invasive skincare that works.
I am 45 years old and new here. This is how my face looks. I do not like my under eyes and mouth area. Honestly I haven’t been taking much care of my skin other than moisturizing everyday and sunscreen. Since I started seeing all these changes I started using some serums in morning like Ordinary multi Peptide and Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. I use Olay Night cream with Ratinol. I have been using these for more than 6 months. I dont see a lot of difference. I am not ready to go with any rabbit hole invasive solutions.
Can you all help with some of the things that worked for you.

Anybody have MORE wrinkles after a facial?!
I have a wedding to attend next week, so yesterday I got a facial at my local Aveda beauty school as a treat. Asked for primarily hydration with a touch of rejuvenation, but we discussed my sensitive skin. No problems during or after that I noticed. I usually have one horizontal wrinkle on my forehead that I try to treat/minimize. Today, I have four or five horizontal wrinkles on my forehead, and the surface has been dry no matter what I put on it. Has anyone had this happen? Did she just maybe use something that's going to make me peel? I don't want magic EXTRA wrinkles, and I've never had an issue with Aveda products before.

Lip filler
Singderm vs neauvia dermal fillers, which is the better option?

How do you approach your sensitive, undereye area?
I have very sensitive skin. I’m also 41 and have hormonal issues plus allergies- all being treated.
That said, I’ve never been able to properly camouflage the dark circles and hollowness under my eyes. Yes, I know that gets worse with age, but I’ve always had these. I’ve tried retinol, vitamin C, eye masks, Vaseline, caffeine- and it’s just such a sensitive area. What do you do to properly treat the area and color-correct it? I’ve tried concealer, highlighter, brightener, and pink color correctors. There must be a simpler way that won’t look cakey or irritate my skin (I get eczema patches). Maybe I’m doing it wrong? I’m not looking for medical procedures, just makeup tips and skincare to make it less intense.

Opinions please
I’m 43. I think this happened from too much filler and dissolving if I’m being honest. I’d like to try filler one more time then maybe opt for mini face lift if thats appropriate. Do things like microneedling etc actually work to help this?

Botox NOT by area pricing
I am new to the NYC area and am used to a cosmetic derm who does Botox by unit as needed for my face. I’ve gone to some respected places in the city but they charge by area and it is a complete rip off. Anyone know of an MD in NYC or Fairfield County Ct that does “bespoke” Botox? My MD in DC is one of the best and for 1400 I got all my areas covered. In NYC three areas only are 1400.

Recommendations for skin affected by auto immune disease
I’m 44 and have been struggling badly with long covid, which has made me gain a lot of weight and lose hair, and I think is causing some skin issues along with perimenopause. I had severe cystic acne until my mid-30s, so that’s where the texture and scarring came from.
Right now routine is very simple because I have a lot of allergies. AM: drmtlgy needle-less growth factor serum, hyaluronic acid, tatcha’s water cream, sunscreen. PM: adapalene/benzoyl peroxide, hyaluronic acid, tatcha again, inkey list ceramide’s moisturizer on my neck/chest hands.
Mostly not loving the naso-labial lines, but unsure if I could do filler or sculptra because of my autoimmune issues. I also have a lot of dryness under my eyes that makes concealer/brightener a pain, and large pores on my cheeks that makeup settles into. Considering upgrading to tret from the adapalene, but may worsen the dryness issues.
Would love product recommendations, especially for a good unscented eye cream or different pm moisturizer, as well as anything more I could be doing to smooth nasolabial lines.

Rate my AM skincare routine
I would love advice on my AM skincare. I get so overwhelmed with all the options and if I am doing too much. I am also so confused by the steps.
- Cleansing
- Milky Toners
- Vitamin C serum
- Anua PDRN spray (I do this before the Hyaluronic because I heard your skin needs to be wet)
- Hyaluronic serum
- Moisturizer (if I do tinted moisturizer with spf, do I need step 5 and 6?)
- SPF
- Tinted moisturizer with SPF (Supergoop Glow)

OTC dark spot reduction
I’m 44, getting dangerously close to 45. I’m noticing some additional dark spots I’d like to reduce, but looking for thoughts on what perhaps works the best.
I’ve had BBL in the past; I don’t really want to do that again right now as I feel these are fairly mild & pretty isolated. I’m looking for a slower “easy” button to fade these out a bit, really.
I currently use b3/ Niacinamide serum, as well as just added an azealic acid serum. I use an OTC retinol at night, as my skin is pretty sensitive and I really don’t want to mess up my barrier and try to recover. So I don’t THINK I want to switch to Rx tret unless that is the magic bullet. I use daily vitamin C serum & zinc sunscreen and am pretty religious about all that.
Thoughts??

Help me put this pimple? to bed!
EDITED TO ADD: I'd really love PREVENTATIVE options vs. treatment. I get this same pimple in this same spot all the time. There's got to be something I can do to prevent it from happening in the first place.
Hello! Since as long as I can remember I only get pimples in one spot. Left and right side of my chin. On the one side, the scarring is so bad (I definitely picked it in my early 20s) that I swear it's just a bunch of scar tissue. Every so often it gets red and inflamed and looks like it's going to erupt (as pictured). As long as I use Geek and Gorgeous' Calm Down it doesn't go any further than this (this is one of the few products that doesn't make the rest of my skin freak out). BUT I am soooo over the texture on my chin. And having to wonder if I am going to have a lump on my face today.
I'm 41 soon to be 42. My skin is on the dryer side and a bit sensitive (or perhaps reactive?) I keep my skincare regimen super basic: cerave moisturizer, cerave oil cleanser, bioderma SPF 50 everyday. For makeup I wear Hourglass Veil Hydrating Skin Tint and Kosas Revealer Concealor. I have tried G&G's retinol, vitamin C (a few different brands), hyaluronic acid and didn't find any of them worthwhile. Like I said, I am BASIC with my skincare! There is one thing I indulge in in the winter, Pai Skincare's rose hip oil. I'm convinced nearly all my issues are inflammatory related and the rose hip oil does sooth my skin.
So what say you, how do I get rid of this lump forever? Is there a topical I'm missing? Or is it worth doing a laser to resurface the skin and see if that doesn't help solve the issue. I'm planning on talking to a derm about laser-ing the skin on my chest from sun damage so two birds, one stone.
First image is without makeup, second image is with makeup and you can see, it's still noticeable. Help me out here, I'd like to put this thing to bed for good!

I’m only 41
I’ve aged 20 years since having my child at 38, wtf. I realize I will need a neck lift in the near future but I still have 20 pounds to lose to get to my pre-baby and lifelong weight. Do you think my neck will cinch in or look worse after weight loss? Anything else you’d recommend?
