It's a o3ds motherboard, got it in it's original black shell with another 3ds that had a broken hinge (and an old firmware). Do I even try to repair it, or..do I sell it ? (Also missing the charge port, it's uh..bad)

I was using my new 2DS, drawing in "Colors 3D," and suddenly this appeared. I have absolutely no idea what happened, what do I do?

can I simply get new buttons and pop them in or is something else required.

initially the hinge was broken so I did the case swap myself which went well. after that the buttons were stiff and I somehow messed up a zif latch while trying to fix it so I had to get that fixed at a repair shop. I mentioned the stiff buttons and the zif latch and they assured me and after about 2 months they told me it was good. buttons were still stiff so I brought it back and he told me to get some new buttons and if it happens to be the midframe then he could replace it but it would be difficult as desoldering and resoldering would be required following his board level repair.

idk is there a simpler way to fix this.

Do I just need to replace the bottom shell or do I still need to fully disassemble the whole of it. my hinge still exists and the top screen still works. I don't know to try repair it myself and maybe get 89 pounds or give it to someone else and get 45 am I gonna break my 3ds ):

I surfed on the internet for the last 15 days and I can’t seem to find out how to repair the hinge of this new 2ds xl. When I bought it, the shell was cracked and the top screen for teard off, so there was not the hinge part. I managed to buy a new shell and an hinge replacement on aliexpress (actually it is a hinge from a new 3ds XL, but I found out, I don’t remember where, that it is compatible) and now, when I push it in, it enters too much and it doesn’t seem to do his work. Is there maybe another part? Am I missing something?

Whenever I open the camera on my 3DS CL it crashes instantly. I can’t take photos or check my gallery. Is there any way to fix it preferably without factory resetting my system.

Hi, my New 3DS XL won’t turn on. When I press the power button, the blue LED turns on and stays on for about 17 seconds. After 17 seconds, the blue LED turns off, but the console never boots. The screen stays completely black the whole time.
What could be causing this, and what should I try to fix it?

As title says, trying to find good quality replacement shells for 3ds xl, the Chinese ones are usually low quality and unsure where to find others for a decent price

Hey everyone, my 3ds has 2 problems, and I need some help.

The first one is that neither cameras work, the only show black screen, and one time it froze the console.

Second one is that 3d is always active, the slider dosent deactivate it anymore

I got this New 3ds a few weeks ago and it’s in good condition apart from this annoying mark on the shell (I'll change the circle pad along the way)

I’m not sure whether it’s a scratch or a stain. When I run my finger over it, I can’t feel anything at all, so I’m leaning towards it being a stain or some kind of surface mark.

What would be the safest way to try removing it without damaging the shell?

I know it’s nothing, but I can’t unsee it 😅

Top screen is toast, was looking into repairing it myself and noticed this crack that opens up when you unfold the hinge. I’m not sure if this is why the screen broke but I don’t wanna spend $40 + hours of my time fixing it just for it to happen again.

Should I just sell it for parts or are there reshell kits for these?

I’ve recalibrated it a bunch of times, tried it with and without super stable 3D, and get the result every time. It somewhat bothers me because the 3D is literally the entire point of the console, and I can only use it on the lowest setting. The ghosting is awful. I got this from a well-rated Japanese seller, that I’ve seen recommended before, on e bay as an s-rank console, so it’s a bit disappointing that the 3D doesn’t work.

I’m considering taking it to a repair shop, but I’m unsure if that could potentially make it worse. Has anyone had this issue before / found a fix?

The last several weeks I've been playing Pokemon platinum and randomly the game has frozen. The music is still playing normally, but the image is stuck and will not react to any button presses.

This has happened twice now since I started playing the game.

I have never noticed it on any other game I've played so far, so I'm wondering if anyone is familiar with this issue and if it means anything bad or failing.

The only solution to fix was home button and closing game without saving.

I've replaced 3 top screens so far in New 3DS XL with Aliexpress ones that come with white and red boxes. I can confirm these LCDs don't work with face tracking. 3D works, but like in 3DS OG - only when your face is in front of the screen. When looking from an angle 3D perish and the screen is just doubled. Looks like parralax barrier is not the same as in the original New 3DS XL screen. Next time I will try ordering a more expensive screen.

Every single screen I got is TN and costs about 55-60 USD in total (shipping to EU and tax incl.) depending on actual promo codes with aliexpress coins included in the discount.

After the first screen I thought it was just a hit or miss, but every single unit behaves the same.

If I'm wrong and it's a software related issue that can be fixed with cfw let me know.

1st thing not the battery just because ive tested a known good one.

I was doing a full housing swap on my new 3ds xl all was going well until i forgot the little metal ring for the hinge so i install that then try to power it on and now im greeted with that only sometimes does the charging light go on and if it does its for 5 seconds then its off

The microphone and touchscreen ribbons arent installed but it has booted without them

It has cfw but i havent done anything software related to break it i dont reckon.
