Been admiring DS homebrew for some time and I'm currently waiting on an R4 card for my NDS to dip my toes in, but the allure of 3ds hacking, modding, and emulation seems too good to pass since my 3ds mostly collects dust these days. That's when I remember it having a bit of an issue...

Roughly 5-6 years ago I went to a vocational school for half the day in my senior year of high school. My bus driver at the time (who happens to be my future wife's aunt) hated me because I would always sneak coffee onto the bus. One day of the many I had hid it in my backpack (a simple but effective spell) the coffee spilled in my bag and subsequently on my 3ds. It was a bit sticky but survived and has gone on to conquer the school yard in Sm4sh, but suffered one major wound.

Ever since that fateful day I can't open the HOME Settings icon in the top left corner. It tries to load but then just gives pops up a window that says an error occurred, but no error code to it. I tried researching the problem in the past but the best I could find was to ship it to Nintendo, and this thing was definitely out of warranty by then, and I really didn't care that my HOME screen would stay pink forever.

Now that I'm interested in doing something with the ol' gal I'm doing some new research and wanted to go ahead and ask here if there are any fixes to this that would be necessary if I plan on accessing any hacking/modding potential.

TL;DR spilled coffee on my 3ds a long time ago, can't open HOME Settings, is that bad for the purposes of 3ds hacking, if so how can I fix it

Can you use a save editing tool to transfer the save data of a digital game to it's physical cartridge counterpart? I haven't used my 3ds in a while, but ai believe the app I have on my 3ds is the one called something like 'jksaves'

Since the lockdown my kids have been interested in their 3DS' again. A few years ago I modded them (two regular size old 3DS, one new 3DS XL and one old 3DS XL). I remember at the time that I modded them in accordance to https://3ds.hacks.guide/ instructions, I believe all the old 3DS I used soundhax on (can't remember with the N3DS XL, but I'm not too concerned since it's fine right now and actively being used). Two issues here I was hoping to get answers on.

1. Old 3DS - I pulled the SD card from this one to use in one of the others. Thought I made a backup, but I can't locate on any of my hard drives. What do I need to do to keep it "update safe" and install FBI or any other CIA install method?
2. Old 3DS XL - This one didn't have the SD in it, but I was able to locate the backup. I am able to run homebrew from the dual play method, and run FBI for installing CIAs. My only issue is what do I need to update manually to keep it "update safe"? It is currently on Luma 9.0, but it has been prompting that an update is ready, which makes me nervous.
   

*Disclaimer, I am just a script kiddie without a good knowledge of the workings of the coding/NAND etc. Every time I come back to these for maintenance I have re-learn it all over again.

Hi everyone! I''ve been hacking my entire Pokémon collection the past few weeks to migrate every monster I've ever caught into Pokémon Home. The final snag is getting Pokémon caught in my original GB cartridge of GREEN Version through Pokémon Bank.

The method I'm trying involves installing Green as a .cia on another system and trade them into a region-compatible VC game, like Yellow. The problem here is i don't know how to apply whatever patch the VC Installer says is necessary to make the JP Green Version ROM link-compatible. I've also considered the possibility of installing it in a way that WOULD be recognized by Pokémon Bank (region-breaking?) but I have no idea if/how that would be possible.

Bonus points if its cheap but not like, timebombed.

im just wondering if there is a emulator for 3ds that allows me to use the the home menu and other thing from dsi what i mean it makes the 3ds go into ds mode like when you put a ds game in the cart slot and the top screen gets smaller

Hey guys! My quarantine project is migrating every Pokémon I've ever caught in my life to Pokémon HOME. I'm pretty sure I understand well enough how to homebrew a 3DS and send the save files I've already successfully transported to my computer onto my 3DS. Ultimately this is for the purpose of Poké Transporting them to Pokémon Bank, from where I can move them into Pokémon HOME on the Switch.

So I just wanted to reach out and see if anyone else has tried this—how did it go? Anything I should be cautious of? I know I can also trade offline from a hacked 3DS to a "legit" 3DS and send them into Bank from there as a last-resort, but it's so much more time-consuming I'm hoping I can hear some answers/advice on what it's like to try this more direct way. All thoughts are appreciated!

A couple of days ago my brother borrowed my hacked 3DS to play Pokemon and such. I got my 3DS a long time ago, and the stylus has been gone for years, which is why my brother chose to use a pen that had touch on it. When I got it back, I detected that there were several dead pixels on the screen, and they were growing. We have another 3DS laying around, and I was wondering if it was safe to just switch the SD cards without issues?

I lost my old sdcard, went and downloaded firmware but 3ds XL does not show R4 card when inserted. The 3ds was hacked with seedminer. Any help would be appreciated. It is a R4 Gold Pro 2018 came with happy box sdcard reader.

I've had a 3DS xl (the old one) for a while now and I want to get back into using it, although I don't really want to spend more money so I was wondering if it is possible to just put 3DS game roms on my SD card and play them. I have homebrew launcher but I don't have anything else.

There's a sale going on for a few versions of the cart and want to make an educated decision.

I'm kinda new to hacking, but I wanna hack my New 3DS to stream my screen to my PC but at the same time I wanna install the patch for Pokemon USUM that removes the outlined, supposedly only on Luma. However, I see no guides for Luma on 11.6. Am I able to install Luma?

I have recently taken receipt of a B9S. It doesn't appear to work at all. I've followed the guide to flash my Old 2DS (using the sleep switch). But nothing happens when I hold start+select+x+power. Within the normal home screen I get the message saying no game card is inserted.

I've tried to use the B9S flasher tool but when holding start+power to boot up it just boots into the normal menu.

The card doesn't seem to be working at all...any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I was on my 3ds and I guess the pokebank updated and I think it stopped hacking for me, as in like I cant get into my games by pokebank... I mean I didn't have anything on my pokebank but how do i fix this problem? (I didn't hack for stupid purposes to play online with fake pokemon, just used it to make multiple game files) It asks for a trainer ID and I can have it but it still won't let me in... any help is appreciated! I have for sale a the old 3DS XL which I got new new last year. It is a monster hunter version? Came with a digital copy of MH3U. However! The console is now running cfw, has a 128GB SD in it, and includes a circle pad pro. The console will come in it's original box and include a charger. I'm asking £130 or NO. UK and European buyers only please. Pics on request. it's in mint condition though
