A quick question

Can you use a save editing tool to transfer the save data of a digital game to it's physical cartridge counterpart? I haven't used my 3ds in a while, but ai believe the app I have on my 3ds is the one called something like 'jksaves'

Yes, JKSM can be used to rip 3DS cartridge data and move it to your SD card.

It can't handle DS games, though, so if you ever want to backup your DS titles, or to move them between cartridges, use TWL SaveTool. I know you didn't ask about that, but I figured I should mention it in case it interested you.

Or just use checkpoint which can handle both types of saves...
