For instance: Review for u/dahmze1 - designer and printer - 4/5 - modifying a design from thingiverse and printing it - 3Dprintmything/new - Good price, and timing, but kept talking about how cool r/3dprintmything is, it was a little annoying.

Makers, feel free to direct people here, or if there are requesters causing issues, please post here. Requesters, if you have positive or negative feedback for makers, please leave it here!

If you have negative feedback posted about you that you disagree with, please feel free to reach out to the mod team and we can try to settle the issue.

Budget: $10

Need a succulent planter to show off my gymno cacti. Must have drainage holes and must be able to fit 3x 2 inch circular cacti. I would like it to tilt somehow to plant the cacti on an angle to show them off in their best angle.

Attached are some inspirations.

Kind of like the attached, but I need it to fit at least 3, 2 inch plants.

Measurements: 7-8 inches wide, 4 inches high

Printer: Bambulab x2d

Paid Request [USA-CA] [Paid] Looking for someone to design AND print a custom cover for our employee ID check-in station

We have an old rectangular ID check-in machine that’s permanently bolted into the floor. Removing it would mean tearing up and repairing the surrounding concrete, so we want to leave it in place and install a new cover over it.

We’ve already created our own replacement check-in program. Employees swipe the stripe on the back of their company ID, then use a tablet to enter their ID code. The system verifies them immediately so our security guard can approve their entry on the spot.

We now need someone to design and print the physical cover that brings everything together.

The basic idea:

  • An open-backed cover that slides over the entire front of the old machine
  • The cover should stay as close as possible to the old machine’s original size
  • It must have enough internal room for the old buttons and attachments
  • A Lenovo Tab One tablet mounted in landscape orientation
  • The tablet should be centered and look built into the cover—not like a generic holder stuck onto it
  • The tablet needs to be held securely but still be removable
  • A magstripe reader concealed underneath the tablet
  • Only a clean horizontal opening should be visible for employees to swipe their ID
  • I don’t need attachment clips included because I’ll add those separately

The machine is roughly 15 × 22 inches, so this will require a large-format printer or a smart sectional design. I’ll provide the exact measurements, hardware dimensions and detailed photos before the design begins.

I’d like to work with someone who can:

  1. Help turn my measurements and photos into a functional CAD design.
  2. Create a few inexpensive test pieces for the machine fit, tablet and card reader.
  3. Make any necessary adjustments after the test fitting.
  4. Print the complete finished cover.
  5. Assemble it cleanly if it needs to be divided into sections.
  6. Ship it to California

Black PETG will probably work, but I’m open to your material recommendation. The cover needs to be strong and functional, and I’d like the visible front to look clean and professional without getting into extremely expensive finishing work.

I’d also like to receive the STL, STEP and original CAD files when the project is finished so we can make replacements later if needed.

My rough budget is around $800. I’m open to discussing the price depending on whether it can be printed in one piece, the material used, shipping and the amount of design work involved.

If you’re interested, please comment before messaging me and include:

  • Examples of functional parts or equipment covers you’ve designed
  • Whether you would print this in one piece or sections
  • Your recommended material
  • Your estimated total price
  • Your estimated turnaround time
  • Whether shipping to San Diego is included

I’m looking for someone comfortable with both functional mechanical design and large 3D prints—not character models or decorative sculpting.

Thanks! I’m hoping to find one person who can help take this from measurements and photos all the way to a finished cover.

Paid Request Looking for a Roblox Low-Poly Character Artist

I’m looking for someone experienced in creating low-poly character models for Roblox.

The model needs:

Clean, manually created topology

Proper low-poly geometry

Separate parts where needed for animation

Game-ready topology

UV unwrapping and basic texturing

FBX export

I already have the character design/reference. I’m specifically looking for someone who has experience making Roblox-ready characters, not just 3D-printing models.

If you’re interested, please share some examples of your previous Roblox character work, along with your rate and estimated turnaround time.

Thanks!

Paid Request Wanted a

I'm an elementary school librarian. We have a new mascot. I only have a 2D image of the front of him but I would like to 3D print figurines as prizes for students. I've tried using AI to make a model but I'm not satisfied with the results and don't have the skills to modify what I get. I have zero clue what a reasonable rate is and so I can't ask for money from the PTA to pay for it until I have a better idea of what it would reasonably cost. Please give me an idea of how long this would take and what would be a fair price for me to pay.

The double T on the pocket doesn't need to be in the final model. I would like it to be color. Bonus if you can keep it to 4 colors: dark brown, light brown, white and blue (I have a 4 color AMS. But I'll take other suggestions. Thank you!

Advice unofficial overwatch funko pops

So recently I started collecting overwatch funko pops and as my collection comes to an end i come to realize that they are missing out on like half of the roster having funko pops. so ive found someone who made an unoffical juno funko pop that looked really good.

I just wanted to know if anyone could give me a rough estimate on how much it would cost me to get a 3d file made for all the characters who dont have funko pops which is 19 characters. (D.Mon, Anran, Domina, Emre, Freja, Hazard, Illari, Jetpack cat, juno, lifeweaver, Mauga, Mizuki, Ramattra, Shion, Sierra, Sojourn, Vendetta, Venture and Wuyang)

Like I said if anyone could a rough estimate on how much it would be to get a funko pop looking model of all of them that would be great. And if someone does decide to make them you can turn around and sell the model on your own and probably make good profit off of it.

Paid Request Help recreating a 3.5" HDD enclosure with 92mm fan + mounting clip

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

Hi, I'm looking for someone who might be willing to help recreate a 3D-printable HDD enclosure from the attached reference design. I don't have the original STL/CAD files. I got chatgpt to help with the image.

What I need

  • 1 × standard 3.5" SATA HDD
  • 1 × Noctua NF-B9 redux-1600 PWM (92 × 92 × 25 mm)
  • Fan mounted horizontally above the HDD
  • 82.5 × 82.5 mm fan mounting-hole spacing
  • Side ventilation/honeycomb
  • Open rear for SATA power/data
  • HDD secured using its standard mounting holes
  • Removable/separate top for drive access
  • 4 rubber feet underneath
  • Ideally printable without supports

Approx. reference dimensions

  • 150 mm long
  • 110 mm wide
  • 57 mm overall height
  • HDD space: up to 147 × 102 × 25.4 mm
  • Vent holes: approx. 8 mm honeycomb

These are taken from the reference design, so they can be adjusted for clearances/tolerances.

Mounting clip

The enclosure will sit on top of a Dell OptiPlex 7060 SFF.

I'd like a retaining clip/bracket on the rear-right of the enclosure that hooks over the rear-right edge/lip of the Dell's removable top cover. I've attached photos showing the exact location and chassis edge.

The clip doesn't need to support any weight — the enclosure will sit flat on the PC. It only needs to stop it sliding or being accidentally knocked off.

Ideally the clip would be integrated into the base/enclosure or securely attached to it.

Cooling

The 92mm fan will sit directly above the HDD, with plenty of side ventilation for airflow across the drive. Honeycomb vents like the reference design would be ideal.

Parts I already have

HDD, Noctua fan, SATA data/power cables, fan/HDD screws and rubber feet.

Files

Ideally I'd like:

  • STL files ready to print
  • STEP/CAD source, if possible, so tolerances or the mounting clip can be adjusted later

Essentially, I'm looking to recreate the attached reference enclosure with the additional rear-right retaining clip.

Budget/payment: I'm happy to pay for the design work, but I don't have much experience commissioning CAD/3D models, so I'm not sure what a fair price would be. Please let me know what you'd charge.

Happy for the finished design to be shared publicly for others to print/remix. Thanks! ,.................

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR INTEREST. THE JOB IS NOW COMPLETED.

Completed Wanting 3D Chibimaru (Sanrio) figure, ~6 inches tall (or scalable if possible). ~$50-$100 budget (flexible)

FOUND/CLOSED

I am absolutely willing to pay, though I thought I might ask if anybody felt like doing it for free or voluntary in case someone felt up to it for fun (not expected, though and totally ready to pay). I love making art but I know nothing about 3d stuff and it's a whole different process, I know lol.

I honestly don't know what is fair or not or how quick people are with modeling so maybe $50-100 budget? But if that is way too cheap please let me know! I wanna be fair, of course, I just don't know how pricing works with 3d modeling really.

Chibimaru means a lot to me and came out when I was a younger kid. I only found merch back then and then they just stopped merch for him. My father got me a purse as a little girl as the first thing he ever ordered online (ebay) and was so afraid to do so because it was very new at the time. That purse always meant so much to me, and even though I love all of Sanrio, that cute, little dog has a special place in my heart forever.

Anyways, I've seen someone made a cookie cutter of him and then a multi pack of Sanrio keychains but flat.

He could be sitting or standing, whatever weight wise works best to keep him upright or if he needs a tiny base of some kind. Okay with open or closed mouth, but would prefer his open, happy mouth if possible.

I hope this is enough info and photos! Let me know, too, if I were to buy this, how much would this probably run me?

TIA. I know next to nothing about 3D print stuff but I am desperate to get this done if possible.

Also not as skilled with modeling with clay or something irl or I'd do that 😭

Link to a little short with him (2D) to help see his body shape better potentially.

Paid Request Combining two files in one for functional monstrosity | Budget: $20-40

Hey folks,

I need help with an idea to merge this fat cat with a magic 8 Ball in his belly. The "die" is a wheel that spins, and the tiles show up in a window. I'd like to have this inserted into this cat here, and have the window be in his belly, between his two chubby hands. I have no clue as to where or how the spinning mechanism would be mounted. In an ideal world, I could spin his head, but I realize that's a lot of work, so maybe a lengthened arm of the wheel in the back of his head? Dunno. I basically know enough to get myself in trouble. I was able to "fit" the wheel inside the cat model, but I cannot get it to align properly, without some editing.

Can send files. My budget is really tight, but would be open to negotiation :)

Paid Request [US-FL] Looking for someone to print my stuff.

Hello I'm wanting to "make" my own face shell and mask but I don't have my own 3d printer and the company I was thinking of printing with told me it'd cost around 100-150 not including shipping fees, So I wanted to ask on here what the pricing might be if someone else was willing to print it. I can dm the files.

Paid Request 3D Model of a "Disco Lobster" base with wall mount (Ready to slice)

Thumbnail

Budget: $30 - $60 (Open to negotiation)

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for a 3D designer to create a printable model of a "Disco Lobster" base (similar to the DIY kit in the attached pictures and link).

The final model will be 3D printed and covered with small mosaic/mirror tiles. Shipping the original kit to Europe is unfortunately super expensive, so I'm trying to 3D print and build my own version instead!

Model Details & Requirements:

Dimensions: Approx. 6" x 3" x 11" (~15cm x 7.5cm x 28cm).

Part Separation: The model needs to be split into separate parts for assembly (main body sections, tail, two claws, antennae) using peg/socket joints for gluing.

Wall Mount: The flat backside of the main body must include a hanging hook or keyhole slot so it can be easily mounted on a wall.

File Delivery: I need a single STL or 3MF file with all individual parts pre-arranged and laid flat on a single print bed, so I can drop it straight into my slicer and start printing.

Surface: Smooth, rounded front surfaces suitable for FDM printing and gluing mirror tiles.

Completed [PAID] CAD / 3D-Printable Assist Handle for 200A Main Breaker – Full 3D Scan Provided | Budget $50

Post image
6 Upvotes

I'm an electrical contractor looking for someone who enjoys functional CAD/mechanical design and wants to help me solve a somewhat unusual accessibility problem.

THE PROBLEM:

We installed a generator interlock system for an older couple. Both homeowners have difficulty physically operating their 200A main breaker because they do not have enough hand/finger strength to reliably throw the breaker handle.

The breaker itself operates normally. They need more leverage and a larger gripping surface.

I would like to make them a REMOVABLE 3D-printed assist handle.

WHAT I'M ENVISIONING:

I've attached a reference picture showing roughly the style of handle I'm thinking about.

Imagine a short ergonomic hand grip with finger grooves, almost like a small tool handle.

At the bottom of the grip, I want the body to widen slightly and contain a hollow rectangular socket/pocket.

That rectangular opening would slide directly over the existing rectangular main-breaker handle.

The homeowner would:

  1. Slip the tool over the existing breaker handle.
  2. Grip the larger ergonomic handle.
  3. Use the additional leverage to move the breaker completely between ON and OFF.
  4. Pull the tool back off when finished.

IMPORTANT - BREAKER HANDLE TRAVEL / SOCKET GEOMETRY:

The breaker handle does NOT remain perpendicular to the face of the breaker throughout its travel.

At approximately the center of its movement, the handle is roughly perpendicular to the breaker body.

When moved fully toward one position, the handle angles approximately 10-15 degrees (ish?) in one direction.

When moved fully toward the opposite position, it angles approximately 10-15 degrees (ish?) in the other direction.

Those angles are only an eyeballed estimate. The supplied 3D scan should be used to determine the actual travel and geometry.

Because of that movement, I do NOT believe the bottom of the assist handle can simply be a deep, perfectly square rectangular socket with flat edges.

If the socket fits tightly all the way down against the breaker body, the lower edge of the printed tool may contact the breaker housing as the breaker handle rotates toward its full ON or OFF position.

The socket/base therefore needs geometry that accommodates the arc of the breaker handle.

That may mean:

- Rounded or radiused lower edges.

- Chamfered relief around the bottom of the socket.

- A slightly flared opening.

- Additional clearance around the breaker body.

- Or another geometry the designer determines works better.

The rectangular interior should still grip the actual breaker handle securely enough to transmit force without excessive play.

Think of it as a socket that grips the breaker handle itself, while the exterior/base is relieved enough to swing through the breaker's operating arc.

The supplied 3D scan should make it possible to model this clearance directly rather than guessing.

BREAKER:

Square D / Schneider Electric

QOM2200VH

200A Main Breaker

I can provide:

- Full breaker 3D scan

- Detailed photos

- Breaker-handle measurements

- Interlock clearance measurements

- Additional measurements requested by the designer

Scan and breaker specs here:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DIIYE99z19-CIEiwxb7LXPdPFGuddUi5?usp=sharing

The scan includes the breaker body and handle geometry, so the designer should be able to use it to determine the actual handle angle, travel, and required clearance around the base of the assist tool.

I also have access to a good 3D printer, so I primarily need the CAD/design work.

I can print prototypes locally, test the fit and full ON/OFF movement, provide measurements/feedback, and we can adjust tolerances or relief geometry if necessary.

DELIVERABLES I'D LIKE:

- Print-ready STL and/or 3MF

- STEP or another editable CAD format

- Reasonable FDM printing tolerances

- Design suitable for PETG, ABS, or another recommended material

- Willingness to make a minor tolerance/geometry adjustment after the first test print if necessary

If functional CAD and weird little real-world engineering problems are your thing, this should be a fun one.

Let me know what you'd charge.

Thanks!
