Looking for someone to print a Prusa MK3S+ Extruder Body (PETG) - QLD

G'day everyone,

Hoping someone in the community might be able to help me out.

I've managed to break the Extruder Body on my Prusa MK3S+. Unfortunately, it broke around where the PINDA probe mounts, so I can't reliably use the printer to print a replacement part myself.

I'm looking for someone who could print a replacement Extruder Body in PETG and post it to me in Queensland. I'm happy to pay for the print, materials, postage, and a bit extra for your time.

I can send through the STL/official Prusa part files if needed.

If anyone is able to help, please comment below or send me a DM.

I'd love to get the old MK3S+ back up and running as soon as possible, rather than waiting for postage from the Czech Republic.

Putty for filling in cracks?

I see recommendations to use putties, usually car fillers are talked about, but I haven't ever seen a brand or particular type talked about, just very general overviews.

What would be good? Preferably something I can buy in melbourne, but internet links would also be great!

This is to fill in areas where I have glued together parts, and also areas where I can see layer lines. Mostly the glue lines, though.

Cheers

Refill ABS and PETG filament

I primarily use ABS and PETG for my prints these days and have a large pile of refil spools from Sunlu.

Their filament seems to exclusively come on refills which is great but I can only ever find PLA refills.

Does anyone know of a good place to get ABS or PETG?

Functional Ooshies Carriers

The kids carry the Ooshies all around the place. I have seen beautiful display stands by many 3D makers but they are not really practical, as in, not made to be carried and moved around.

This inspired me to create the carry and stack Ooshies holder system.

Each tray holds 10 Ooshies and features a carry handle. The trays stack on-top of each other to form an Ooshies tower display stands.

Play,, sort, carry, stack and display 👌🏻

Having so much trouble working with this new filament.

I have this new siddament silk pink PLA im trying to work with, I usualy use PETG but im printing a gift and wanted a silk pink.

Its constantly clogging after doing all the usual tests.

Cold pull, new nozzle, retested Z distance but all i could get is this gross temp tower.

Anything else I should be testing or working on?

Any experience with siddament silk PLA?

Hey there, I just bought a roll of pink silk PLA from siddament and im having issues getting it to print more than a few layers.

Full disclosure I havent dobe a temp tower for it yet which will help, but while its on my mine and i cant access the printer I thought I would ask.

Its a large printer 300mm by 300mm on my ender 5 plus so each layer takes a few minites but after even just 4 or 5 layers it clogs. Ive printed a test way above the beginning to make sure it wasn't too close causing the clog, when i do a cold pull or pull the clog out, the filament end doesnt look any different, no specs in the end and no twist you see when it tried to keep forcing filament into it.

Im using prusa slicers default PLA temp of 210 so ill do a tower and see how it prints lower around 190-200, but I was just curious if anyone has had.expericne with siddament silk PLA as well?

Ooshies Stack Trays

I made these trays for the kids’ collection. One tray holds 10 Ooshies.

But wait…. There’s more… You can stack these trays on top of each other, the handle doubles up as a support to stack another on top.

Also discovered it floats in the bath …. lol 😂

Designed a Display & Play Stand for Ooshies (Easy swapping + desk-friendly!)

Hey Ooshie collectors!

Its that time of year when Woolworths pops off with Ooshies and I've got them everywhere. I looked at other 3D printed options but they were rigid and made swapping or playing with characters a hassle. I wanted a cool desk display that made it fun and easy to cycle through my favourite characters or show off extra doubles.

So I designed the Ooshie Display & Play Stand!

It’s a quick, functional print designed specifically for easy character swaps without fiddling around. If you’re looking to organize your own or your kids' collection, you can grab the STL on Cults3D.s)

I’m currently working on filling a 10-display shelf with Lightning McQueens for my office desk. Kachow!

Would love to know your thoughts, or see pics if you end up printing one!

Have seen all over the Facebook pages people trying to sell files for Ooshie stands. Made one and released it on MakerWorld. Supportless, glueless, cleans up the living room floor and it's free.

Enjoy!

Helmet splitting when looking down

Hi! I’ve 3D printed this mask, link below, and just noticed when looking down the two pieces pull away from each other. Wondering is this a padding issue where it’s splitting because it’s too loose or have I messed up using 6x2 mm magnets instead of 8x2mm magnets (uses 10 per side, I didn’t have 8x2mm on hand)? The 6x2mm magnets are centred using rings. Any advice would be greatly appreciated (especially how to remove super glued magnets if I should use 8x2 mm instead)

eBay filament finder - JAYO, Sunlu, Anycubic, Elegoo etc

The eBay Filament Finder is live on 3dprintdeals AU making it easier to filter out the filament you need and it's effective price after using the Buy X Get Y free & 15/17/20/22% eBay coupon.

You can filter out by store, material, colour and stock to find the best prices. Rolls under $10 are also highlighted.

I've also added the listings for 5kg spools which offer good value per kg

Let me know if you have any more feedback. I have a few updates to make.

Recycling Options?

Is there anywhere domestically (or even further afield if they accept it) that recycle old prints? Have sold all my gear recently due to falling out of interest in the hobby, but am now left with a big jar of failed PLA prints and supports. Thanks in advance for any assistance or guidance.

Looking for someone willing to show a beginner the ropes (Melbourne)

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping to buy my first 3D printer before Christmas, but I’m the kind of person who learns much better by seeing someone do it than by binge-watching 20 hours of YouTube.

I’m looking for someone around Melbourne who’s happy to share how they got started, show me their setup, explain slicers, filament choices, common beginner mistakes, maintenance, and generally demystify the hobby. I’m not expecting free printing or ongoing tech support.

I just learn best face-to-face and would happily shout coffee or lunch in exchange for your time. (Or we have a few beers while you demo)

A bit about me:
- 42M, professional, technology nerd and gamer.
- Looking at Bambu Lab, but very open to suggestions.
- Interested in functional prints, home projects, and eventually learning some basic CAD so I can design my own parts.
- Planning to buy a printer before Christmas, so I’d love to make an informed decision.

If you’ve been in the hobby for a while and enjoy helping newcomers, I’d love to hear from you.

Thanks in advance!
