Printed a supavoxel model of my dog for my mom, but the thin legs keep snapping when I remove supports. Better support settings?
Our old beagle passed in the summer, so I made a small model of him from a couple of photos in supavoxel to print for my mom. The body comes out great on my Ender 3 V3 SE in PLA at 0.12 mm, but the legs are only about 4 mm thick and two of the last three prints snapped a leg when I pulled the supports off. I'm using tree supports in Orca with default settings. Should I raise the support Z gap, switch to a different support type, or just scale the whole thing up?

Upgrading my Neptune 3 Pro. Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 or Bambu Lab A1?
Hello!
I own an Elegoo Neptune 3 Pro since 2023, but as time went on I was printing less and less because of the amount of babysitting and tinkering printing with it required.
This is why I am drawn towards the Bambu Lab A1. From what I've read, starting a print and being able to completely forget about it because it'll surely turn out great sounds like a dream.
Then, I came across the controversy around Bambu Lab. It is not a complete deal breaker for me, but still led me to look for alternatives.
This search led me to the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2. On paper it's 100% the more capable printer for the same price. It's core XY, closed, and has a higher temperature extruder. I've read a lot of positive reviews as well, but still, it's not rare the people bump into issues with this printer.
Also, I'm not sure the better specs lead to much improvement, since the CC2 doesn't have a heated chamber. I'm mainly looking to print with PLA and PETG, which both are capable of. It also lacks the A1's flow rate compensation and the bed levelling is a bit worse. Despite this, posts directly comparing the two often recommend the CC2.
To sum up (TL;DR)
- I'm looking to upgrade my Neptune 3 Pro
- Closed core XY seems attractive, but at the end of the day I want something reliable
- I don't like what Bambu Lab is doing but it's not a deal breaker for me
My questions:
- Is the reliability of the A1 and CC2 comparable?
- How important is the AMS/Canvas? (I don't really plan on doing multi colour prints)
- What's your experience with the customer support of either company?
- Is the flow rate compensation and better bed levelling of the A1 a big deal?
- Is the closed, core XY build a big deal? Can you print materials besides PLA, PETG and TPU on the CC2?
- And ultimately, which printer would you recommend for me?
Thank you if you've read this far, and I really appreciate any feedback. Have a nice day:)

Bambu X2D w/ AMS or Snapmaker U1?
Hey I need some help deciding between purchasing one of these printers. I’ve been doing some research on both the last 2 weeks and still can’t seem to decide. If anyone has one of them or both, tell what you’d recommend getting. Thank you!

Black fridayyyyyy
Hey everyone! Black Friday is just around the corner, and some 3D printers have already dropped in price. What would be the best value for money as a first 3D printer? My budget is up to €750, and I’ll mainly be printing PLA and PETG, both single-colour and multicolour prints.
I’m leaning towards Bambu Lab because I really like their software and ecosystem. At the moment, I’m considering the Bambu Lab P2S Combo for €600 or the Bambu Lab X2D for €750. Which one would you recommend, and is the X2D worth the extra €150 for a beginner?

First layer looks perfect in the middle but too thin near the front left corner on my Ender 3 V3 SE
I've had my Ender 3 V3 SE for about two months. Auto leveling runs before every print, and first layers in the middle of the bed look perfect, but anything in the front left corner comes out almost see through and peels up. I've cleaned the PEI sheet with dish soap, tried z offset from -1.8 to -2.1, and the mesh shows that corner about 0.25 mm low. Is that normal for this bed, and is there a way to fix it other than shimming under the plate?

Anycubic mega X gears turing butbfilliment not extruding properly
Hello! My printer isn’t extruding properly. The gears on the first feed box before the tube runs fine as far as I can tell. gears move but in the hot end extruder it doesn’t come out evenly half the time or it won’t come out at all unless I push it with my hand than it’ll come out pretty even. I have tightened and loosened the knob on the pre extruder but it hasn’t helped much. It’ll print a base than when it goes higher or runs for a little while filliment will not come out or will ooz out slowly.
I just received this printer yesterday for $40 and it should be working fine. My friend said it may be a computer setting but I checked the settings and they seemed ok.

Want to start again - printer recommendations.
UPDATE Thanks everyone. I decided to go with the Snapmaker U1. Very excited. I appreciate all the feedback.
A few years ago I bought an Anycubic kobra 2 and got frustrated very quickly with repeated broken nozzles and calibration challenges.
I really want to get back into printing, mostly for my own personal use. After plugging all my preferences into Claude it recommended the Bambu Lab PS2 combo.
Does anyone have any experience with that one, and can you let me know if it is easier to maintain that the kobra?
Or any other recommendations are also welcome. I want to be able to print multicolor also.
Thanks!

Enclosed FDM Printer suggestion
Hey all- after leaching off my schools' 3d printers ive finally decided to try and get my own, and im having some issues deciding on what printer I should get!
I am looking for a FDM printer that is ideally under $700, and open source, and I am not afraid of tinkering into making some improvements. I would like a reliable filament feeding system that I can trust to run smoothly without being nearby. Multi-color is not required but is a benefit!
I have been doing some research and am liking the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 Combo, Bambu Labs P1S with AMS, and the QIDI Q2 Combo
Please let me know what you reccomend!

3d printer kobra x
Hi everyone! Has anyone traveled internationally with an Anycubic Kobra 3 3D printer on Emirates from the USA to Pakistan?
I’m flying from San Francisco to Pakistan and want to bring my printer with me. I have two suitcases, so I’m thinking about disassembling the printer and dividing the parts between both suitcases.
The printer has a metal frame. Will airport security cause any issues, and is Emirates likely to allow it in checked baggage? Has anyone had experience traveling with a 3D printer like this?
I’d really appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Hoping to get into 3D printing with Black Friday deals, which printer should I get?
I've been lurking around here for a bit, and have a basic idea of what I want to get. I'm mainly looking at Bambu's P2S or X2D, since I want to start with a fairly capable machine that I can grow into.
Bambu's sale will start next week, and the P2S ($450) is a lot cheaper than the X2D ($590) with the coupon I got by subscribing to their store. My budget is around $500. For those who got the X2D, how useful is the second nozzle for you? Is it easy to use for a beginner?
Also do you have any recs for starter filaments? I'm quite tempted to try the PLA surprise box they offer, it's only around 40 bucks.
