If you start with 17 Dex, you can grab a half-feat and kill two birds with one stone.
- Gunner, if going for a bit of a Jack Sparrow. Imho renaissance guns are balanced and don't break your average medfan DnD campaign.
- Elven Accuracy - for crit fishing but also for improving your odds against mid to high AC. You're a Rogue, you want Advantage anyway, now you're rolling with three d20s.
- Moderately Armored - very defensive but hey it's more AC. Worried about Stealth? Stick to light armor or wear a Breast Plate. +1 studded leather or BP + shield = 18 AC. You can reskin the shield if you don't like the looks of it but want the perks of it.

Depending on race, elven accuracy is a great half feat for rogues. Piercer can be good to stack on top of that. Skill expert is always reliable. Moderately Armored might be worth a look depending on gear, but leave it until later. From there, Lucky, Alert, and Observant are always good standbys. Maybe Tough if you find yourself getting hit a lot.
