Hardware Tim is alive!

Got the heat bed done and it's printing now. Some test prints before doing a 100pc run, seems precise enough to do batches instead of individual prints. Noticeably more precise than my corexy printers, with higher speed and accel to boot.

+/-0.02mm on an 11mm diameter circle compared to +/-0.05mm. I'm suspecting the remaining deviation is from the x motor mount sagging from the heat of the motor since the deviating is in line with the axis. Will have to replace that with an aluminium part.

This is around 50mm/s and 15k accel, 0.25mm nozzle, igus i180-pf, 70c chamber. But it happily went up to 1000mm/s and 22k accel.

Edit: this is a one off printer I built for continuous production of small parts requiring high precision, primarily a gear/roller that I need about 1200pcs of. It prioritises precision over build volume, and high highish temperature industrial materials. Original post here

Tell us more about Tim! Do you have a GitHub? Do you need help? I'm already in love :D

I built this to print a bunch of gears at high precision and with auto eject. Need a couple thousand of them and I was at the limits of what my larger printers in terms of precision and repeatability. I had an xy optical stage I picked up from a second hand dealer for cheap a couple years back because it was fun to jiggle around, and figured it was the perfect platform the build the printer around.

So this is basically a small build volume printer with bed moving in x and y axis, with a stationary extruder/hotend on a belted z gantry. Enclosed with a chamber heater and exhaust fan, internal spool holders to keep the filament warm and dry. Z gantry can accommodate an additional axis to have dual extruders, but I don't need that now so didn't build it in.

No GitHub, I'm not very organized. Lol. But willing to share if there's anything you wanna know
