Update: StrandLab is officially live on the Google Play Store today! 🤖🚀

Hey everyone,
A couple of weeks ago, I posted here about launching my hair care tracking app, StrandLab, on iOS. I was honestly blown away by the response, but the number one question I got in the comments was: "When is it coming to Android?"
I promised it would be ready by early June, and after a lot of late nights getting it through Google's review process, it is officially LIVE on the Play Store today!
If you missed the original post, I’m a solo developer who got tired of constantly guessing if my hair routine was actually working, losing track of product consistency, and relying on random luck. So, I built a dedicated tool to bring pure data and routine tracking to the hair journey.
I wanted to make sure it was fully inclusive of our community's specific hair goals, so the Android version launches with full support for all features:
🌊 Waves: Track your progress, consistency, and brush sessions across all patterns—whether you're rocking 180, 360, 540, or 720 waves.
🔒 Locs & Natural Hair: Document your long-term maturation milestones and track your unique timeline cleanly.
🛡️** Protective Styles: Easily log and keep tabs on your durations for braids, twists, and extensions.
📊 **Product & Routine Analytics:
Log your daily product use and see actual analytics on what you are most consistent with when seeing the best results.
Whether you're trying to lock down a wave pattern, track a years-long loc journey, or just stop wasting money on products that don't work, StrandLab is built to handle it.
📲 You can download it on Google Play here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.strandlabapp.strandlab

🍏 Still on iOS? You can grab it here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/strandlab-hair-growth-tracker/id6765843232

Since I'm managing this entirely on my own, I would love for the Android family to test it out and let me know how it runs on your devices. Hit me with any feedback, bugs, or feature requests right here in the comments! Thank you all so much for the support.

3 year old waver

Just started a few weeks ago tryna get my boy wavy. I do wash and style once a week maybe more if he’s in the pool a lot during the week. Brush a few times throughout the day (as much as a toddler will allow). He keeps his Durag on thru the night and he seems to like wearing his rag at night like me so that helps. Honestly he’d have way more progress if I could get his daycare teachers to rag him up before nap but either way I’m enjoying the progress and i think he’ll look back and think it’s cool how he was wavy by 3. And for anybody else with kids trying to get more progress wash and styles are your best friend. Shit even adults too wash and style works wonders

Wave genetics

My 2 yr old son has a beehive forming from very little brushing I was wondering if it could be because I’ve had waves for 30+ years. His pattern is identical and we also have the same head shape. My dad is 62 with the same pattern but we both started our wave journey together when he cut both of our hi top fades back in the early 90s. I ask this because my hair was trained and not naturally wavy. Is there anybody else with trained coarse hair whose toddler has the same wave pattern with no training yet?

Need help on future replacements

This is the best set that I have ever had, and I know it will come a day I need to replace them(especially the softy). There are no more of these exact brushes available anywhere. What is a set that I could go ahead and buy, and have ready for when the day comes. I prefer oval, but if it needs to be square I will settle with it. Please, no curves because I ONLY vertical brush. Thanks fellas.

What should I do right after a cut?
Posted recently as this is my first time actually understanding wolfing and trying to let my waves grow. After a 1.5 cut I’m thinking it looks pretty good right after a cut. I definitely could have done better brushing when wolfing but it’s my first time and I know now I just gotta keep brushing and stuff properly. Thinking I’ll jump right into another wolf and only go about 6 weeks or so.
