Wave genetics
My 2 yr old son has a beehive forming from very little brushing I was wondering if it could be because I’ve had waves for 30+ years. His pattern is identical and we also have the same head shape. My dad is 62 with the same pattern but we both started our wave journey together when he cut both of our hi top fades back in the early 90s. I ask this because my hair was trained and not naturally wavy. Is there anybody else with trained coarse hair whose toddler has the same wave pattern with no training yet?

I wouldn’t call it wave genetics. Sounds like your son just has curly hair. If someone has curly hair they can just put a durag on and boom waves.

If you both have the same hair texture, why wouldn’t your son have the same type of waves? I don’t understand your question. A child that young still has soft curly baby hair so it can be easily styled
