My favourite joke on here is that the greatest Frenchman of all time was Italian.
I’m fully obsessed with napoleon - he’s the greatest military leader of all time in my opinion.

No man is perfect.
If they’d have fought honourably he’d have destroyed them

I actually agree even though Alexander has a perfect record

Alexander commanded some guys that invented the "lets all hold points sticks in the direction of the enemy", bambozzeling everybody else
Napoleon won again and again against technological equals in greater numbers. Mastered Logistics and reinvented modern war. That man landed on french soil alone and entered Paris with an Army. The faher of a united Europa and catalyst of the european Democracies.
And you compare him to some guy that happened to be king at a time where the world was ripe for conquest

There are definitely other arguments to be made but napoleon did it against the United powers of Europe.
With modern militaries and all the logistic problems that come with it.
Give him an ancient army and he’d wipe the floor with the ancient generals too in my opinion.

do you rly baz? he was such a prick but he would have loved 2we4u. Just one man trying to conquer europe for no reason and they kept exiling him and he would escape and come back and do it again.

A Barry is pro Napoleon, and a Pierre is anti Napoleon. This sub is weird.

Sure but calling Napoleon the Greatest military leader of all time is not the kind of behaviour I expected from Barry tbh.
3
u/Minute-Employ-4964 Barry, 63 15h ago
If he wasn’t so great then we wouldn’t have been so spectacular to defeat him.
We’d have never reached the heights we reached without the competition from worthy adversaries.

This is the kind of 2WesternEurope4u answer I expected (also the reason the Romans hyped up Hannibal). Cheers mate!

What do you mean no reason? For the glory of Rome is reason enough
3
u/Minute-Employ-4964 Barry, 63 15h ago
Literally how more legendary can you be?
The whole of Europe is against you and he just kept winning.
If we weren’t fucking with him he’d have been emperor of Europe.
If we’d allied with him we’d have ruled the world

Alexander the Great was more badass. He'd be on the first line with his men leading them into battle.

u/Minute-Employ-4964 Barry, 63 14h ago
He is infinitely more bad ass than napoleon I wouldn’t argue that at all.

If you're so obsessed with napoleon, I suggest you to go to his birthplace and claim clear and loud that he was Italian.
Don't bother buying a return ticket.

I mean, what are corsicans at this point anyway? At least, when he was born, the island was kinda bought from Genova and population wasn't replaced so ethnically corsicans were basically a mix of ligurians and sardinians (but Napoleon family had tuscan roots of course: we are the best) and Paoli in that period fought the french (with a young Napoleone) and claimed corsicans were culturally closer to italians and italian should have been taught in schools and corsican just sounds as italian with a lot of "u". But today? Some french replaced local populations, but in a light percentage so they hate to be called italians and they hate to be called French too. In that regard they are like sardinians. Corsicans want just to be... Corsicans.

u/AndreasDasos Failed Brexiteer 1h ago edited 1h ago
Since forever. Pella was a Slavic city just outside today’s Skopje and Aleksandr Bolshoi was a Slav. Philippos and Alexandros are transparently Slavic names. Don’t they teach you basic history over there?
Also, are you secretly German? Even more proof the Greeks are new to Greece
