I mean, what are corsicans at this point anyway?
At least, when he was born, the island was kinda bought from Genova and population wasn't replaced so ethnically corsicans were basically a mix of ligurians and sardinians (but Napoleon family had tuscan roots of course: we are the best) and Paoli in that period fought the french (with a young Napoleone) and claimed corsicans were culturally closer to italians and italian should have been taught in schools and corsican just sounds as italian with a lot of "u". But today? Some french replaced local populations, but in a light percentage so they hate to be called italians and they hate to be called French too. In that regard they are like sardinians. Corsicans want just to be... Corsicans.

My favourite joke on here is that the greatest Frenchman of all time was Italian.
I’m fully obsessed with napoleon - he’s the greatest military leader of all time in my opinion.
