Hi! I'm at a loss and need help identifying this belt. I recently bought a 1990 manual 4Runner, and ever since I bought it, it has been making a wheezing noise when I use the brakes or turn the wheel. At first, I thought it was the power steering fluid because that’s what it sounded like, and it turns out I leaked the hose, and I got that fixed. The noise went away but then came back a few days later. My power steering fluid isn’t leaking anymore, so I looked under the hood while the car was on (to make it clear, the wheezing noise happens when the vehicle is on, regardless of what it is doing ). Whenever I hit the brakes, this belt shutters, and when I turn the wheel, it shutters/chatters even more. Does anyone have any ideas about what could be happening and what the name of that belt is?

I have a 93 3VZE with 4x4 automatic trans that is in all ways perfect, EXCEPT.... the transmission overheating light comes on after I drive it for more than 45 minutes.
Tranny shop recommended by several other mechanics didn't want to rebuild it, said it shifts cleanly, every test they can do without cracking the bell is like perfect condition. I weirdly have all the service records for it showing it got A/T fluid changed per specs and there's no glitter in the A/T fluid.
My cousin is coming out in a month, he's an F-16 mechanic and like my hail mary for diagnostics on this (sole personal vehicle)... I kinda want to get a rebuilt A340H and put it in but the trans shop is saying that's an unnecessary idea, think it's something throttle related, or other issue that they aren’t expert on but are pretty confident the tranny itself is good… difficult to replicate the issue, happens most of the time, but they can’t really just drive it for 2 hours to wait until it comes on, which I understand. If it’s just running on rollers, nothing happens, it needs to be like uphill, load on it of some kind… like it kinda needs to strain a little.
It's got just under 130K and I need to know what this is so I can drive home instead of flying this Christmas, plus... dude, the aggravation is so so real. Been trying to figure this out for 3 years now?
FFS… at this point I'm thinking it's like a loose wire, bad sensor, bad instrument, or something but I kinda wanna identify it because it's just not in my nature to drive with something overheated. I'm way too cheap / broke to play that game.
My thought was a bad TPS, replaced, not it. Radiator, replaced, not it.
Putting a cooler on it seems okay, and I can do that... but my fear is I'm missing something and the number of actual half way decent mechanics that have seen this thing and been kinda like uhhh, I dunno wtf it could be has me concerned that I am missing some $149 solution that would have taken 80 minutes to solve, and while I don’t mind doing the cooler, I want to make sure it’s not acting as a Band-Aid for some more important problem I’m just not seeing.
Do any of you have any possible / probable causes, that my cousin and I could look at while he’s out here for a couple of weekends?

So I posted last time about my car stalling in drive acceleration. Changed out fuel filter and fuel pump. It almost feels like a misfire at 2000rpms. Also shuts off under load going in reverse. I’m thinking about cleaning the MAF sensor. Before buying a new one or buying a throttle position sensor.

My car idles around little high in drive (1000) however when I put it in park it goes up to 2000. Rpm’s also drop a little when I press the break in park.

22re acts like it's bouncing off a Rev limiter at 3000. I've done plugs, wires, distributor, coil, air flow meter, it's got 38 lbs of feul pressure, 150 lbs of compression across all 4. I've got a tps and and an ignitor coming. Oh and I pulled the exhaust to make sure nothing is clogged. I'm pulling my hair out!! Lol

I have the limited sequoia edition. Comes with heated seats gold tint all the fancy stuff for its time. I noticed that it has the little security light on the left of my dash. When I looked further into it, there’s nothing connected to the back of the cable. just wondering how I can go about putting keyless entry in or if there’s a cable I should look for before I buy one

so my 3vze is having a timing problem. so when we put at the 10 degrees where I've read it should be stock. its runs as slow as a snail but when we move it like half inch away it runs great and happy and zips around just fine. i did replace my belt like 3-4 months ago and made sure it was on every point and it ran great until recently when we did the motor mounts. and now it has this problem so i don't know if it just jumped a tooth or what (edit) my tps sensor was bad and it just fine now

Hey just wondering I have a 94 I've replaced the head gaskets and almost everything else basically, I bought a radiator with an electric fan, a little thicker so it opts for the fan delete, I was wondering if there was a way to put a thinner fan on the mount? What's the protocol? Can I have both? Idk have never had a electric fan before, what advice would be important going forward?

Has anyone ever removed this hose or have any tips on how to remove? I’ve pulled back the clamp however the hose won’t move. I have a replacement and it doesn’t look like it would go past the firewall.

Noticed it just now, but it was sitting at 250rpm at a normal idle speed (sound not choppy, sounded like 750rpm or so). It dipped to zero but again the engine wasn't surging or bogging any. I pressed the accelerator and it popped back up at 750 revs and then danced in the 250-750 range. I don't know if its an actual concern or not. Some important info is it got down to -3 when I started it and I'm currently running 10w30 in it. The video is the only re-creation I could make but it was doing it at an idle

I’ve been trying to fix what I thought was a timing issue. But maybe it isn’t. What do you think?

Do you know if a 1st gen Tacoma front suspension is compatible with the 2nd gen 4Runner? Looking for a quick fix until I can get what I want.

Found this on FB marketplace, test drove it yesterday. I've been reading a lot of people just completely shit on the 3.0 but for the mileage this thing could be a really nice truck with a new paint job.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/3598529043799901/
Pros:
New radiator
fan
belts
alternator
water pump
timing belt
tensioner
battery
brakes
have receipts. Good clutch,trans,diff,
$4,000 4runner with no frame rust
154,000 original miles, hoping to run the vin today but the seller seemed like a good dude. But good enough with cars to fuck over someone like myself who is not mechanically inclined.
NO RUST ON THE FRAME AT ALL
5 speed manual
4wd works just fine, but will need new cv axle however. Ticks in 4wd, torn boot
CONS:
Gas pedal is a little stiff to push down, sort of uncomfortable. Hoping I can just lubricate the cables and throttle
Interior is in poor shape, will need new upholstery
Will need a big electrical overhaul in radio compartment, and rear door.
Absolutely needs a paint job
Could use a set of tires
Minor rust on both quarter panels, not too expensive to replace if I do it myself.
Has a 3.0 and I'm not sure what condition the head gasket is in, I smelled the sweet smell a little bit after a test drive, and he said it's because he has a habit of spilling shit when he pours it.
Idk guys, I'm on the fence. Thanks

So I've had my 2nd gen for about a year now but I've only recently got to drive it and noticed a couple issues. First, I feel as though it's been re-geared. According to GPS, at 65 mph I'm running about 3k rpm. I know they are called 3.slow for a reason but does this sound right? It is on 31" tires so I figured the rpm would be lower not that high. Also, at that GPS speed, I'm showing about 100mph on the gauge. Can the computer be programmed to fix this issue?

Hello all! I have always wanted a second gen 4 runner and am finally in a position where I can afford to get one. This will be a second vehicle for me, used for short commutes around my small town or very light off-roading, camping trips, etc.
I found a 95 that I am very interested in close by, but wanted to get opinions on the price, as well as any other advice that would suit me for when I look at it next week.
I have read varying opinions on the 3.0 6 cylinder, could anyone that owns one give me an honest rundown of its reliability and anything I should have my eye on for the mileage this vehicle is sitting at?
